“Great guest house with nice comfy and quiet rooms with en suite bathroom (note that you need to turn on the power to the shower in the bedroom using the red switch). Breakfast cooked to order and delicious. Perfect location, 200m from haymarket railway station, close to bus stop to either go into town or on line 100 to the airport.”

“We did not stay at this hotel, but used them through Nannybag to store our luggage for a day. The moment we walked through the front door, we knew that we’d have to come back to stay here. The hotel is so charming! Has a great feel when you walk in, and the staff was very friendly. I also wanted to thank the manager who was there on Monday, 25/08/2025 (American guy with long hair and glasses - sorry we did not get your name!) The road was closed after 5pm for Fringe events, and the gentleman helped us walk our luggage all the way down the street to wait for our driver to pick us up. He even stayed and chatted with us for a bit so we were not alone. He was so friendly and accommodating, and because of him - we would happily come back and stay at this hotel next time we’re in Edinburgh! We cannot thank you enough for your kindness - Things like this leave a lasting impression on people.”

“Last August I spent a week at Emmaus House. It is a place of great hospitality. Janet and Andrew are very welcoming and hospitable. I felt very much at home. They are always there for every guest. Both helped me with the information I needed and the language. Our breakfast was a wonderful time, every day there were different people from different countries, so there were many experiences shared. It felt like a family. I had the opportunity to share other’s experiences and joy. It was a brilliant time. On my last day there, Janet cooked a delicious supper for us. I made friends there and I would like to go back and spend some days with them. I greatly recommend Emmaus House. Rosemeire Dos Reis”

“We didn't have a room but went for lunch. Our server Irving was very friendly and helpful. He had just gotten back from a trip to Canada which is where we are from so we had a lot to chat about. Had the soup, small portion of fish and chips and the special burger with haggis. Everything was delicious.”

“For the price, this place was perfect. We had a great night sleep, comfy pillows, 24 hour bar, and breakfast. We stayed in luxury stays for most of our trip but stopped here before the airport. Felt like we wasted some money other places after staying here, it always feels risky booking a place that’s cheaper but we were incredibly satisfied with everything.”

“This is a wonderful place with a lovely owner and the people from the village. I had an honour to spend an evening in the pub with the locals, and it was my best evening during the whole schottland trip. I would never think it can be! I have never experienced sich a friendly and open atmosphere! I will love to come again. Thank you, Dave, Alan, Claire, and all other guys at that eve!”

“My Daughter and I recently stayed at Royal Mile Edinburgh. All the staff went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible. All our meals were absolutely delicious thanks to chef Andrew. From Receptionist to waiting staff, house keepers a big thank you to you all for looking after us. We’d definitely recommend Royal Mile and we’d like to stay again some time soon. Xx”

“Good no frills hotel at a reasonable price for the area. Excellent location. We had an issue with the sheets and they sorted it out real quick using their whatsapp service. A no frills option if you are just using the place to sleep. Its a quieter location than the central Ibis so got a good night's sleep. Mind, we were on the top floor. I would use this one again.”

“We were here for a weekend break in December, doing some Christmas shopping, and taking in a show at the playhouse theatre in Edinburgh. This hotel is ideally located for shopping, it's right next to a huge retail park. Also ideally located for commuting into Edinburgh, as there is a train station across the road from the hotel, Edinburgh Waverley is literally two stops away! Breakfast at the hotel was okay, but was really busy (but that could just have been down to timing). The hotel rooms are okay, but if I was going to be picky I'd say that they could do with some drawers for clothes, if you're staying for more than one night, you don't want to be living out of a suitcase. We would definitely stay here again. Oh and if you're looking for somewhere to eat, the food in the pub next door is delicious.”

“Hampton by Hilton, Edinburgh Airport This is my second stay at the Hampton by Hilton, and it continues to impress. The hotel is well-appointed, quiet, clean, and the staff is always friendly and attentive. The breakfast is exceptional, offering a great variety of options. Unfortunately, on this particular evening, there was a group of young people in their early 20s on our floor who were slamming doors and being loud and obnoxious. After tolerating the noise for two hours, I decided to call reception. They responded immediately and took swift action to resolve the situation. The night staff handled it efficiently, providing exceptional service. Despite this isolated incident, I highly recommend this hotel for its overall quality and excellent service.”

