“We booked the marquee for a wedding celebration. Paul and his staff were really helpful and sorted out all of our requests with no fuss, and at a reasonable price. Food was great. Outdoor space for a fire pit, games, and camping. Marquee looked beautiful with the lighting and some decoration. No complaints from me.”

“Even though I have been for a few nights out in Parkgate during the last few years, I've only just gone in to The Red Lion! I wasn't sure what to expect but oh wow...I was pleasantly surprised and had a wonderful evening. It is warm, welcoming and friendly from the start. There is a cosy open log fire, a vast array of drinks to choose from, good wines, great non-alcoholic beer selection and comfy seats. We were a few seats short for our group but the manager went out of his way to re-arrange a few things and make it work for us...and he did so with a smile and a great attitude. He made sure to talk to the locals and overall this place just has that really honest, decent feeling you want from a local pub. It's recently been redecorated I believe and it looks really great in there, there is also plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy the stunning Parkgate view. This pub is a must on your visit to Parkgate.”

“Black Cat is hands down my favourite bar on Smithdown Road. It's got everything you could want from a local. Great and ever changing selection of ales, lagers and gins. Food available from Basha next door. Two excellent pub quizzes on a Wednesday & a Sunday (booking a table via their website is advised, it's very popular). Loads of seating areas, sport shown on multiple TVs and the bar staff are a delight. Can't recommend it highly enough.”

“We go to the showcase weekly. The people who work there are absolutely lovely and so helpful and knowledgeable. Danielle, in particular, is great. I’m disappointed to see that she’s no longer on the desk and there is a self serve screen to use instead. Nobody likes faffing around with self serve in the cinema. It’s the main reason we don’t go to the Odeon at Switch Island; it’s annoying, takes longer and removes the human connection that makes the Showcase different to other cinemas. As well as Danielle, the security guard (I don’t know his name sorry) is really helpful and knowledgeable about the films being shown. Every other member of staff has always been really helpful and nice too. The people who work there are what differentiates the Showcase from other cinemas. I could stay home and stream a film or I can go to the Showcase and talk to nice, interesting people who always go the extra mile and can discuss a film with us. There are bigger cinemas, posher cinemas, cheaper cinemas, etc but the people who work there are what makes the Showcase stand out. Thank you”

The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, making it a perfect place to relax and enjoy lunch. The service truly stood out: Aline and Jackson looked after us exceptionally well. They were friendly, attentive, and professional, and made us feel genuinely welcome from start to finish. Everything was perfectly timed and we never felt rushed. “Lanigan's bar in Liverpool, located on Ranelagh st, what are cracking pub this is, if you want to see one of the best pubs in Liverpool, then this is it, 200 yards south of the adelphi hotel, and what makes it even better is it beautiful barmaid. Lots of supposed Irish pubs on Ranelagh st, but this pub is the real McCoy and to cap it all,it sells John Smiths -a proper pub!”

“Great find off the beaten track alongside a canal. This spot offers a great relaxing atmosphere with comfortable indoor or outdoor seating and friendly staff. Great selection of Gin's and beers on offer, we didnt have food here so cant comment there. Well worth the visit. While in Chester, this a must visit.”
