βWe did not stay at this hotel, but used them through Nannybag to store our luggage for a day. The moment we walked through the front door, we knew that weβd have to come back to stay here. The hotel is so charming! Has a great feel when you walk in, and the staff was very friendly. I also wanted to thank the manager who was there on Monday, 25/08/2025 (American guy with long hair and glasses - sorry we did not get your name!) The road was closed after 5pm for Fringe events, and the gentleman helped us walk our luggage all the way down the street to wait for our driver to pick us up. He even stayed and chatted with us for a bit so we were not alone. He was so friendly and accommodating, and because of him - we would happily come back and stay at this hotel next time weβre in Edinburgh! We cannot thank you enough for your kindness - Things like this leave a lasting impression on people.β
βLast August I spent a week at Emmaus House. It is a place of great hospitality. Janet and Andrew are very welcoming and hospitable. I felt very much at home. They are always there for every guest. Both helped me with the information I needed and the language. Our breakfast was a wonderful time, every day there were different people from different countries, so there were many experiences shared. It felt like a family. I had the opportunity to share otherβs experiences and joy. It was a brilliant time. On my last day there, Janet cooked a delicious supper for us. I made friends there and I would like to go back and spend some days with them. I greatly recommend Emmaus House. Rosemeire Dos Reisβ
βSpacy Apartment in a quiet corner, however Shops, CafΓ©s and Haymarket Station in near vicinity.β
βWe arrived in town later than expected and were quite tired from our trip. There was a mixup with our room since we didnβt book direct (issue with the website on our end, not their fault), so there was only one bed setup on arrival. Lynne explained what happened with the booking and had us sorted out within minutes. She was also very helpful with questions we had about the city. The hotel itself was clean, well maintained, the food was great, but the staff really made this a perfect stay. 10/10, would recommend to anyone needing a nice quiet stay away from the city center.β
βHotel in a beautiful Victorian house. Close proximity to the downtown area. Inhouse Bar. Friendly staff and nice breakfast. Rooms are gorgeous, spacious and super comfortable. We were very satisfied!β
βGreat few days away staying in this hotel, the location is great and easy walking access to new and old parts of Edinburgh. Rooms lovely and clean. Staff friendly at reception. Breakfast is great with plenty of choice. Must give a mention to Raul at breakfast, nothing too much trouble. Will definitely stay here again if visiting Edinburghβ
βI think I've left, like, 3 Google reviews in my whole life. But this hotel was really so good that it needs a review. The staff are amazing . So eager to help. The rooms are nice and clean, the shower has good water pressure, the location is just amazing , but it's still pretty quiet. Definitely a place to stay if you're in Edinburgh. This American cannot recommend it highly enoughβ
βGreat guest house with nice comfy and quiet rooms with en suite bathroom (note that you need to turn on the power to the shower in the bedroom using the red switch). Breakfast cooked to order and delicious. Perfect location, 200m from haymarket railway station, close to bus stop to either go into town or on line 100 to the airport.β
βGreat spot. Clean rooms. Fantastic service at the front desk and in the breakfast restaurant. Great location - a bit quieter than the places south but still close enough to walk to everything. I would not hesitate to stay here again.β
βNice and clean room's. Plenty of space to dine and the bar area is reasonably sized. Parking, Plenty of spaces and will fit the larger SUV style car's too. Staff are polite, friendly and very helpful. Pool, steam room and the changing area's all in good order and clean. Can't remember on the pool area but the room's and bar are wheelchair accessible. In house WIFI available. Would I visit again? Yes yes I would. We found it a very good spot for excursions as it's located near the main road's and made the day trips start well. No body wants to sit in traffic at the very start of a day out. Forth bridge and Kelpies are very close by if you want to cross them off your bucket lists quickly.β
βFor the price, this place was perfect. We had a great night sleep, comfy pillows, 24 hour bar, and breakfast. We stayed in luxury stays for most of our trip but stopped here before the airport. Felt like we wasted some money other places after staying here, it always feels risky booking a place thatβs cheaper but we were incredibly satisfied with everything.β
βThis is a wonderful place with a lovely owner and the people from the village. I had an honour to spend an evening in the pub with the locals, and it was my best evening during the whole schottland trip. I would never think it can be! I have never experienced sich a friendly and open atmosphere! I will love to come again. Thank you, Dave, Alan, Claire, and all other guys at that eve!β
βStayed over a couple of nights while taking a short vacation back home, perfect location for walking to see the Forth Rail and Road bridges, with a glorious view of the new Queensferry crossing just a couple of minutes walk away. There is a Tesco and a McDonald's nearby too. Staff were lovely, hotel room was pleasant and clean, extra heater provided in room if it got chilly, tower fan if it got a bit too hot in summer (when I went). I'd definitely recommend anyone visiting to see the attractions, use this hotel as a stop over. It's lovelyβ
βWe had a lovely stay at Barony Castle! All the staff were so nice and helpful, thanks to Bethany especially! Our room was great, with a nice view of the garden, and the walks around the grounds in the snow were really pretty - we hope to be back soon!β
βHampton by Hilton, Edinburgh Airport This is my second stay at the Hampton by Hilton, and it continues to impress. The hotel is well-appointed, quiet, clean, and the staff is always friendly and attentive. The breakfast is exceptional, offering a great variety of options. Unfortunately, on this particular evening, there was a group of young people in their early 20s on our floor who were slamming doors and being loud and obnoxious. After tolerating the noise for two hours, I decided to call reception. They responded immediately and took swift action to resolve the situation. The night staff handled it efficiently, providing exceptional service. Despite this isolated incident, I highly recommend this hotel for its overall quality and excellent service.β
