“A great place in Cleckheaton for real ales and craft beers plus gins and spirits. Offers a friendly and relaxed vibe plus a nice beer garden, good sun trap.”
“Had a lovely meal here with my wife and mother in law after a visit to Halifax Christmas market. Great food, great service and atmosphere, friendly staff. Can heartily recommend.”
“Our large group celebrated an anniversary in the 1885 restaurant last Saturday, and we couldn't have been more pleased. Victoria's exceptional pre-event organization ensured a flawless experience. The beautifully arranged room, prompt service, and delicious food all contributed to a wonderful afternoon. The staff's warm welcome, helpfulness, and attentiveness truly impressed us. Highly recommended – we'll be back!”
“Had a nice Sunday roast here the other day. Definitely worth a visit if you're wanting lovely cooked pub food”
“Went here today 25th May as a party of three. Didn’t have a booking called to book in was told no spaces, called back 5 minutes later to confirm booking for us. Was so grateful, staff was really nice and friendly. Food was 10/10 check out the pictures. Highly recommend”
“I came here simply because my last name is Hinchliffe, and it exceeded expectations. The staff were so welcoming - it felt like I’d shown up to a real family environment. The food was fantastic and high quality. Portions were generous and very fairly priced.”
“10/10 for our first experience of a Sunday roast here. Staff very friendly- fair prices - perfectly cooked. Gorgeous building”
“A boujie little Indian restaurant right in the centre of Todmorden, which I had no idea existed until we visited! The restaurant was well-decorated and food was nicely presented. Garlic Naan’s were very moist & buttery which is always the sign of care and quality (in my opinion!). The Madras was a little too hot for my tastes, but as a party of 4 we all enjoyed our meals and will definitely be back again!”
“Upon walking in the atmosphere was absolutely amazing! Such a gorgeous restaurant. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The room was very warm, the nice lady had made sure it was cosy and warm ready for us arriving. The food- where to begin?! The flavours and portion size we can’t fault it at all. Really enjoyed it. Our room was really nice and the bed was very comfy. We will come back again I’m sure of it!”
“I absolutely love this place! Its small but packs a mighty meal! Very nice staff and reasonable prices if I ever go back to Todmorden, it's the 1st place I will go. They have fantastic soups, lunch, and dinners plus a full bar in a nice atmosohere!”
“Had a delightful Sunday lunch today. Warm and friendly welcome and nothing seemed too much trouble....We chose a small roast option and so pleased we did....the plates brimming, plenty for us. Deserts sounded wonderful sadly we didn't have room. We will certainly return the our youngest as I know desert will definitely be eaten then! Thank for a very pleasant experience. We will visit again soon.”
“Great cocktails and good selection of beers. It was a busy day and the poor girl behind the bar was on her own but did a great job. Slight downside was that the toilet was well used by the time we got there and could have done with a bit of a clean.”
“We booked a family meal for my birthday. Waited a long time for food to say, at that point, it wasn't busy. However, there were 12 of us and it was nice to have a catch up whilst we waited. Food was delicious. Huge portions”
“Amazing food! I think it’s the best pub food I’ve ever had in my life! I had seabass and risotto, and it was delicious. The portion was massive, and very tasty! My friends ordered gammon steak, lasagna, steak pie, and cod fish, and they all are very good!”
“I'd booked a 60th birthday for 13 of us. We were in a separate room which was great so we didnt feel like we were disturbing any other diners although the room was open to the bar so we didnt feel cut off from the rest of the restaurant. The staff were great and looked after us really well. Food was good and we were all served at virtually the same time, which doesn't always happen with large parties. Will definitely be back”
“A group of five of us visited the White house pub this afternoon and we weren't disappointed, excellent food, excellent service, I had the Cumberland sausage with jacket potato and mushy peas and would definitely recommend it. Great views of the surrounding moors, ideal location for walker's.”
