“I had a lovely meal at cast iron restaurant. I had ordered the mushroom ravioli with white truffle sauce and i must say it was delicious and the portion was big. The two staff i would like to highlight is Stephen who was the host,he was so friendly and welcoming,has a very positive personality and the other is Josue who took my order and served, he is so lovely,great to talk and very hospitable, he knew i wanted some bread but did not order the bread basket as it would be too much for one person so he requested the chef to add 3 slices on the side along with butter,i was so happy and surprised. Both Stephen and Josue came to check on me during my dinner. I will surely come by again for the lovely meal and great service. Thank you.”

“Loved every single thing at Porter and Rye! Initially, we were running late due to traffic and the person on the phone offered to change our booking time to allow us to still go & have enough time for our meal. Me and my friend got the Friday deal and got one of the starters. My friend doesn’t have alcohol & they were happy to change the drink for a non-alcoholic one. The steak tartare starter was unreal!! Then the steak & sides arrived, a fantastic portion for a deal and everything cooked to perfection. Everything we had was so flavorful and the high quality. It was my birthday and the restaurant offered me a birthday sweet & prosecco along with desert that we ordered which you could tell was made fresh. The service was excellent, Rachel and the team took the best care of us & really felt spoiled. The atmosphere was also perfect, felt very intimate & calm. If we could give more stars we would. A big thank you!!”

“This was our second time having bucks bar and we love it. We had gotten takeaway as we weren’t staying to far and the food was still hot and great. The portions are huge and we couldn’t even finish the fries. Absolutely worth the money. I had gotten a Nutella milkshake (delish) and my partner had gotten the bourbon cream shake, very boozy but exactly what he wanted. We absolutely love the food here, so good!”

“For me this has to be hands down the best steakhouse I have ever been to, I booked me and my partner a table on a Monday night for her birthday with a note on the booking letting them know it was her birthday. All staff in the restaurant were absolutely amazing and didn't make a big fuss for her birthday and wished her a happy birthday and even gave us a card which was a small gesture but absolutely appreciative. Our waiter for the night was Steven and I cannot put into words how amazing he was, he walked us through the menu, brought a board with all the cuts of steak and showed us how big they are, what cuts would be best for us etc etc, he was absolutely unreal throughout the night and kept checking up and had really good conversations with us through the night even though Steven let us know that they were short staffed. The food was absolutely sublime and beyond any steak we've ever had and the sides were no slouch either which we absolutely loved. Overall I cannot recommend the butchershop high enough. Thank you for making my partners birthday amazing and letting us take home our leftovers”

“We came here on my 38th birthday. The food was excellent as was the Organic wine we had. We shared a Haggis Quesadilla to start. It was quite large you could have it as a main. I actually preferred this to the main we had. We then moved onto the Haggis Neeps & Tatties each as our main. It was great. Not 100% traditional but a nice modern twist on it. We spend £81 in total for 2 people to have a 2 course meal with a bottle of wine. That's fairly reasonably priced.”

The menu offers a great variety of dishes, and the food itself was delicious, beautifully presented, and very reasonably priced. We had two courses each with soft drinks, and the bill came to around £20 per person – excellent value for money.”

“Great burger, but on the pricey end 8/10 A customisable burger experience, though the menu could be clearer on what counts as extras. The smashed patties and caramelised onions were standout, but the burger was slightly dry. Loved the sweet buns and crispy Cajun and garlic fries. Note: The small space fills with kitchen odours and parking is tough. Total was £40, a bit pricey due to unexpected topping charges. Worth a visit if nearby and craving a solid burger. Not great for parking if you’re not in the area.”

“What a wonderful surprise in the heart of Merchant City! I'm a huge fan of Turkiye and Turkish food, and stepping into this place is just like being transported abroad in the best way. The service is characteristically warm and friendly in that way that all Turkish people are, the food is exceptional, the complimentary bread is delicious, and the portions are huge. Delighted - I'll be back!”

“We came to The McMillan for the first time last weekend and really enjoyed it! Steak was delicious and service was really good. The restaurant had a really lively atmosphere for 5 pm on a Saturday and although it was really busy, the service and food were still very much on point. Looking forward to coming back again soon!”