βStaff are always great. Always bring in the dog and theyβre great with himβ¦ Special mention to Kimberly as her service is always 10/10. Henryβs always a good laugh when weβre in too. Food is always fab too.β
βVery affordable and great location for a hotel! We were both pleasantly surprised with the room! Great service, would definitely recommend and come back here again!β
βMy Daughter and I recently stayed at Royal Mile Edinburgh. All the staff went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible. All our meals were absolutely delicious thanks to chef Andrew. From Receptionist to waiting staff, house keepers a big thank you to you all for looking after us. Weβd definitely recommend Royal Mile and weβd like to stay again some time soon. Xxβ
βWorks Christmas dinner. Absolutely fantastic food! The service was top notch too. Location is very handy for the M4 (Junction 15 is a stones throw away). Highly recommended. Photos don't include the bowls of accompanying veg.β
βGood no frills hotel at a reasonable price for the area. Excellent location. We had an issue with the sheets and they sorted it out real quick using their whatsapp service. A no frills option if you are just using the place to sleep. Its a quieter location than the central Ibis so got a good night's sleep. Mind, we were on the top floor. I would use this one again.β
βVery clean and great rooms. Very comfortable bed. A very nice breakfast but very crowded as well. On the water front, very close to the Britannia ship. Easy to walk along the waterfront and some wonderful restaurants at the pier house. there is a fee for parking with a discount as a hotel guestβ
βTraveling for work, I've been choosing this hotel every time. Perfect location close to the airport and easy to access with public transport. The rooms are modern, clean, with a touch or luxury. Big plus to all staff for being so friendly and helpful. The food is absolutely fantastic with solid portion sizes and good flavours. Can recommend to anyone traveling to Edinburgh.β
βWe had a wonderful stay at the Holiday Inn Express, Royal Mile. Upon arriving a few hours early, David kindly assisted us by storing our luggage and went the extra mile by recommending places to visit in the city, which was extremely helpful. Later, Claudio checked us in efficiently and continued to stand out with his excellent service throughout our stay. At checkout, it was a pleasure to be assisted by both David and Claudio once again. This hotel is truly a must-visit β the team genuinely cares about their guests, and the combination of outstanding service and prime location makes it an excellent choice.β
βBooked this hotel very last minute after staying in what was the worst hotel I've ever visited. Happy with the price which although is expensive, isn't that bad for Edinburgh. The hotel is surrounded by bars and restaurants but I didn't hear any of this from my room (I was on the fourth floor). The reception staff were polite and informative, giving me the details I needed for my stay and informing me where the room was. Unlike other boutique hotels in Edinburgh I've stayed at there is a lift (elevator for our American friends). The entire hotel is clean and fresh wish lush carpets (makes me assume was recently upgraded). My room was very generous, high ceilings and a very comfortable bed. There is an iron and ironing board, kettle with tea and coffee etc. (as you would expect). I would very happily stay here againβ
βHi we have 2 Bernese mountain dogs that are spoiled rotten and I did a meet and greet with Donna from diamond dogs our 2 girls loved her so I didn't hesitate to book our girls for an overnight stay to begin with they loved it and have stayed several times since p.s. keep up the good work Donnaβ
βWe had a wonderful stay here at The Haymarket and Lairg Hotel. Friendly and informative staff. Our stay was out of season so it was lovely and peaceful which is what we wanted. There was a little hiccup with another guest but after a quick phone call to reception, the manager dealt with the issue quickly and personally and gave us the reassurance we needed. Breakfast was served quickly and fresh. Nice selection of cooked and continental items. Our en suit room was clean and tidy. It was equipped with essentials including an iron and a hairdryer and plenty of storage for our luggage. We also had a brochure detailing the many sights and attractions in and around Edinburgh in our room. We would 100% stay here again and may do so in the near future and bring our children with us. Thank you for a wonderful stay.β
βA lovely, cozy, quaint place to stay! The bar was lovely too! Only gripe: it's a bit misleading for them to say "free parking" when really, they have a couple spots in a narrow alley that are always full and very sketchy to get in, and if those spots are taken, get ready to pay Β£3.10 an hour on the streetβ
βPerfect room. Amazing bed. Bathroom spotless. Staff helpful, friendly, and efficient. Breakfast very, very good. Evening meal menu ok, if you lije American-style food, such as brioche buns, sickly bbq sauces, and frozen veg. Fish and chips very nice, pizza is the best value. Don't have any warmed-up desserts, they're blasted in the microwave and either rock hard or the chocolate is burnt. Definitely stay here again, though, the beds are fantastic.β
βYou can never go wrong with a Premier Inn! Really enjoyed our stay here for a short get-away with our friends to Edinburgh for the Christmas Market. Rooms excellent as always with friendly, helpful staff. We didn't have food in the hotel restaurant, there's obviously lots of options nearby. Uber Eats / Just Eat have lots of delivery options to the hotel too. Slightly 'out of it' in terms of location, 20 minute walk from Edinburgh Waverley Railway Station and the city centre. Not really a problem though, as we never waited more than 10 minutes for a cab into the city.β
βA great stay. Rooms are a bit small, but completely functional. Otherwise, the hotel was very clean and nicely decorated. The hotel let us check in super early after arriving from a long day of travel, which was very appreciated. About a 10 minute walk from the tram, and an easy 1 mile walk to the centre of Edinburgh.β
