“Great for food and a drink after a long walk. Rooms look nice as well, though we didn't stay over so I can't comment any further. Staff really nice and welcoming. Classy feel to the place!”
“Brilliant, friendly pub. Dogs are welcome, with water bowls and a treat box. A large outdoor seating area and a decent sized kids play area with swings and slides.”
“Came in about a month ago with my mum, we had some soft drinks and a meal each, everything was spot on. Great addition to have in Sowerby Bridge.”
“Did a gig there decent crowd everyone enjoyed themselfs good to see in this day and age :)”
“Friendly, professional and polite service and delicious food. They prepare the vegetarian roast potatoes and gravy seperate from the regular roast potatoes on request for a fully vegetarian meal. Was a very tasty nut roast. Nice selection of desserts too. There's a lot on the menu to try so I'll have to go back.”
“Love this pub, food excellent staff excellent, nice place to have a function aswel”
“Absolutely amazing! I have been here twice now and I loved both times! I have never seen a takeaway with such diversity on a take away menu. The food is very well priced and so tasty! I can't wait to be a returning customer again and again. The staff are so kind and the driver was lovely. Thank you so much.”
“Had bottomless brunch here with a friend (March 24) Really enjoyed the food, and the service for keeping the drinks topped up was great. Will be booking again at some point.”

“Very clean. Friendly staff, would recommend this place. Just a shame they don't do food”
“Busy pub just outside the bus station. Spacious inside and very spacious outside. They have events on outside at times, which are very popular . I often go in before Huddersfield Town games on Saturday afternoons and it is very busy. Good selection of beers at reasonable prices which compare well with other pubs in town.”
“Great afternoon in the sunshine, new owners are very friendly and have invested to make a family friendly fabulous outdoor entertainment area. With food van and icecreams etc.”
“This is definitely the best Weatherspoons I have ever visited. The staff were very efficient in clearing and cleaning tables down as customers left ( something that lets its Rochdale branch Regal Moon down). Staff were also friendly and polite. The Commercial Inn has a bright airy feel to it and a calm relaxed atmosphere and a lovely view of the church opposite. Our food was nice and hot and well cooked. Excellent value for money too, we had the large breakfast which included a hot drink with free refills, a very pleasurable experience. It will definitely be my go to for breakfast when staying in the area.”
“Great pub with great people and good atmosphere in here now. Will come in whenever I can. Great pub.”
“had 2 all day brunches, food was hot, i could only eat half”
“Good boozers pub, cheap beer. Friendly staff with very casual local atmosphere in 3 downstairs rooms, one large room and 2 smaller rooms. Loads of sport on at least 4 large screens, different sports on every screen. Private seating and smoking area to the rear of the pub. In walking distance to lots of shops, bus stops and a taxi rank.”
“What a lovely place, very friendly staff and the carvery was out of this world! Gorgeous fresh, melt in your mouth meat, home made Yorkshire pudding! Absolutely gorgeous highly recommend”
“Food You can't really beat the breakfast here as its a Premier Inn breakfast, so an all you can eat buffet. The kids, Mrs and myself love it. The only things I would alter is the bacon cooking a bit longer and adding chopped tomatoes, but for the price I won't complain about it. As with all the Premier Breakfasts you get the hot food, cereal, toast, jams, spreads, refils on tea and coffee. Like I said for the price its bang on. Service Each time ee have been here the table service is quick. The staff always make sure your table is free of plates so you can keep topping up the hole your trying to fill. Usually you can pay after your food but we always pay before. We have never had to have staff fix, alter anything while we have visited. Atmosphere Your typical Premier Inn restaurant style place, clean and tidy and kid friendly. Perfect for families or for business trips even if your on your own you cant really knock it.”
“Nice little pub. Great staff, especially the young guy behind the bar who was helpful and friendly.”
“Having recently being diagnosed as coeliac I am anxious about eating out - I advised Lucy T when I sat down and nothing was too much trouble. The menu was clear, she let me know that my food would be cooked in a separate fryer. Attentive with the drinks orders & very friendly. Thank you so much. You have no idea how much you made our evening.”
“First time in great staff a brilliant service family friendly pub brilliant establishment”
“Had a lovely meal at the Pheasant. Food was delicious and served on hot plates. Reasonably priced food, dog and kid friendly. Staff are all very welcoming. The bar tender called Will was brilliant, he was very accommodating and friendly. He couldn't do enough for us, he's an asset to the pub. Would highly recommend.”
“food was delicious and reasonably priced- very generous portion sizes. Service was friendly and the restaurant itself is beautiful- can’t wait to come back.”
“Home made chicken stroganoff and chunky chips.... delish...”
“After walking out of a bar across the road because of terrible .bar service ,me and a friend went in to get a drink . Lovely young lad , friendly and gave us some local knowledge for food. Perfect for a .drink before going to the Grand theatre as just across the road . And with showing out theatre tickets got 10% off.”
“Visited the Angel with my daughter, son-in-law and 8-year old granddaughter. Initial impression was the heating was on and a nice welcome from the staff, a good start! Layout is excellent as there is an area laid out as a dining room with bar situated round the corner at the opposite end of the premises. Service the bar was friendly and very efficient. Our food arrived in a timely fashion and we were satisfied with quantity and quality and felt it was very good value for money. Julie and Lawren (hope I’ve spelt correctly) were a credit to the establishment, thanks, Gerald”
“Very Good Pub for a quick drink Shows Sports and Staff was friendly”
