“This is a great little street food cafe, small menu but a good one, friendly service and very authentic; you know you are in a real Thai place when Buddhist Monks come in for food! The Pad Thai was incredible, the best we've had outside Thailand by a long stretch. And a great crispy chicken Thai salad. I will be back!”

Tbh, not the most authentic Viet/Thai food and actually reminded me more of noodle soups in Singapore, which was just fine by me. Absolutely delicious and hearty on a rainy day. “During my visit to Edinburgh i tried Nanyang Restaurant and was very impressed with the food and the portion sizes. We were unable to finish all the food. The service and atmosphere was also top class. Not sure why they would redo the receipt and add 25p because i requested 1 container to take away some food, was it even worth the hassle”

This place sits at the top of my list now and is officially my go-to spot for Chinese food. “The best authentic Chinese dishes I have ever tried. It's a takeaway only, but the food is always hot, so it's still warm by the time you arrive home (within a 15- 20-minute journey). Chicken, duck, prawns are rich and full of flavour, rice cooked on a daily basis, and thin noodles are succulent.”

“I was craving Asian food and I didn’t even know it. I had braised pork belly and my mom had mapo tofu. I’m so glad i ordered the brained pork belly—I have been watching so many Korean cooking competitions recently where chefs have made this recipe so many times, and it was so great to taste it in person. The sauce was perfect, and the pork was braised so incredibly. The collagen was perfectly chewy… Another restaurant that I would recommend to people, if I knew anyone here in Edinburgh. A shame I won’t be able to eat here again.”

“We liked this place so much we went twice. We had the Salmon Teriyaki Bowl, Veg Tofu Teriyaki Bowl, Veg Poke Bowl and Salmon sushi. The Veg Poke Bowl wasn't bad, but the rest was delicious. And very healthy with lots of veggies. The quantity was great — two bento bowls were adequate for the three of us. Tip: Ask for extra soya sauce and ginger packets for the Teriyaki. It tastes even better. The restaurant is also well situated and clean. Worth visiting several times.”

“Great lunch and snack menu resembling of Asian street food with a fusion touch to it. I had two buns with a very generous portion of beef and tofu filling for £5.95, topped with salad. The sushi/burrito invention looked good on other customers' plates too. I found the little desserts particularly endearing - one can chose 6 for £3.50 or any single one for £0.60. This coupled with a relaxed atmosphere, spacious interior in a raw but warm (wood!) decor and really friendly staff calls for 5 stars.”

“Tasty, fresh cooked dumplings served with soy sauce. Top food for a quick hit on the run. Ate on site with chopsticks provided. Good snacking for youngest. Some small communication problems but got there I the end. Well worth it for authentic dumplings and buns served with a smile. Super hot, super fresh. Be careful!”

“We needed a change of pace , a spicy change. Great Indian food with just enough heat on a cold night. Great food and great staff. Our waiter was very helpful and gave great guidance on what to order. We first came across Shamoli on our visit to Edinburgh a year ago. We made sure to make time for it again. “Been a regular for 3+ years. Always go here for my takeaway as it's quite cheap compared to other places and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Really like their sweet and sour and honey chilli chicken. If you are thinking of ordering from here, I reccomend ordering from their own app "orient" as it's much cheaper than just eat and you get a discount.”

“Booked for lunchtime on a Sunday for an overdue catch up with friends. 9 of us all different meals and one fussy eater and everything came out quickly and together, generous portions tasted great and staff were happy to help with orders Had placed tables together for us all to be able to all sit together comfortably.
