“Wonderful stay at Southgate premier inn. The staff were excellent, friendly and polite. Short walk to Southgate underground to get into central London. Have a fantastic stay with family..”
“Stayed for two nights a week ago and found 99.9% of everything to our liking. (0.1% taken off owing to the miniscule sheet size of the toilet paper!!) Central position with a Macs and M&S next door!! Adjacent carpark (separate company) clean and plenty of spaces, plus, owing to the hotel's current building work, the barrier was not in use so we just drove in and parked up, having pre-paid. Would stay again (and bring my own toilet roll!!)”
“Decent buffet breakfast for 11.99 for people that don't even stay: they advertise on the window. Nice staff and all you could ask in a breakfast. Cooked, fruit salad, pastries, hot drinks.”
“The hotel is excellent and we had a wonderful stay. We had a small issue with the heating in our room, which was resolved within 30 minutes. We also needed help getting a taxi, and Bashar was incredibly supportive and helpful, giving us the best advice possible. Thank you for the great service and hospitality.”
“We enjoyed everything about our 2 night stay. The location was convenient, the food was delicious, the staff were helpful and friendly, the room was comfortable, and the check in-out process was smooth.”
“Lovely sized room, helpful, chatty, friendly staff, lovely surroundings, good selection of breakfast food (including ham and cheese for the Continental breakfast!). Having stayed in half a dozen Premier Inns, I would say so far this is the Premier, Premier Inn. We got a complimentary glass of Prosecco each, whilst waiting for our taxi in the evening. The lovely lady staff member, who got us it, said that they give this to guests, to welcome them into the weekend. What a lovely, thoughtful, and added bonus for this experience. Although it varies from place to place, I have come to expect good service, rooms, and food from Premier Inn. They, as a company, help to make the experience.”
“We stayed here for 1 night while spending the weekend in London. The hotel is situated just a couple of minutes walk from Blackfriars station, which serves both the circle and district lines, as well as Thameslink, meaning it's easy to get anywhere in London from here. The room was very clean and spacious. You know what you're getting with a Premier Inn. Bed was comfortable and it was pitch black at night time. We heard no noises from other rooms. It was a very quiet night's sleep. TV has a really wide selection of channels and it worked, which is generally a bonus when staying in a hotel. There's usually an issue with the TV everywhere you go. I'm sure we only paid for a standard room but where put into a Premium room, which came with a Nespresso coffee machine. Great for someone like me who loves a morning coffee. The staff in the hotel were incredibly friendly. One name I'd like to mention in particular is Yusuf, who was working around the reception area. He was so polite and friendly and is an absolute asset to the company. I don't know if anyone reads these reviews, but if you do, please pass this on to management. The only downside to this hotel was the price. Working in the travel industry I understand how and why prices can fluctuate, but the cost of this room increased by £50 overnight, and we ended up paying just over £300 for 1 night's stay, which for a Premier Inn seems a bit excessive, despite the location. We didn't try the food at the hotel as we visited to do shopping and try out the famous food markets. However based on the staff, the room and the location i would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of visiting London.”
“Second time staying here in 2025. It’s a great hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are clean and modern with the required facilities. The breakfast buffet is very good with lots of different options. The location is super convenient for most tourist attractions. The Waterloo station is just a few minutes walk from the hotel.”
“I chose the Leonardo Hotel as the destination for my birthday party, and overall, it was a fantastic choice. The hotel’s central location just steps from the tube and the Tower of London made it incredibly convenient for getting around. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the hotel’s style and attention to detail. The welcome was warm, with thoughtful touches like complimentary drinks and magazines at the entrance. The breakfast buffet was another highlight: varied, plentiful, and delicious. Staff throughout the hotel were courteous, professional, and genuinely helpful. The only downside—and I say this with some regret—was the cleanliness of the bed sheets in my room. Unfortunately, they had mold stains, which was disappointing. However, reception responded very quickly and professionally, had the sheets changed right away, and reported the issue to their superiors. Their swift action helped mitigate the problem. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was a lovely experience as well. The menu offered a good variety, the service was attentive, and the atmosphere was calm and relaxing—perfect for the occasion. Despite the issue with the sheets, I would still recommend the Leonardo Hotel and would happily return for another stay. With just a little more attention to housekeeping, it would have been perfect.”
“Really nice hotel and great value for money. Staff were friendly. Rooms were immaculate. Breakfast was great. Only mild concern was the location? It felt quite out of place and the direct route from Whitechapel tube station feels quite dodgy especially at night. Some great food places around the area though.”
