βA great location close to the city centre (a 10 minute bus ride), and honestly the room was spacious, nicely laid out and had everything we needed. The staff were helpful and friendly (all the housekeeping staff said good morning as they passed you by) and I cannot recommend it enough. The jacuzzi was nice and the view of York racecourse from the terrace was stunning too :)β
βReally lovely old feeling hotel. Staff are friendly and helpful. The room was stunning making you feel like you stepped back in time. Bathroom with the jacuzzi tub and huge walk in shower was amazing. Deffintatly will stay again.β
βStunning hotel with beautiful preserved features, apparently it used to be a manor house and has been used for a hospital in wartime. You can feel the history when you walk through the door. Staff were welcoming when I arrived very late and everyone I encountered was friendly and helpful. The room was lovely with everything I needed, quality toiletries, a comfortable bed and powerful shower. Location was perfect for me, a short drive from the town centre. I was lucky enough to get free street parking right outside the hotel (6pm-8am, then you get an hour so can actually park until 9am). I would definitely stay again and hopefully for longer next time!β
βAbsolutely gorgeous location. Hotel is beautiful, rooms cosy and very clean. Staff friendly and very helpful. Food was delicious. Highly recommend.β
βAll in all we had a very pleasant weekend. We stayed from 29th Nov to 1st Dec. The lady who booked us in on Saturday afternoon was welcoming and informed us of times (and booked us in) for dinner in the beautiful glass walled dining room. The Sunday evening meal was much better than the Saturday (Turkey so dry I was served a spoonful of bits). On Sunday all was cooked well. Also I must mention the lady who waited on our table Becky. She was efficient and pleasant.β
βHaving recently being diagnosed as coeliac I am anxious about eating out - I advised Lucy T when I sat down and nothing was too much trouble. The menu was clear, she let me know that my food would be cooked in a separate fryer. Attentive with the drinks orders & very friendly. Thank you so much. You have no idea how much you made our evening.β
βBeautiful hotel. Our room was plain, but had all we needed including a comfortable bed. Our evening meal was lovely and the young waiting staff did a great job. They were all efficient and also pleasant and friendly. The reception staff were also helpful and friendly. Breakfast had everything we could possibly have wanted. Not a single negative. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.β
βA stayover for a murder mystery in Harrogate. It was a fabulous experience From arriving to leaving. Although a cashless hotel they have items for sale such as jewellery (gorgeous) gloves and handbags on display which were for sale with cash (glad I took cash as I bought some jewellery). The staff were lovely and helpful the food was delicious. The hotel was clean and well kept. I do have 1 small complaint there is a charge of Β£12 to park there which when booked was not advised of. However just so people are aware I did not see the information on the website (maybe I missed it). The murder mystery dinner was really excellent. Would recommend both the "murder mystery" and the hotel.β
βFantastic 2 day stay. Hotel in beautiful grounds with plenty of parking. In a residential area within easy walk of town centre. Love an old hotel that has been modernised. Friendly helpful smartly dressed staff. Room was comfortable with all the facilities you require, including a fan. Clean and modern. We were on the back which was quiet. Breakfast had a good choice and was fresh. We had an evening meal, served in a lovely restaurant. Will definitely stay again. No complaints.β
βCharming place to stay in Wakefield. My friend and I came to stay from Edinburgh to go and see the Yorkshire sculpture park and we had a lovely stay. We got a big, comfortable room with a double and a single bad for a very good price, and for just 5 pounds more we both got free WiFi and breakfast! It was really worth it because the breakfast was nice and very abundant. It had everything from cereal, to full English breakfast. The women working there was also lovely, very kind and helpful. The location is also good, rather close to the station.β
βLovely sam Smith's beers and friendly Landlord and landlady No mobiles or swearing, as Humphrey the Sam Smith's boss has banned them. No reflection on the Bath hotel about this, as it's a good traditional pub with a good range of Yorkshire beers at low pricesβ
βBooked an afternoon tea for two via Groupon, We had a great afternoon tea, it was delicious, fresh and a very good portion and the staff's were very friendly xβ
βTrip to Leeds to take part in the Otley Run (of pubs!). The Ascot Grange is perfectly located at the start of the run and everything was spot on. Easy parking, clean and tidy room, Olla (hope thats spelt correctly) on the front desk was a very nice chap and had a great stay. Many thanks! Mikeβ
βAfter a long hike in the rain me and my partner stopped for a bite to eat and a drink at this quaint little pub. The staff were lovely and dried our coats by the fire while we got some delicious food. For anyone looking for a digital detox and some great conversation be sure to pop in if youβre in the area.β