“As first-time visitors to The Hermit Inn, we were impressed by the ambience, standard of service and the quality of the food. It's obviously a very popular spot, based on the number of customers when we visited on a Saturday lunchtime. The pub is on the route of a number of popular walks, and arriving by foot to such a welcoming pub is pleasant indeed. If you're planning to eat, booking a table is recommended; the booking slots are a generous two hours. The staff dealt with the steady flow of customers professionally, and with a friendly and welcoming demeanour. The menu has a good selection of dishes. Our food arrived quickly, a credit to the staff in what looked like a tiny kitchen. The food was tasty, and well-received by all our group. Would definitely visit again.”
“A lovely little family run sandwich shop and café. Places to sit inside or out and takeaway. The two ladies serving were very friendly and down to earth people, who made us fresh to order tasty sandwiches. I would highly recommend this independent place and would certainly visit again.”
“It's the first time I've been but I was welcomed like a regular. Great selection of beer to add to the friendly atmosphere makes it a great place to go. Treats for the dog also added the icing on the cake”
“We attended a community BBQ laid on by The White Horse, my local pub. This pub is one of the finest eateries in Yorkshire. Their Sunday lunch is to die for. The young staff are polite, friendly and helpful. Tonight, the pub organised a community BBQ. It was simply brilliant. Children were dancing about with wonderful face paintings. Unlike many country pubs that I have visited, there was a wonderful diversity of patrons, all having a ball! As an Irishman, I am very particular about my Guinness. As someone who has pulled pints of Guinness in Ireland and has been drinking it for 50 years, I can honestly say that a pint of Guinness in The White Horse is as good as many I have experienced in Dublin. This BBQ, tonight, brought people from many backgrounds together with stunning live music. I am so lucky to have such an amazing pub in our village of Church Fenton.”
“Great pub and great beer the staff are friendly too!”
“Very friendly atmosphere and reasonable priced drinks. They dont do food”
“Great atmosphere ,staff always smiling ,helpful..if you're a Leeds supporter even better”
“Visited Leeds, messaged a local mate for lunch recommendations & was ordered here. Absolutely beltin' want to come back. Would highly recommend! The owner just chilling out chatting to customers as we arrived explaining the menu was nice as well. I didn't even know what a super char was nor have I seen anyone dip into the lamb juices and that is mega!”
“My favourite Fish and chips in Kippax! Staff are friendly and efficient. Food is always nicely cooked and wrapped.”
“Lovely food and really friendly, lovely staff. Popped in on a dog walk and couldn’t have been met with lovelier ladies. All made fresh while I waited and they even popped a little treat in for the dog. Thank you so much, we’ll definitely be back!”
“A small but perfectly formed space with great decor, a good selection of drink options and great looking food. Seating indoors and out, friendly staff and real mix of customers from all age groups. Worth a visit if you're in the area but more importantly worth the walk there if you're not.”
“Such a beautiful and attractive place to relax and spend time. There are nice walking areas, interesting architecture, and even the option for a boat trip with the taxi boats. It was really quiet at this time of the year, not crowded at all,I bet during summer there are a lot of people. I bet during summer there's a good variety of restaurants and bars, so everyone can find something to suit their taste and budget, but now the options were quite limited. The dock offers options for spending time outdoors, and exploring the Royal Armouries museum, which is huge and definitely worth a visit. Unfortunately we couldn't visit because it was closed (Monday only). I saw that there are limited options for shopping, comparing with the city centre. Overall,we really liked it and definitely will come back during summer.”
“We had some free tickets to use so went twice in one day! Not much choice for an 11yr old to see so we saw 2 old movies (Hocus pocus and back to the future) I doubt we would have gone if we didn't have free tickets. Seats are comfortable and it wasn't busy.”
“Took the kids for their first camping experience and fair to say we will be going again. My 5 year old loved seeing the bikes and everyone is so polite and friendly. We had food and absolutely loved every bite, the portion sizes are well worth the money. Toilets and showers cleaned regular. Easy access to water if needed. Beautiful place and fantastic people. Thank you for making our first family camping experience one to start many.”
