“Burgundys/Pats catering did an amazing buffet for my wedding reception. The selection of food was brilliant, there was plenty of it and for a reasonable price too. All the guests had full tummies! It’s not the first time we have ordered our food for occasions from here and it definitely won’t be the last! Thank you so much! Xxx”

“Amazing food, service and atmosphere. Visited for our first time last week and we will now be returning regularly, best spot for a roast in Nottingham by far. Special mention to our waitress Ruth who went above and beyond in making sure our visit was perfect! Thankyou again Ruth.”
“From the various flavoured wings, the chicken strips wrap, the mutton and rice to the Lamb chops i have always been impressed! Amazing quality food that you have once and keep going back!”
“High quality food, low prices, friendly staff - everything you want. We had four different meals, all really tasty and hot. Penny's is our new favourite!”

“Had a lovely afternoon tea here yesterday with my Sister and niece. The sandwiches were very tasty and warm scone delicious. The presentation and service was top class”
“My everyday local for lunch and rather frequently, pints of course. Can't fault it - since the change in ownership this pub has provided many great lunches as well as a friendly and homely place to drink. Thank you to all of the staff who are, without exception, fantastic and accommodating. Would always recommend to a local or to anybody passing by!”
“Recently had a large birthday party attending The Wheatsheaf and I just wanted to say a very big thank you to Terry and his fabulous team for looking after us all so well. From start to finish everything was brilliant - the food was delicious and the drinks were flowing. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff were all friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was perfect for my birthday celebrations. It really made the night special. Thank you again and to everyone at The Wheatsheaf for all going above and beyond - we will definitely be back to celebrate next year!”
“So happy that someone recommended this place as it was fully worth it. Located on a busy road with enough parking spaces. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was beautifully made and every bite was worth it. Left feeling very satisfied and highly recommend, will definitely be returning.”
“Had a flying visit to Notts yesterday. Was incredibly fortunate to find this WONDERFUL Restaurant. Not only was the place attractive in style, full of wonderful vibes and happy customers, it also provided the most wonderful food. Paulina attended our table, and could not have been more charming, helpful, informative. She made our visit so enjoyable, as did GIA who provided the refreshments. We had such a great time we took the opportunity to enjoy some champagne too. HIGHLY RECOMMEND !!!!”
“Absolutely fantastic experience. The food and service were excellent, especially on Christmas Day. The staff were amazing, friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make it a really special occasion. Highly recommended! Special thanks to the manager and team serving the front part of the restaurant ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”
“Loved it! The best chicken I’ve ever had. It was super tasty and juicy. I’m definitely coming back!!”
“THIS is a proper English pub. Stayed here twice, staff are welcoming, food is incredible, none of those cheap crappy sauces, decent portions, great beer and lovely decor and amenities. Can’t recommend enough!”
“I don’t know how this has only a 4.2 stars (at the point of me reviewing) - we’ve ordered from here so many times. It’s the best gyros takeaway I’ve ever had by far, the salad is even delicious. They always delivery quickly - firm favourite”
“1st time I’ve eaten at the Cods Scallops this evening. Ordered the cod & chips with sides of mushy peas & curry sauce all washed down with their own “Scale Ale” beer and have to say I was seriously impressed. Delicious and generously portioned fresh fillet of cod in a very light crispy batter, chips golden brown and crisp with a light fluffy centre. Just the way they should be! Mushy peas were just like grandma used to make! Absolutely delicious! All cooked fresh and piping hot! These guys know how to do it right! Absolutely Delicious! Top marks to the Cods Scallops! Very happy customer and will be back soon!”
“What a lovely pub in a lovely location overlooking the River Trent, with tables and chairs on lawns between the river and the pub. The Erewash canal is to the side of the pub with it's fascinating lock gates and other interests. We drove up by Campervan from our South Somerset home to visit family members in Beeston. There were no campsites near Beeston but searching for Pub Stop-overs we found The Trent Lock Pub (formerly The Navigation Inn.) We phoned ahead, got the thumbs up and arrived 5pm. We selected a parking slot at the rear of the car park looking onto grass land and trees. We invited two family members for dinner and we ate at 7.30pm (the pub opened at 6pm) The food was superb and we didn't have to wait long for it. I had the chicken salad with avocado and bacon plus a side of sweet potato fritters. Incredible flavours! The others had Salmon and onion fishcakes with shrimp sauce with broccoli and other vegetables, which they enjoyed. Wine was a nice Sauvignon Blanc. The service was good and the staff were pleasant so what else could one ask for. So we will come Pub Stop-Over camping at the Trent Pub every time we visit Beeston and we know we'll get good free camping and bl__dy good food. Thank you Trent Lock Pub Nick & Jackie The free pub Stop-overs are great and all you need to do is eat or drink in the pub that evening.”
