“My feisty chinchilla was laid low with tooth problems but after treatment is fit and well. The history taken before the op was thorough and detailed. I was kept informed throughout and meticulously advised on her meds and how to administer. So much care and trouble has been taken every step of the way. I have not, in 20 years of keeping chinchillas, encountered such a high standard of care. Thank you, lovely people :)”

They did exemplary research and give our Harvey the best treatment he could possibly have, all while keeping us informed and that’s what any dog mom could ask for. “What a lovely place and service. Raj has been truly amazing in devoting his time and patience to desensitising my dog who was severly anxious of vet visits in the past. He has won his trust and confidence and can now be examined and treated while remaining calm - he is a different dog and Raj a "dog whisperer"! Also special mention to the reception staff who are always so friendly, especially Lizzie who never fails to greet us with a smile and genuine interest.”

“So grateful for the wonderful staff here. My dog ripped her toenail - hardly life threatening but obviously painful and causing her distress. I called Stone Lion and they gave us an appointment within a couple of hours, then despite being clearly very busy saw us promptly and sorted it out with all of the compassion that an emotional Staffordshire Bull Terrier needs. The reception staff were great too, they clearly care as much as the clinical staff. Thank you!!”

“10/10/25 Saturday Today was a sad day. Our sweet 18½ year old cat Lady suffered a stroke. Our vets was closed and I managed to get through to a lovely young lady on the emergency number who took brief details and said she would get a team ready for our arrival. As we walked in with Lady cradled in a blanket 25/30 mins later that young lady saw us and got straight on the phone to alert the team. We didn't have time to breath, Lady was whisked away with a quick explanation of what was happening. We were shown to a quiet room as we were clearly distressed. We instructed no resuss due to what was happening and Ladys age, and requested that we be present knowing the end was near. We were constantly updated. The important message that Lady was sedated and had pain meds was a relief. Lady had had a stroke. Her age to us was fantastic she had a great lazy life, pampered! It wasn't fair to push her into staying so the decision to let her rest was agreed by us all. I think the wonderful vet was Cherrildine. She was the most caring and considerate person. She explained everything. She gave us time. Nothing was too much trouble. She went above and beyond. Thank you. We were in such a whirlwind that any names are a blur . The receptionist, all the nurses involved and the Vet. Were all AMAZING. We can't thank you all enough for making such a sad time go so smoothly. Keep doing what you do. Thank you and all the very best Sharmayne and Les Chilvers”

“I have been using Active Pet for the last 4 years both with my Labrador Retriever and Coonhound Cross, both of whom have had complex joint issues. Phillipa has been amazing and has made a huge positive impact on their quality of life in their later years. They are always happy to arrive and trot in for what we refer to as ‘spa day’. I would highly recommend her. Treatments have included hydrotherapy and laser therapy and a little incentivised homework of course.”

“I’m so grateful for the wonderful care my dog Lucky received at Vets on the Common. Everyone there is not only professional but also incredibly kind and human. Lucky had an ear infection that her old vet couldn’t fix for over a year, but Dr. Ellie got it healed in just a week with the right tests and treatment. She also had dental surgery and a cyst removed, and the team kept us updated during the procedure and even checked in the next day to see how she was doing. We felt truly cared for every step of the way.”
