βWonderful large area of nature just outside the city centre. I've spent well over 70 hours here walking and bird watching over the 3 years I've been in Leicester. I often walk in the mornings and everyone I've spoken with, even just briefly, has been very nice and welcoming. There are many different walking routes - accessible ones and some muddier. It takes about an hour to walk from one end to the other and there are maps situated all around. I'd recommend checking out the Facebook group if you'd like to see some of the nice wildlife photos taken there and the website/app eBird if you want a very thorough overview of the birds there. The main problem is during school holidays when it gets a lot noisier and unfortunately a lot of litter gets left behind.β
βBig thank you to Mike, one of the volunteers who took the time to show me round the shed today. Many thanks Mike for all the information about the old buses & vehicles. You made my visit to Leicester all the better! I would recommend anyone to take the time out of there day to visit this small museum, very enjoyable. Super friendly staff.β
βWe had a 2 night break at this gem of a place. The room was very clean and really well presented. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a great break. It's perfectly placed to explore Rutland water and lots of other nearby attractions. The food was always excellent and the lunches were superb value for money. We will definitely be returning and look forward to it.β
βLove the quality of pools and professional staffβ
βA small but amazing patch of bluebell wood hidden away behind a housing estate. There was no helpful information at all and it took me ages to figure out how to get there, but it was well worth the effort.β
βA great varied reserve with open meadows, reedbeds, and ponds. Good location for redwings (along the pathways), and starling murmurations in the winter, buzzards and kestrels, barn owls, and a variety of waterfowl.β
βRutland waters have always been pleasurable getaway from everyday busy life. Calm beautiful lake with huge car park, cafΓ©s, public toilets and plenty of bins located convincingly everywhere. Can easily spend a nice day out with friends and family, on a good sunny day, you can even get a boat ride too. Lots of benches to sit and enjoy the view of open landscapes and country side air. Always peaceful and quiet, it can get a little busy during summer times but plenty of space for everyone to relax.. Well maintained overall! Highly recommend to anyone wanting to just relax and get away for a day!β
βA lovely place for a picnic. Great dog walks and lots of free fruit to pick. Highly recommend a visit.β

βMy daughter celebrated her 7th birthday party with friends at the leisure centre where they do float parties and an obstacle course. The staff at the centre were very organised and super helpful with any questions or help we needed. The lifeguards were great with the kids and informed them of keeping safe in the pool. Would recommend booking a party here!β
βLovely food, had the goats cheese starter and pizza.β
βExcellent, welcomed by all staff and locals. Making (the walking in a pub) a better feeling. Never known a welcoming atmosphere. I have gotten to know the staff and some of the locals. Unfortunately, no food is served here, but mush to me, making this my local. Thanks, Blacksmiths Arms (Sally) Excellent service Manager/Owner.β
βVisited the restaurant on Friday 14th February with my wife and 2 children. What a nice place to go for an Indian meal! All staff were very pleasant and food was exceptional. As it was Valentineβs Day all the ladies were given a red rose. Very nice touch. Will be going back again 5* (edited sorry 14th)β

βits best food delivered takeaway in the Leceister. I live in london, I came here to my sister place and order some food from this takeaway. I must say that all food is awesome. I am sure that everyone will like food of this takeaway.β
βBy far the Coco Ice always beat the local competitors. The dutch pancakeβs are cooked to perfection and the service is always top notch. Khaled has always come out to be the best in what he does and this place is the best desert shop in the local area. I would certainly recommend to try the pancakes along with the cookie dough. The raspberry and pistachio cookie dough is full of flavours and not overly sweet sickling. Thanks khaled and the team, see you soon.β
βAmazing little place for younger kids. My son is 7 and he loves every minute of it. The only slight dissapoint for me is the quality of food so we always take our own so no drama for us reallyβ

βmy memories are different of the playground. Now it is functional for adult exercise. Great idea but for me, I loved the climbing frames, etc, of the past. Park looks well maintained, which is a blessing. Football in the centre circle of trees. Almost 50 years on. What an achievement.β

βHighly rate the Hideaway Cafe! Ordered two breakfasts one of which was gluten free and two lunches, again one was gluten free. Everything was labelled clearly so there was no cross contamination. Considering we live 20-30 minutes away every thing arrived warm and in excellent time! The gentleman that delivered was very considerate, kind and friendly at the door and ensured social distancing applied and the person behind the phone taking my order was very kind and polite also. The food was lovely and very fresh! Considering we hadnβt been to a cafe for months it brought back the smell taste and experience to our home :) it was thoroughly enjoyed!!! Thank you!β