“Absolutely outstanding carvery, every meat for a Sunday roast available including lamb, A choice of medium beef or well done beef, Pork and great crackling, gammon, turkey! All veg fresh, banging roasties and creamy mash! Not forgetting the crispy stuffing balls and immense Yorkshire puddings....infact, the best yorkies I've ever had!! Will definitely be returning!”
“Great food that's value for money ate in the the sit down restaurant. The food was fresh and service quick and efficient. Would like to say the waiter Craig who was running the restaurant. Was very professional knew it wasn't his first rodeo. It's hard to find good waiting staff”
“Driven past this pub so many times so I visited today. Tricky drive up the drive in the snow but that is my only gripe. The staff, food, drink, decor and atmospherewas brilliant I will be coming again. Keep up the good work.”
“Excellent Christmas menu meal here on Monday 15th December. All 7 of us were impressed with the quality of the meal and with the service. Lovely relaxing atmosphere and The Cadland will now be our top venue for Christmas 2026! Well done!”
“Been to the Stumble Inn a couple of times now, only had the home made cobs from the bar, but they were lovely and easily worth every penny! The staff are really friendly and nice people, and even the locals that drink there were really friendly too.... The live band on the night ( Dr Spork) were simply fantastic.”
“Big group of us came in last Wednesday. Despite the bar and restaurant being full we were welcomed and sat promptly. The food came at a reasonable time too. What really stood out however was who we assume is the manager. She was so fluid in the restaurant bar and igloo pods outside our whole table noticed and were mesmerised at her service skills. We never got to mentioned it but I’m sure this review helps She took our food and drinks order without no pen or iPad, made us laugh and smile constantly and managed to clear all our plates (10+ people) in one go. All boxes checked, we had a great time yet again. Thank you Bink Yard”
“Visited on a Friday lunchtime (it was not particularly busy). The staff were friendly and the food was fresh and really tasty.”
“Amazing place!!! From ordering to delivery was outstanding. My children loved everything I ordered, which was lemon cheese cake, different types of churros and a gigantic waffle. Would definitely recommend 100 percent xx”
“Little Elf Steak Pie - A proper comfort classic. I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a traditional steak pie from Little Elf Kitchen and Cafe on Granby Street Ilkeston, and it didn’t disappoint. The pastry was golden, crisp on the top, and beautifully flaky without being dry or overworked. The real star, though, was the filling – generous chunks of tender beef, slow-cooked until meltingly soft, in a rich but not swimming in, savoury gravy that had real depth of flavour. It struck a perfect balance between seasoning and that comforting, homely feel. I had the pie with creamy mashed potatoes, buttery peas, and a touch of gravy on the side – a classic combo that elevated the experience. This pie was packed with filling which took the pie from excellent to outstanding. All in all, a hearty, satisfying dish that delivered on both taste and tradition. I’d happily have this meal again.”
“Varied well cooked food. Friendly staff.reasonable charges. We are always welcomed and staff remember how we like our coffee. Seems to have regular clientele”
“An absolutely lovely experience when buying lumch for my very poorly MIL on Thursday that created an occasion I'll never forget. Thank you to the very lovely server for your kindness, it meant the world after such a trying few days. Needless to say, my MIL devoured her fish and chips and the delight on her face spoke a thousand thank-yous. XxX”
“Thought we'd try our local burger takeaway as needed a quick feast..Munchies did not disappoint Great burgers, so tasty and the chips were delish and I'm not a chip person, just a half a dozen will normally do me but these were so tasty. Defo recommend.”
“Last Saturday ( 27 May ) twenty-nine of us enjoyed a lunch at the Peartree. It was a very happy carefree occasion with very good food and the most attentive and caring service. The staff really put themselves out to ensure we all enjoyed ourselves and they succeeded. The only downside is that some of us will have to diet as the sticky toffee pudding was not as low cal as I kidded myself. Congratulations to a first class team.”