“Park Plaza Waterloo by Radisson, I’ve had the pleasure of staying at Park Plaza Waterloo by Radisson almost every week during my business trips, and it has quickly become one of my favourite hotels in London. • Location: The hotel is perfectly situated just a few meters from Lambeth North Tube Station, making travel around the city effortless. • Views: Many rooms offer a stunning view of the London Eye, which adds a special touch to each stay. • Service: The staff are consistently welcoming and professional. A special mention goes to Volter from the front office/ Reception, who has always been extremely helpful and attentive, ensuring my stays are smooth and enjoyable. • Overall Experience: The combination of convenience, comfort, and excellent service makes Park Plaza Waterloo a top choice for both business and leisure travelers. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting London, it truly feels like a home away from home.”
“Stayed here a few nights with husband and 2 small kids aged 3 and 6. Our room had 2 double beds and a shower room with shower gel and shampoo. Black out blinds and little fridge and kettle . The bed was clean and very cozy. We had booked last minute and was greeted by Harry on front desk. Who was very welcoming and smiling. It was the start of a wonderful first stay. The suna and steam room are great size and lovely . And the swimming pool was great and good temperature for the kids. Good transport links to the greenwhich o2. Our stay came with breakfast. Great options and fresh food. Lovely service especially form a young slim black boy with short hair, Indian lady and a girl from Hong Kong named Anisha. Was all lovely … no complaints. Chinese restaurant round the corner as we didn’t stay for dinner only had booked breakfast. Would return. Thank you!”
“I stayed here recently and had a great experience. The hotel was clean. The room was small but cozy, and the bathroom was spotless. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall, a pleasant stay — I’d definitely recommend it to any traveler passing through the area.”
“Naturally with London there were plenty of Premier Inn options to choose from. And I'm glad we picked here! The location was great, a short walk you were either at Tate Modern, The Shard, Borough Market or Southwark Station. We had a Premier Inn Plus room and it was modern and very clean. The staff as well were friendly. Next time I visit London, I would happily stay here again!”
“Stay here a few times, for the value you seriously can't fault Mama Shelter. Always very welcoming and the rooms and furnished to a high standard and always clean. Some nice extras and great breakfast. The restaurant downstairs is super tasty and offers a unique room service/pick-up system. If you stay at The Hoxton, Mama Shelter gives a similar feel (same group) - location is ok but not the best.”
“Very nice hotel. Room was spacious, there was ironing equipment in the room. Despite being very close to the airport and train tracks, the rooms are perfectly sound proofed. Aircon is also very efficient and quiet. I enjoyed my stay.”
“One of the best Hamptons I’ve stayed in. Our king room had a small desk and a proper shower with a door (it’s rare you see doors nowadays). Gary at the front desk and his team were so friendly and helpful. The entire hotel was spotless. Our week long stay was very comfortable!”
“Great little modern hotel in a very handy location. The rooms are on the smaller side but well designed, and very quiet. The breakfast is good value. And a huge shout out to the exceptional staff, especially the lovely lady who helped me extend my stay. She went the extra mile.”
“This is such a great place to stay! I felt safe and well cared for in this hotel. The breakfast crew was so welcoming and fun! A big shout out to Roger, Richard, Shanel, and Anjali for their fun attitudes and help every morning! The location is great, with just a short tube ride to get anywhere in the city from Earl’s Court Station.”
“We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! It’s perfectly located, just a few minutes from the metro, in a lively business district with plenty of restaurants and cafés nearby. Great for breakfast or lunch outside — but the hotel restaurant is also excellent, with a lovely atmosphere and delicious food. The room was very comfortable, quiet, and well-equipped with everything we needed. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, special mention to Ihjas. Our children were so happy to celebrate their birthday in London, and we’ll keep such great memories of our stay. We’ll definitely be back soon for our next trip to London!”
“Stayed here for 1 night after a day out in London. We arrived at 3pm, and checked in very quickly. They are currently renovating the rooms, but this wasnt reflected upon arrival (high standards etc) We had a free room upgrade to one of their new rooms overlooking the docks. As an IHG member we could of got a late check out but unfortunately we had to be home early. The floor we were on, was very nice and you could tell it had been renovated, it was very appealing. The room itself was very spacious, clean and trendy. The window was like a door and opened wide overlooking the docks, it was really pleasant. Bed was super comfy as were the pillows, the bathroom had an amazing shower and a big mirror. We didn't have an evening meal there but there menu was good and you had the option of room service too. Although close to the nightlife of Camden, the windows were soundproofed from the main hustle and bustle although a bit of noise seeped though... we were provided with ear plugs which was a nice touch (we didn't use them, but I definitely took them home with me!). Slept really well. Had breakfast in the morning which was well attended by staff, they were very helpful. Breakfast was good, there was a good selection of foods and drinks to choose from. Check out was smooth, quick and easy. Highly recommend.”
