    Hollybank

    ★★☆☆☆ 2.4 (20 Reviews) Open

“I do not usually leave reviews. I read some really negative comments below. I wanted to say this has not been our experience at all. Hollybank it’s self is a well maintained building that has just been updated. It’s bright and cheerful. All efforts have been made with consideration all the children’s needs. I have only ever seen the place look very clean and tidy. They even pop my child clothes in the wash if get used during her stay. Which is very helpful and appreciated. All the staff I have found to be warm and friendly. With complete commitment to treating all the children with love and care. The staff are very special people that should be commended for all their hard work. The staff go above and beyond to make each individual child happy. For example when my daughter when stays they get all the food she likes make they buy her favourite food like strawberries. This attention to detail is very heartwarming and means a lot as a parent. I have bumped in to a hollybank member of staff she recognised me and we had a lovely chat about my daughter. In other reviews below Pat the manager has was brought up I have always found her great to go to if I need help or information regarding my child. There are many staff that all deserve a shout out but I am just going to mention Matthew as he got some negative feed back. I believe this is completely unjustified. Matthew is an amazing nurse. He looks after the children with true care and compassion, while being always be professional. I am truly glad someone like him is looking after my child. He is kind, caring and funny my daughter loves him. Although I think she can be a little bit naughty for him, he takes this all in his stride. Especially as he time to get to know her so well. Any time he needs to know or check something about My child he will call me. I personally like him very much and appreciate all his had work. Appreciate all the hollybank and staff. I wish I could show my gratitude to each and every member of staff, they make a huge difference in the lives of families with special needs children. I feel so fortunate to have my child being looked after by such wonderful people.”

“I wanted to update you regarding the feedback from M Tomcalova. The information provided is factually incorrect. Google will not take the information down so we hope that you read this review. We are a highly rated practice and you are able to see from our patient experience surveys for 2017 that the majority of our patients highly rate the services that we provide at the Practice. We have robust complaints practice for patients for when they feel our service falls below standard. We would very much encourage this patient to contact us either verbally or in writing and we could of investigated in detail their concerns.”

“I can't recall meeting a kinder more caring GP, without exception or exaggeration. Dr Qureshi didn't just listen to me, I honestly felt heard, which is different, and cannot be underestimated. She was very easy to talk to. It was very clear to me that Dr Qureshi took an interest in my symptoms, as she asked me relevant follow-up questions. She was very reassuring and gave me lots of very helpful advice. She was so genuinely caring and addressed my concerns very thoroughly and knowledgeably. What really stood out though, was that despite the immense time pressures on GPs these days, at no point whatsoever did I feel rushed at all, not one iota. I was very worried and anxious about my symptoms before my appt, but came away from the consultation feeling so much more positive and hopeful. This was solely down to Dr Qureshi and her exceptional manner. There's hope yet for the NHS! :)”

“Potential Problems When Reducing and Discontinuing Neuroleptics Note: The following two sections are an excerpt translated by Markus Kaufmann (member of the expert committee) from Breggin 2013 (pp. 119 ff.). Dr. Peter Breggin is an American psychiatrist with extensive experience in reducing and discontinuing psychotropic medications. There is currently very little literature on this topic, particularly regarding the criteria for distinguishing between discontinuation symptoms and symptoms of the underlying psychiatric illness. "Any psychotropic drug can produce withdrawal or discontinuation symptoms. This occurs partly because the brain adapts to the psychotropic drug and is left in an abnormally compensated state when the dose of a medication is reduced or the medication is discontinued." ``` The following symptoms may occur when reducing and discontinuing neuroleptics: 1. Psychotic symptoms may occur during reduction and discontinuation as a result of changes in brain metabolism. They cannot always be reliably distinguished from the original psychotic disorder. They usually develop within days of the reduction and generally improve after 2–3 weeks. 2. Emotional lability or instability (such as anxiety, restlessness, paranoid reactions, depression, irritability, aggression, and increased energy). These also usually develop within days or weeks after reducing or discontinuing the medication. 3. Sleep disturbances can be distressing and contribute to instability. 4. Movement disorders (such as muscle stiffness, tremors, involuntary movements of the face, lips, jaw, tongue, arms, wrists, hands, fingers, legs, knees, toes, neck, shoulders, hips, restlessness) can, in rare cases, be pronounced and associated with restlessness and anxiety. 5. Cognitive impairments such as difficulty concentrating, attention deficit, forgetfulness, and distractibility. 6. Gastrointestinal problems such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and abdominal pain. 7. Other physical symptoms such as flu-like symptoms including malaise, sweating, muscle cramps, paresthesia, rapid heartbeat, increased pain sensitivity, headaches, dizziness, and high blood pressure. The extent of these symptoms is significantly influenced by the size of the reduction step. Therefore, it is crucial to proceed slowly and with small reduction steps. Psychotropic medications are far, far more dangerous than the doctors who prescribe them would ever admit. I firmly believe that most people would never use psychotropic medications if they knew how dangerous they are, and I also believe that most doctors would stop prescribing them if they had any idea how dangerous they are. In 2003, the FDA added a warning about the increased risk of stroke to the U.S. prescribing information for risperidone. The same warning followed in 2004 for olanzapine and in 2005 for aripiprazole. Mood stabilizers are anticonvulsants that do not stabilize mood, but suppress emotional responses by sedating and calming people. Psychiatrists have never precisely defined this term. It's no surprise that doctors believe anticonvulsants work for mania, since anything that sedates people helps with mania. All information is provided without guarantee. This is simply meant to be constructive criticism that might help someone.”
