“Went here for my son's birthday tonight for the first time in ages (we used to live nearby but moved further away). The service was absolutely incredible and the food was amazing. We were very happy that they were open on a Monday so that we could have a meal out on his birthday. Thanks so much to everyone involved in preparing and serving our food and drinks.”

“This is the perfect spot for a work dinner or large group event. The staff were incredibly polite and did an outstanding job of catering to our big party. The food was absolutely delicious, and I was particularly impressed with the excellent vegan options. And I can’t forget to mention the amazing pizzas—they were absolutely huge! Overall it was a wonderful experience.”

“Don't make the mistake that I did and assumed there was some seating area as there is not. I love coming for the cannolis (although they are a bit pricey for the size you get) and this time I got the chocolate filled croissant which was nice. Overall a 7/10”

“Wonderful sandwiches, cakes and pies with friendly and helpful staff. This place is always packed during lunches, and it is obvious why, the food is very well priced and extremely well made, beyond that the staff get to know their regulars but are just as helpful to those, like me, who are only in every now and then. Fantastic place!”

“One of my favourite Thai places in York. The food here is absolutely delicious and great as a dine in or takeaway option. The gluten free options are clearly labelled on the menu with quite a few different dishes being gf. The only thing to note is that when I said I was a coeliac, I was told the gf labelled fish cakes wouldn't be suitable due to cooking methods creating cross contamination. While it is really good that the staff are so well trained in dietary requirements and were able to tell me this clearly to prevent me from getting poorly, it is a shame that something labelled gluten free on the menu wasn't ultimately suitable for coeliacs. They instead advised a different gluten free starter which ended being fantastic.”

“Arrived in York and wandered round from where we were staying. We popped in on the off chance. Excellent decision! Staff very friendly and attentive, atmosphere lovely and both my husband and I had the best pizzas we have had in a very long time- the base was light and crisp, toppings we plenty and tasty. We will definitely come back during our visit here.”

“It may be an Italian in a small village but the food , service and atmosphere is one that belongs in a Michelin Star restaurant. Ameer works front of house and when needs is also a dab hand in the kitchen . His staff whilst local and young are all friendly and it’s great to see a local restaurant employing local staff . The Italian Chef Pepe is amazing and between my fiancé and I we have had the whole menu from salads to steaks , pasta to sorbet and the food is always delicious and exceptional and exceptional value for money . I cannot wait to fetch 40 something of my friends for my Hen Do and introduce them all to the best hidden Italian gem in the county . You were the best find 4 years ago and will continue to be our place to go for special occasions or just like tonight Bob in for tea after a busy weekend.”

“We hadn’t been to Devour for a while and decided to go as a Friday night treat — it was just lovely. Such a nice atmosphere in both the bar and restaurant. The lighting and music were spot on — calm, relaxed and easy to chat without any distractions. The team were friendly and attentive, drinks and wine were great, and the food was absolutely delicious. Everything was beautifully presented, with so much care in the details — the crockery, glassware, table settings, and the gorgeous autumnal flower displays in the windows. It’s tough for hospitality at the moment, but Devour have created something really special and clearly work hard to keep it that way. Every part of it feels cared for — from the bar and restaurant to the garden and even the car park, which is neat, tidy and beautifully lit. We spent around £60 per person including cocktails, starters, a large sharing main with sides, wine, and a shared dessert — good value for the quality and experience. Everything about it just feels considered and done with pride. Definitely worth a visit if you’re after a relaxed but special evening out.”

“Had an amazing meal at Pizza Freak The freakin' carbonara pizza was everything I hoped for and more. The creamy white sauce, smoky pancetta, and perfectly cooked egg brought so much authentic flavour to a pizza, and the quality of the ingredients really shone through. We also started with the tomato basil arancini, and they were outstanding. Crispy on the outside, with a beautifully soft and gooey centre. Everything was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was great and the service was super friendly. This place is a must-visit.”

“We've walked past Napoli so many times but a couple of months ago our regular Horsforth Italian let us down, completely missing a reservation. Napoli fitted us all in, and the atmosphere, food, drinks and service were all terrific. Been back a few times since, always great, and discovered takeaway is also available. In our opinion, the best Italian food around, lovely fresh ingredients, great atmosphere and really friendly, helpful staff. Place deserves to be full, all the time.”