βThe rooms here are so clean and the beds are amazingly comfortable. In this heat we were happy to see they had a fan in the room. Good shower, TV, everything you need. We asked to have a room away from everyone else because some hotels can be so noisy with people coming in and out their rooms. But here it was completely silent. The staff are also really nice making sure you have everything you need on check in, very accomodating and also making sure we enjoyed our stay when checking out. I think if you have a car it would be good for being a little out of the way of the city centre. There's not much around the hotel but there is a Toby carvery next door, a petrol station and an Asda within walking distance. All in all it was great and exactly what we needed.β
βI had a really pleasant stay here! The staff were very accommodating and took care of everything that I needed. Sometimes went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable. I would stay again!β
βGreat place at great value so close to the city centre, which is only around 20 minutes on foot. Yes the furniture in the room was a little dated, and the wallpaper and paint could do with freshening up, but the rooms are clean and tidy and provide all the amenities with a spacious bedroom and en suite. Rooms are always warm, which was more than welcome from the biting cold outside. If I had to make any criticism it would be the mirror in the bathroom, as I am short, fat and hairy, I had to stand on my tiptoes to shave. But the hosts here are great, and always checking to make sure things are ok and that you have a plentiful supply of tea bags and coffee. They also provide off street parking to the rear of the Inn and while I didnβt sit the bar, it looked like a great place to unwind and they offer bar snacks should you get peckish.β
βAbsolutely amazing hotel with the kindest and most helpful staff. I had an extraordinary situation and the staff have gone out of their way to help me. I am absolutely amazed by their kindness. The rooms are very clean and nice!β
βCanβt fault the hotel . 1. Close 5 minute walk from train station. 2. Check in was quick and easy even upgraded me to executive kindly. Very friendly staff when checking in. 3. I lost my iPhone charger and went down early hours of morning, and kindly wass given a charger to use over night.β
βExcellent experience from start to finish. Staff very friendly and went above and beyond for our stay. They even decorated one of our rooms with birthday banners and balloons as one of our party celebrated their birthday during our stay.β
βWe have stayed in this hotel 3-4 times a year for 6 years and we love it. Great location, clean rooms, great staff, you have everything you need and the breakfast is amazing! I arranged this trip as a suprise for my husband for Christmas and posted some decorations to add to the festive magic! See you next time!β
βThe hotel is excellent value for money. The location is perfect because it is within walking distance to most places youβd visit in York, but at the same time, far enough to have silence at night. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly too.β
βSuperb, professional staff: my car ran into engine problems, so I parked it on the car park. The reception staff came out to offer assistance and cold drinks on sweltering 30C day. This was heaven sent with the air conditioned reception offering a welcome respite for my wife young daughter, nephew, and mum, while I waited for breakdown assistance. It's refreshingly pleasant to know first rate customer service is still out there. Thank you sincerely from myself and family.β
βHad a lovely 3 night stay here with my daughter. The hotel is clean and comfortable and the staff are genuinely friendly and take time to engage with their guests - we really felt welcomed. The buffet breakfast selection was good and items regularly replenished. The location is very central - it's an easy walk from the station, and public transport is good. Also lots of cafes, bars and eating places nearby. We took local buses to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park and to Sandal Castle, and hopped on Wakefield's free bus to get to and from the Hepworth Gallery. Would definitely stay here again.β
βHad a nice stay at this hotel ,the room was nice and the breakfast probably the best I've had at ihg hotel for many years Natalie was so professional and helpful at check in nothing was a problem to her such a credit to the hotel The manager on duty at the time Ash served with a smile on her face as did colleague April Will definitely stay here againβ
βThis hotel is ideally located a 5 minute walk from Hornbeam Park train station, so it's easy to get a train to Harrogate centre, Knaresborough, York or Leeds. There is ample parking. The staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. The room was clean, comfortable bed and pillows, good shower (overwhelmed bath). Good breakfast options.β
βGreat hosts went over and above with a warm welcome. Such a beautiful spot. We enjoyed a great walk in Harewood house estate and an afternoon in Harrogate.β
βGreat rental properties close to the centre of Leeds. Brilliant landlord, superb house, highly recommended!β
βMy dogs 2nd home, if you are looking for dog sitting/boarding option you wonβt get much better, reasonable price, caring, family focused. Excellent.β
βNemo is great - he has extremely high standards and knows the importance of technique. Our 8 year old made more progress with Nemo in 3 months than the 5 years at the previous swim school!β