“We had a wonderful stay at the Holiday Inn Express, Royal Mile. Upon arriving a few hours early, David kindly assisted us by storing our luggage and went the extra mile by recommending places to visit in the city, which was extremely helpful. Later, Claudio checked us in efficiently and continued to stand out with his excellent service throughout our stay. At checkout, it was a pleasure to be assisted by both David and Claudio once again. This hotel is truly a must-visit — the team genuinely cares about their guests, and the combination of outstanding service and prime location makes it an excellent choice.”

“Stayed over a couple of nights while taking a short vacation back home, perfect location for walking to see the Forth Rail and Road bridges, with a glorious view of the new Queensferry crossing just a couple of minutes walk away. There is a Tesco and a McDonald's nearby too. Staff were lovely, hotel room was pleasant and clean, extra heater provided in room if it got chilly, tower fan if it got a bit too hot in summer (when I went). I'd definitely recommend anyone visiting to see the attractions, use this hotel as a stop over. It's lovely”

“Booked this hotel very last minute after staying in what was the worst hotel I've ever visited. Happy with the price which although is expensive, isn't that bad for Edinburgh. The hotel is surrounded by bars and restaurants but I didn't hear any of this from my room (I was on the fourth floor). The reception staff were polite and informative, giving me the details I needed for my stay and informing me where the room was. Unlike other boutique hotels in Edinburgh I've stayed at there is a lift (elevator for our American friends). The entire hotel is clean and fresh wish lush carpets (makes me assume was recently upgraded). My room was very generous, high ceilings and a very comfortable bed. There is an iron and ironing board, kettle with tea and coffee etc. (as you would expect). I would very happily stay here again”

“You can never go wrong with a Premier Inn! Really enjoyed our stay here for a short get-away with our friends to Edinburgh for the Christmas Market. Rooms excellent as always with friendly, helpful staff. We didn't have food in the hotel restaurant, there's obviously lots of options nearby. Uber Eats / Just Eat have lots of delivery options to the hotel too. Slightly 'out of it' in terms of location, 20 minute walk from Edinburgh Waverley Railway Station and the city centre. Not really a problem though, as we never waited more than 10 minutes for a cab into the city.”

“We had a fantastic stay at the Holiday Inn Express Edinburgh City Centre! The location was incredibly central, which made it so easy to explore the city on foot. It felt safe and lively, with tons of restaurants, shops, and sights just steps away. Our room was spacious and comfortable, which was such a pleasant surprise for a city hotel. It gave our family plenty of space to relax after busy days out. The breakfast was excellent—plenty of options, both hot and cold, and everything was fresh and well-stocked. It was the perfect way to start our mornings. The staff were so friendly and helpful!! What really made our stay extra special was how the staff helped celebrate our daughter’s birthday. They surprised her with a sweet birthday treat, and it meant so much to her—and to us! Overall, we felt really well taken care of and would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a convenient, comfortable, and family-friendly place to stay in Edinburgh!”

“A lovely, cozy, quaint place to stay! The bar was lovely too! Only gripe: it's a bit misleading for them to say "free parking" when really, they have a couple spots in a narrow alley that are always full and very sketchy to get in, and if those spots are taken, get ready to pay £3.10 an hour on the street”

“Lovely location for a hotel, just a 10 minutes walk from the castle and the royal mile. Very scenic buildings in the vicinity. Staff very polite and helpful, looked after the bags on the day of checking out so we could make the most out of our last day. Modern, clean room with good temperature control. A very good stay and perfect hotel for a couple.”

