“As expected, the Spring makes this place absolutely outstanding. The smell of blossoming trees...oh my days. I always go back thdre when i have a chance. I had one recently...and boom I went straight down under the heavy green , being hidden under a blanlet of wonderful wildlife . All that only possible in this amazing place. I never waste a chance to be a guest there. Thanks so much for having all ready to enjoy a miracle of freedom ! Milion kisses is not enough!!”

“Pretty gardens with a water feature in the middle. There are paths that encircle the pond in the middle, and when you're walking near the edge, you can hear the sound of the Longford River flowing beside you. For some reason, when I went, the gates to the bridge over the river were closed, but I am sure they must be opened at some point.”

“I’ve been a member of the Muswell Hill Club for a while now, and I can honestly say it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made for my health and wellbeing. From the moment you walk through the doors, you’re welcomed with genuine warmth by the reception staff—always friendly, helpful, and professional. A special mention must go to Hussein, the owner, whose passion for the gym and commitment to creating a supportive, well-run environment is clear in everything he does. He’s approachable, flexible, down-to-earth, and genuinely cares about the members’ experience. The trainers are another standout feature of the club. They’re knowledgeable and motivating. I love the aquacise classes run by Angela Enahoro and Anna Borodina, both are different in their methods, but both help me achieve my fitness. They’re truly AA! The facilities are clean, well-maintained, and equipped with everything you need. There’s a real sense of community at the Muswell Hill Club, which makes working out feel more like something to look forward to than a chore. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a welcoming and professional gym in North London!”

“An amazing park,lots of walking ground,lovely river and the whole atmosphere is great. It's a shame that many people don't care and litter everywhere and go fishing there even though it's not allowed.”

“I love Bowyer's Water and am very lucky to have it on my doorstep. The surrounding lakes and wetlands are also great and together, attract a lot of wildlife. You can go for a lunchtime walk and regularly see deer as well as all the waterfowl (Little Egrets seem to be well established now). In the winter, if you are lucky, you could see Smew, Bittern and even Cattle Egret.”

“Private nature reserve. Only open to members. Several acres of lakes, with paths, hides, clubhouse. Bird, plant and mammal observation opportunities. Well worth a visit”

“Amazing park. Great children's play area. Fantastic farm. The cafe was really nice. The food we had was so good. I would highly recommend the brie, bacon, and cranberry panini.”

“Brilliant park next to river. Enclosed area for little ones to play. When hot, the sprinkle area comes to play. Very big green area for you to picnic, put up a small gazebo, play family games etc. The toilets are clean even tho only 2 cubicles in ladies. But every time been they have been clean. Have a food hut. Very reasonable priced. The best is there long hot dogs for 4 pounds each. Overall a great free day to spend with the family. Can not recall parking prices but it was not expensive compared to other places”

“Selsdon Nature Reserve is a wonderful place to walk the dogs. There many loads of different tracks around the woods and fields, easy to get lost but just keep walking and you will eventually find your way back to the car. There are various entry points, I prefer using the car park which can get full but you can then park on the road. Mostly dry over the summer months, winter it can get very muddy, all part of the fun they tell me…..”

“Belhus Woods Country Park is a brilliant place for a peaceful day out in nature. The park is spacious and well maintained, with a great mix of woodland, lakes and open paths that make it ideal for walking, jogging or simply relaxing. The trails are easy to follow and suitable for all ages, whether you are out for a short stroll or a longer walk. It is especially nice for dog walkers and families, with plenty of open space and spots to stop and enjoy the scenery. The lakes add a calm atmosphere and there are lots of benches where you can sit and unwind. Wildlife is easy to spot, which makes the walks even more enjoyable. Overall, Belhus Woods Country Park is a lovely escape from busy life and a perfect place to get some fresh air, clear your head and enjoy the outdoors. Highly recommended if you are looking for a quiet and scenic park to visit.”

“Amazing place to run as well as a good place to take the fog for a walk. Lots of other friendly dogs and dog owners for the dog to socialise with. Only issue I had recently was on two occasions while I was running around the park, someone walking towards me looked up and purposely walked into my direct path. Unsure why this happened or what is wrong with people.”

“Bishop's Park, home to Fulham Palace with its filled walled-garden and historic tales, and lovely riverside paths and trails. Far too many off-lead dogs for my liking but lots of different spaces and a very nice space. When I lived in Fulham I was very close to here and this park was a dream.”

“## **Wimbledon Park ** Wimbledon Park is a 27-hectare (67-acre) urban park located in the Wimbledon area of London, which also serves as the name for the suburban area surrounding Wimbledon Park Underground station. This park is distinct from Wimbledon Common, which is situated on higher ground to the west. ## **Historical Background** Wimbledon Park was originally part of the Manor of Wimbledon and was landscaped by Capability Brown in the 18th century. During this period, a dam was constructed on a stream that flowed from springs near Wimbledon Common to the River Wandle at Earlsfield, creating the current lake. In the 19th century, it served as one of the residences of the Spencer family, until the 4th Earl Spencer sold the estate to property developer John Augustus Beaumont in 1846. The current park was purchased by Wimbledon Borough just before World War I and was added to the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens by English Heritage (now Historic England) in 1987. ## **Ownership Structure** The management of Wimbledon Park involves a complex structure with three different organizations owning portions of the land: - **Merton Council**: Owns the public park and lake - **All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC)**: Owns the golf course land and has taken over the lease previously held by Wimbledon Park Golf Club - **Wimbledon Club**: Owns and occupies land to the west of the lake ## **Facilities and Features** Wimbledon Park offers various recreational facilities: - Water sports including sailing, kayaking, and canoeing on the large lake - Athletics track with a 400m circuit - Tennis courts - Bowling pavilion - Beach volleyball courts - Water sports and outdoor activity center At the northern edge of the park lies Horse Close Wood, a small ancient woodland primarily composed of ash and oak trees. In 2007, a new children's water play area called Elizabeth's Pool was opened, named in honor of a local child. ## **Current Activities and Plans** Each November, Merton Council hosts a large fireworks display at Wimbledon Park, which is one of London's largest and most popular events. Merton Council has developed the Wimbledon Park Masterplan, presenting a long-term vision for the next 25 years to guide decision-making and future investments. During the 2025 Wimbledon Championships (June 30 - July 13), free viewing events with large screens are being held in partnership with the All England Lawn Tennis Club at various locations including Wandle Park.”

“Brockwell Park is my local. I've come to really enjoy the park and did not appreciate how much it has to give to the community. There is absolutely everything, lakes, Swans, flower garden, veg primary, play area, water area for kids, bike track ride, tennis courts, cricket lanes, basketball, small train track, weekend football, etc. The whole park, if you were to go all the way around, is around 5300 steps. Many, many green birds like parrots. Would recommend highly.”

“One of my best place to spend time right middle of the crowded city business hub. You can read a book, sit and enjoy the view of best city skyscrapers and meditate yourself. The environment is absolutely chilling and calm. It's a small park comparing to others but relaxing in crowded place. Located right next to Canary Wharf station making it more accessible.”
