“Food was delicious, chilli con carne had a bit of heat and very filling. Only slight downside was a very rowdy group on a pub crawl, but one of the bar staff apologised and said they would not be staying long. Otherwise, a very cosy pub, great food and atmosphere”

“Took our grandson to a party at inflatapark next door. Popped in to the cafe for lunch. Ordered a Sunday dinner. Wasn't expecting such a lovely dinner. Had beef with 5 veg, mash, roast potatoes and a homemade Yorkshire pudding, and coffee. Was just over £10 pp. Great service, very quick and very tasty. Highly recommend.”

“A little Portuguese bar cum coffee shop. . I asked did they have Licor 43 and a Portuguese equivalent to carajillo. The answer to both questions was no. What could we try? Various possibilities were suggested. Eventually a sweet liqueur was suggested. A shot in an espresso cup, topped up with a shot of espresso. The result, an alcohol fortified espresso. A not unpleasant drink for a cold damp late afternoon as dusk was settling. Cost of the drink created for the bar, with helpful suggestions, £1-50. Cash only”

“Wow just wow, from start to finish.. Came here with my mum for a bite to eat, we got more than a bite to eat. I took my food home with me as I had that much on my plate, absolutely amazing. The young lad behind the bar, really friendly, made us feel soo welcome, very polite, smiley, cheerful, the beer garden is lovely and cosy, I highly recommend this place and we will continue coming with our family as our local now.. Wouldn't go anywhere else!!”

“Had a fantastic evening here with friends. The food was spot on, although one criticism was the lack of brie and cranberry in the pie, but the wife loves that stuff. Everyone else loved the food, the staff were great and we enjoyed having a laugh with them. Prices were very reasonable. Would definitely recommend.”

“Dunedin was the first and only wedding venue we visited, but from the moment we arrived, we knew it was the one. From the welcoming staff to the beautiful grounds, delicious food, gorgeous guest rooms and thoughtful details throughout the venue, everything felt just right. Beth, Chloe, Helen and the team at Dunedin were an absolute joy to work with. They are friendly, calm, and super organised, they made the whole process feel so seamless and enjoyable. Their genuine care for each couple and every guest who walks through the door really shines through — they truly want your day to be as magical as possible. The venue itself is stunning — the perfect balance of space and intimacy, allowing all our favourite people to be together without feeling overwhelmed. We were lucky to have beautiful weather, so we made full use of the gorgeous grounds during both the ceremony and into the evening. The photos captured with all that vibrant greenery are something we’ll treasure forever. If you’re looking for a beautiful, intimate venue run by a team who truly care, we can’t recommend Dunedin enough. They go above and beyond to make your wedding day unforgettable. Thank you all so much for your incredible effort and kindness — you gave us the best day of our lives! ❤️”

“We turned up just as the kitchen was closing down and being cleaned, however they cooked us a steak pie and chips and 2 haddock and chips. The food was piping hot, good sized portions and tasted blooming lovely. Our dog was allowed to join us at the table in the pub. There was a selection of real ales to pick from. Staff and locals are very friendly. We will be back. Well recommended. The only downside is nearby parking is limited, not that we are complaining.”

“After reading previous reviews and worrying about previous comments, I can honestly say our experience was far more relaxed and positive. Lovely location in a very quiet village. The weekend was fairly quiet even with nearly all the pitches taken. It wasn't rowdy, which if I'm honest I was expecting this from the comments, everyone seemed respectful on our stay. The pub food was amazing value for money and tasted really nice. If your looking for activities you will have to travel away from the campsite to the local towns, we travelled to Goole to the shops and free museum, good for young children. I think if your looking for a site just to relax, this would be the one and if you like to have a drink in the evening and a game of pool they have a small cosey pub on site. Showers are very nice and clean and to be honest the £1 per 2 minutes on the machine actually helps keep the queues down at the showers, not once did I need to queue and I showered every morning. It was a bank holiday weekend at the end of April, The Manager was present a lot over the weekend doing general maintenance on the site which definitely shows well as it seemed well kept when we stayed. I honestly wouldn't let the reviews put you off. It's worth at least experiencing once! If you have young children it may be best to bring more activities along with you as my daughter got a little bored but only because other campers went out for the day and she was alone, there is a small children's park for the kids though. I'd say that's the only thing missing is some daytime entertainment at the pub to bring everyone together. However the manager has his reasons for not opening during the day which is understandable. It may be a nice idea to open a small grocery shop on site? Not sure if this has been thought about but would be handy to be able to buy a few bits on site instead of driving out but again probably the cost that would be involved may put the owner off doing so. Again totally understandable. My mum came to stay in the little rooms with ensuites that have availability, which was nice and cosy. So if you have friends who won't camp, it's ideal for them to book a room instead! All in all it was a pleasant stay. We would definitely come back in the near future if we want a relaxing break. Also the pitch we camped on was very well sheltered and the manager said he usually puts tents in this area. On other sites we usually feel the wind on the tent slot but this site we barely felt the tent moving in higher winds because it's very well sheltered! Big bonus and good for first time campers who don't want to be put off.”

“Visited with my Granddaughter who's 4 and had a lovely time. Staff very helpful, plenty to do and the food for this type of attraction was the best I've had. Never known my Granddaughter to finish a burger and fries and not leave any, usually just ends up playing with the food. Book a table, it's pretty busy across lunchtime and although you can take a picnic, the food in the cafe is fab.”

“Put simply, outstanding. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Lovely atmosphere and very clean. The food was amazing, fresh, cooked perfectly and extremely tasty. My daughter had a fresh made pizza (we watched the chef make it), and it's definitely one of the best pizzas I've tasted. She loved it. The salmon and lamb dishes were outstanding. The cheese board, well, I thought it was for sharing it was that big, no, it was an individual serving. It was amazing, along with lemon gellato and Eaton mess, it finished off the meal. All in all, it is very reasonably priced for what you get. I would highly recommend coming here.”

“Lovely pub with a delightful decor. Absolutely incredible choice of beer and snacks. You can roll a dice and get a surprise choice of drink - I got buckfast - very sweet and quite strong. Loved the little chippies and overall vibe.”
