“What a find just along from Penny Lane. A real hidden gem of a restaurant. Unassuming from the outside but tastefully done on the inside. Very well themed very clean and a very pleasant setting for an afternoon tea and cake, glass of wine or cocktail, small plates, or in fact an excellent range of starters, main courses, and deserts. All good portions, well presented, and delicious. The staff were all very friendly and attentive, offering an excellent service. We will definitely be returning soon. Highly recommended.”

“Such a nice chill vibe but not uncomfortable quiet! Food was delish and very reasonable price! Ended up ordering a lot even though I was supposed to be a light snack! Get ready for a cosy autumnal afternoon! Lentil soup was £4! No overpowering flavours just wholesome! I would have personally enjoyed some more seasoning with the Hummus maybe sort of molasses drizzle to give it an uplevel! But was still nice! £5 and come with home made pitta breads! The mixed shish wrap £10 comes with chips! Very flavourful and filling! Tacos were really nice! Good flavour!”

“This was me and my sisters first time visiting Liverpool and Byron. The atmosphere and the food was really great. Our server Sienna was so lovely and extremely thorough with our allergies. We felt very looked after and had a lovely time. Thank you Sienna for being so caring it really means a lot :)”

“Went for lunch here with my sister, would highly recommend. We had the scallops, king prawns, steak tartare and beetroot to start and all the dishes were well presented and packed with flavour. We then shared a ribeye with the gravy, cauliflower cheese and cabbage. We paired our food with dirty martinis and spicy mango margaritas. Absolutely flawless food and incredible drinks, we couldn’t fault it. We were looked after by the lovely Dan, who had the perfect balance of attentiveness without being overbearing. We felt really well looked after and was able to sit back, chat and relax. Thank you to Dan for ensuring we had the perfect meal. If you’re looking for a high end dining experience with high quality food and drinks, RBG is the place to be!”

“Lovely calm atmosphere. Staff are very friendly and quick to seat you and serve drinks. Food is amazing, it was our second visit this year and I had the same food as the first time. It was just as good, I wish we lived closer! You're not waiting long for food either. Just great all round!”

“This is our favourite place to eat and drink before shows in Liverpool! The drinks menu is huge - we absolutely love trying as many different cocktails as we can. So fun to pick different flavours and exciting seeing what turns up and how they are presented. Having so much unusual and unique drink choices really adds to the experience. The food is also incredible - we have never ever had a bad meal here and the food is always delicious. We are always spoilt for choice on what to order and we enjoy every bite. I feel like the Alchemist is known more for drinks but the food is underestimated and doesn’t get enough credit. Finally, the staff here really make the place; they’re so friendly, helpful and can’t do enough for you. They make you feel like the only customer there. My only tiny gripe is that I find the music to be a bit too loud/intrusive sometimes when trying to hold a conversation and you sometimes have to shout a bit to talk and be heard. Overall, I can't recommend enough! This continues to be our go-to place for food and drink dates.”

Despite the short notice, the staff at Premier Inn Rainhill were incredibly welcoming and helpful, especially Dave, who went above and beyond to make our stay smooth and comfortable. The hotel is small and located a bit far from the city centre, but the area is peaceful and well-connected, making it a convenient choice if you're okay with a short commute. Dave made a real difference—he was attentive, friendly, and ensured we had everything we needed throughout our stay. Overall, a great experience that turned a stressful day into a comfortable one. “Went for lunch and I had chargrilled chicken rigatoni. My wife had pan fried salmon gnocchi and my son had sirloin steak. Not one complaint or critique!!! The food was absolutely gorgeous!! Worth every penny!!!”

“As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a big smile and told to sit wherever we fancied. Straight away, the atmosphere felt dead friendly ☺️ Food: The food was bang on. Everything tasted fresh, and the chips? Honestly, the best I’ve had in ages – proper crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. Oh, and the peas – proper traditional peas, like they used to be, made with fresh marrowfat. Portions were spot on, and it’s great value for money. I loved the specials like chicken curry and hot pot. They’ve even got calories on the menu, which stood out for me straight away. Service: The service was cracking, especially since it was just one person running the show. She kept everyone updated, saying stuff like, “We’re just waiting on chips for 10 minutes,” and she even apologised for the wait (not that we minded, fresh food is worth it!). Nothing was too much trouble – I even heard someone come in with a “weird” order, and she just sorted it, no stress. She made sure we were happy with our food, which you don’t always get these days. Atmosphere: This is what made it for us. Me and the husband both said it felt proper homely. Even with kids messing about, she handled it brilliantly, explaining how they should behave so no one else got disturbed. When it quietened down, she had a little chat with us, and she was so warm and lovely – made us feel right at home. Cleanliness: The place was spotless. She was constantly wiping tables and washing her hands before touching food. She even explained what she was doing and asked us to give her a minute – proper good communication. Overall: Alison’s is a proper hidden gem. It’s cozy, the food’s amazing, and the sense of community is something special. Honestly, it’s well worth a visit – you won’t regret it. Oh, and the tea? Comes in a proper mug – just like at home.”

“Top notch restaurant! Absolutely amazing food there, well presented, served hot and sometimes cooked at table. Place itself is well decorated and appointed. Nice lighting and vibe. Lots of seating, from 2 seat tables to full large booths and tables. Food was exceptional! Was really impressed. Had the popadum starter with a huge variety of chutneys and sauces. The slightly hot and sweet chilli was best but mango was good too. My partner had the chicken masala which was tasty and my lamb bhuna was very tasty indeed! Partner had a salmon starter and i had a kofta, these were serves sizzling in a hot dish and the flavour was first class. Will definitely be going again! Reasonable prices too, especially wed and thurs as i think is two for one. Bargain! Really good service too but beware, no desserts, was hoping for a pallette cleansing kulfi, lol.”

“I would recommend booking before arriving for a Sunday roast as this place was absolutely buzzing! The soup of the day was melt in your mouth delicious and flavoured perfectly! We tried the chicken, pork and beef roasts. They were equally amazing. I preferred the chicken as it came with crispy skin. The pork came with wonderful crackling if that's your bag. You cannot leave here without having pudding. The brownie, cheesecake and toffee pudding were out of this world. The kitchen is on point with timing and the wait staff did them proud despite how busy it was. Lovely, warm, welcoming and worth a visit for sure. You won't regret it!”

“Excellent location in the centre of town, perfect for an away fan going to Wrexham. Staff were all very friendly and happy to help. They let us park in the car park early before check in. Lovely clean rooms with everything you expect and need for a short stay. Breakfast was lovely. Overall great value for money, if I'm ever back in the town I will definitely stay here again.”