“We stayed here for 3 nights during an event at the Royal Highland Centre. Location couldn’t have been more perfect as the entrance is a mere 3 steps away from the hotel car park. Getting here was easy off the main road as was parking. Just remember to pay for your parking in reception and not using the qr codes in the car park as you’ll get it half price. Check-in was a breeze with all staff polite from the moment we arrived to the time we departed. Reception has a small shop area with drinks and snacks and a vending machine with all your holiday essentials that you likely forgot to pack. The airport terminal is only a 15min walk away too but constant shuttles work their way from the hotel if you arent up for a walk. The airport terminal has a tram stop which for £10 return takes you straight into the centre of Edinburgh. Our room was 34 on the ground floor. Great size and spotlessly clean. Great to see dove hand wash, body wash and shampoo along with the usual tea and coffee stuff, hairdryer, iron and ironing board. Only complaint is the mattress is well past its shelf life and all its spring has sprung. Very soft and we just kept rolling into the middle but beyond that the room was perfect. Free unlimited breakfast in the morning. Muffins, croissants, pancakes machine, cereals as well as the typical hot choices like sausages, bacon, eggs etc. Overall we were very happy with our stay and would definitely go back.”

“Traveling for work, I've been choosing this hotel every time. Perfect location close to the airport and easy to access with public transport. The rooms are modern, clean, with a touch or luxury. “Perfect room. Amazing bed. Bathroom spotless. Staff helpful, friendly, and efficient. Breakfast very, very good. Evening meal menu ok, if you lije American-style food, such as brioche buns, sickly bbq sauces, and frozen veg. Fish and chips very nice, pizza is the best value. Don't have any warmed-up desserts, they're blasted in the microwave and either rock hard or the chocolate is burnt. Definitely stay here again, though, the beds are fantastic.”

“This hotel was great! Comfy beds and breakfast included was greatly appreciated! Proximity to transit and groceries was also awesome! The staff was great!!! We got lucky and were on the side of the hotel that let us see Edinburgh Castle in the distance. The photo is with the 15x zoom on my phone. The front desk needs to control the AC in your room. The local thermostat really only seems to show you the temp in the room. The only other thing that we knew about but forgot until we checked in was that you have to pay for parking at the hotel. They do give you a voucher code for 50% off parking which helps but it’d be nice if it was included.”

“This Residence Inn will forever be in our memory as a place run by dedicated and honest people. Maria runs this place with great leadership. One incident really stood out: We lost a pink water bottle of sentimental value (strongly suspecting it was in the hotel) and didn’t realize it until we were out of town. We contacted the hotel and explained to Maria the situation. She promptly looked into it, contacting the housekeeper immediately and got back to us right away. The housekeeper confirmed that she found it. We asked if the bottle could be shipped to us, and Maria was so helpful giving us all the information we needed to arrange for a shipping company to pick it up from the hotel, etc. We got it in the same great condition it was at when it was lost and couldn’t be happier. Maria’s can-do energy is so refreshing and much appreciated. Maria, thank you for welcoming us when we arrived, for taking the time to explain the hotel details, and for taking immediate action to solve the problem we presented to you after we left. Also, please thank the housekeeper for her conscientiousness, for her honesty, and for her politeness to us when we interacted with her during our stay. We wish you all the best and hope to see you next time we’re in Edinburgh!”

“Very handy location just off M8. Rooms are clean, food in restaurant for dinner and breakfast is great at good price. Very friendly staff. WiFi is terrible and staff don’t care, I assume they want you to buy the premium WiFi but in this day and age there’s no excuse for poor WiFi. Small detail. Bring and extension cord, there is no power by the bed to plug your phone charger in”

“We had a really lovely stay at the Premier Inn Livingston (Bathgate). From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome — everyone was friendly, helpful, and genuinely attentive, which made such a difference to our visit. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well-kept, just what you’d expect from a Premier Inn, but it was the staff that really stood out and made the experience special. The check-in was smooth, the team was always happy to help with any questions, and they went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. It was a great base for exploring the area, with good transport links nearby, and after a busy day out it was lovely to come back to such a relaxed and comfortable place. The rooms were spotless and the beds very comfortable, ensuring a good night’s sleep. Overall, we had a very positive stay and would happily recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area. A big thank you to the team for making our trip so enjoyable!”