“Hotel was great from the staff to the room cleanliness. My hubby is a diamond member and we got upgraded to a queen premium corner room which had a pretty view. It was my birthday and they had a lovely note written for me on the desk. There was also a piece of cake as well! However, the location didn’t seem that convenient for tube access. Most of the places we wanted to go had us always using the Westminster station which was 17-20 minutes away from the hotel. Pimlico station is about 10 min away but it was never an option when we looked up directions. Maybe I’m just used to the NYC subway system where there seems to be entrances everywhere. Side note: This has nothing to do with the hotel, but we were walking back from dinner the first night, maybe 2-3 or so blocks away from the hotel, when some (insert explicit word here) on an e-bike came up from behind and snatched my husbands phone right out of his hand! So even though it is a nice quiet area, please be careful!”
“We stayed in a suite for my partners birthday having stayed here previously and not being happy with the stay the hotel made an extra effort to make the stay really enjoyable. There were balloons in the room and cakes and complimentary drinks. The hotel is well placed and is presented very nicely. The staff were friendly, the breakfast was delicious. It was a lot different from the previous stay and felt like they had listened to feedback and improved ten fold! Following this visit, I would not hesitate to stay here again, it had the feel of a luxury hotel which is the way it should be.”
“Excellent hotel. Not far from restaurants. The staff were very kind and helpful. Nothing too much trouble for them. There are a few steps up to the hotel. I have a mobility scooter, to bring indoors. There was an accessible lift round the back and was helped in and out of the hotel. The restaurant food was wow good. Plenty of choice for breakfast and good quality.”
“My daughter and I stayed here for her birthday and used the hotel as a base for activities that we had planned. We had a room with a sofa bed and although it does reduce the size of the room when it's set up, for our stay it wasn't an issue. The room was very clean and during our 2 night stay the room was cleaned and tea and coffee topped up. I slightly agree with other reviews that the breakfast could have been hotter but the food that was there there was plenty of. The location for us was perfect as were were making a visit to Whitechapel and found this was easily in walking distance. We also made a trip to Camden market which was easily done by a quick train and a tube. During our stay every person working in the hotel were friendly and welcoming and would always say a quick hello and ask how our day had been. I would like to give a shout out to Katrina, Murad, Kamile and Azeez as they all went above and beyond to ensure that my daughter's 30th birthday was the special occasion that I wanted, each and every one of them is a real asset to this hotel. Both my daughter and I agree that we would definitely stay here again.”
“I recently stayed at a hotel in Canary Wharf and had a great overall experience. The location is excellent — very well connected to the city centre by public transport, yet tucked away in a quiet and pleasant area. The staff were consistently friendly, professional, and always ready to assist with anything I needed. The breakfast was simple, but everything was fresh and well prepared each morning. A solid choice if you want a calm base with fast access to all key parts of London. I would definitely stay here again.”
“We love the hotel and the location. Great views and upscale vibe. Xavier checked us in and made us feel at home by explaining all the amenities thoroughly. He made an excellent pub recommendation for lunch too. Overall Xavier went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. All is well.”
“Very nice hotel. I loved. Mattress really comfy. Room is very useable. Breakfast downstairs good regular intercontinental breakfast. But upstairs Daniel is amazing ! His coffee is the best coffee in London. He is kind and very helpful. And reception girls so lovely. They help about some recommendations restaurants and top places around the hotel. Gym have enough cardio and dumbbells.”
“Nice hotel at a reasonable price with really great staff. Loved the breakfast with many options and again with great staff that was very observant and kept everything clean and tidy around the buffet and tables. The hotel sits next to the Underground (Aldgate East) and just a 10 min. walk to Liverpool Street Station. So thumbs up - would choose again.”
“Never easy to find new words to describe hotels! HI Stratford was busy during our stay-but managed to keep the personal touch. Attentive reception helped us with early access to room. Parking on site pre booked and it’s only a small park but again, all smoothly arranged. Breakfast a bit of a lottery getting a seat as it was extremely busy but servers cleared spaces quickly and the food offer was very good. All in all a pleasant experience. Thank you HI Stratford!”
