“These guys are so consistent in their culinary art and customer service! We've been ordering from them for around a year now, I think, and the food is always absolutely delicious! Such amazing, diverse, authentic flavours. ”
“Great burgers, nice and filling, fantastic chips, a little on the expensive side but thats to be expected and its fair, great spot if your struggling to decide. 100% vegan place”
“The food here is always a really high standard and the team are friendly, service with a smile every time. So many dishes on the menu I could recommend, top favourites are the chilli garlic squid, the gyozas, haggis wontons and the jhei cauliflower.”
“Authentic Vietnamese food! I've travelled to Vietnam twice and I have to day the food here tastes the same as I've had in Vietnam! The chef is Vietnamese so good expect nothing less. The staff were friendly and efficient. This has become one of my favourite restaurants.”
““Really delicious food! I ordered the Drunken Noodles and Prawn Tempura — both were excellent, fresh, and high quality.”
“So I tried Chef Chi after reading reviews and I wasnt disappointed. I ordered a lemon chicken dish & salt & chilli chicken dish, both were lovely. I went in to order my meal & Emma, who took the order, was really lovely, polite and thorough when taking the order. It was a 30min wait but I can accept that, it was busy, a Friday night & its clearly a very popular takeaway!! I'll be ordering from there again. Update: 15th August, I phoned in an order, the lady taking the order was so lovely, upbeat & chatty, really lifted my mood. I was a pest, phoning to change my order but nothing was a problem to her. The food, chicken & cashew nut, fried rice, chilli chips, curry sauce, noodles & sweet n sour sauce was really nice, not too salty, not too bland, plenty cashews which other takeaways scrimp on and plentiful portions. Second time here and yes I'd recommend and yes, il be back.”
“We order from here a lot. Fantastic place with an excellent menu and very tasty, fresh food. Would highly recommend!”
“Warm welcome, attentive service, delicious freshly made Indian food, the Thai seabass was very much enjoyed by the table next to us, so seems to be a great mix of authentic dishes for a dinner when not everyone fancis a curry. We loved our vegetable pakoras and the Sag Gust (tender lamb with spinach). Recommended!”
“Fast and fresh with fantastic service !”
“Three words. Get the duck. The takeout duck appetizer is delicious, filling, and inexpensive considering how much you get. I know it's meant to be shared, but sometimes I just want to have a night alone in my flat watching a movie after a long day without having to cook. The people at the counter are super chill, too. When I went here most frequently, the digital payments were being weird, so they only took cash. I never carry cash with me in the UK, but this was totally worth asking a friend to exchange for.”
“Kauai is such a breath of fresh air to Edinburgh! We love their health approach to every thing they do. They have excellent quality breakfast options, and exceptional lunch options. Their coffee is great. Their staff is friendly and the service is always good.”
“Not since I had noodles hand pulled in front of me in Hong Kong have they tasted this good. Kudos to the owner for being a one man show! Two types of dumplings were also superb.”

The kitchen serves locals and comedy showgoers delicious, freshly prepared comfort food and Asian-inspired street dishes. “Had number 17 and it was absolutely delicious. Very unique place but highly recommend to anyone thinking about trying it!”
“A bit more expensive then your regular takeaway but oh so worth it! The quality of the dishes was amazing. We chose two different curries and roti, everything was absolutely delicious. They have really convenient ordering system on their website. Huge plus for vegan options. Definitely our new favourite local takeout.”
“This is a newly opened Thai street food restaurant. The food is really delicious and the staff are amazing. It was my first time here and I liked that the food was really filling with very large portions (I had leftovers as I couldn't finish it). The desert was one of it's kind and I enjoyed every bit of it. Would go there again.”
“Honestly really lovely cosy place! The staff were very nice and dealt with some allergies at our table quite well. The food was so so delicious and very reasonably priced too.”
“Our visit to Nok's kitchen wasn't planned, we had just finished the Edinburgh castle tour and were looking for a place to eat when we spotted Nok's and we had zero regrets. Our order arrived in less than 5 minutes!! Steaming hot, and the food was bursting in flavours. The cocktails were great too. I recommend 100% you can never go wrong with Thai food.”
“This is a real authentic Thai food outside of Thailand. The food is superb! Super delicious. I’m like back in Thailand. The staff are so friendly with the Thai tradition touch. Very central too the location of this restaurant. Very easy to find. Must come and taste the food. Highly recommended to have meals here!!!”
“This is a great little street food cafe, small menu but a good one, friendly service and very authentic; you know you are in a real Thai place when Buddhist Monks come in for food! The Pad Thai was incredible, the best we've had outside Thailand by a long stretch. And a great crispy chicken Thai salad. I will be back!”
“DELICIOUSSSSS food! The bao buns are so fluffy and yummy, and the kung pao chicken was delicious too. Staff are very sweet, though they only accept cash!”
“Lovely owners, very friendly and love a wee chat! Food made to order and waiting time great! We had chicken fried rice and beef fried rice with free prawn crackers on the side. Both were delicious and would highly recommend this place”
“I have had take outs from here and they are always have been delicious. Today I decided to dine in. I didn't booked a table, the staff were so accommodating and cordial. The food was amazing, if you want to taste Chinese food with fresh products, this is the place to go, the food was incredible tasty. The staff so helpful and friendly.”
“During my visit to Edinburgh i tried Nanyang Restaurant and was very impressed with the food and the portion sizes. We were unable to finish all the food. The service and atmosphere was also top class. Not sure why they would redo the receipt and add 25p because i requested 1 container to take away some food, was it even worth the hassle”
“Told myself I wouldn't bother with Asian food in Scotland but so glad we stopped here! Tbh, not the most authentic Viet/Thai food and actually reminded me more of noodle soups in Singapore, which was just fine by me. Absolutely delicious and hearty on a rainy day. Always happy to be proven wrong by good Asian food!”
“During my work in Edinburgh I chose this place for lunch and definitely was not disappointed. Delicious food. Friendly, polite and helpful staff. Location is very good too. Should’ve taken the pictures of food or inside but I was too busy enjoying the food.”
“The food is amazing, recently moved into the area from Edinburgh and been using the same take away there for 30 years, first time I’ve ever had a proper lemon chicken unless I’m a restaurant? Highly recommend”
“We go all the time, one of my son’s favourite places to eat from when he was little, great value for money, delicious food. Fast and friendly service. Love the new additions to the menu too. Also great for take out - food keeps it temp quite well”
“The best authentic Chinese dishes I have ever tried. It's a takeaway only, but the food is always hot, so it's still warm by the time you arrive home (within a 15- 20-minute journey). Chicken, duck, prawns are rich and full of flavour, rice cooked on a daily basis, and thin noodles are succulent.”
“First time at Wagamama's and had a bonus visit since my brother works there. Really good that they take extra care if you have any allergy’s, the food was really tasty, well presented and not too hot. The service is good and didn’t had to wait long. Really recommend if you have any food allergy’s.”
