“Very Pleasant and helpful staff. Good atmosphere. Also they do poker tournament. Being a foreigner in the area I was very warm welcomed.”

“Yesterday we had our annual Christmas get-together, of some 50-60 people. I had arranged this with the bar some months ago as a new venue. From initial engagement through to the celebration the bar team, from manager and each and every staff member was brilliant. From reserving our area to collecting glasses all staff were polite, efficient, and helpful. (Some of our gathering are beyond retirement age and with mobility issues). During the evening the feedback has been excellent. Not one negative comment from anyone who attended. The general comment to me has been that the bar must be our venue going forward for a summer event and definitely next Christmas. I want to thank the whole bar team for making the event an excellent one. Their service made a positive impact and made the day a great one. I know that our attendees thanked staff members personally, but I hope this review reflects theirs and my response to a great day. Would I recommend this venue, YES. “Great selection at the bakery. I had a croissant, which was big and very tasty. Flaky on the outside and squishy on the inside. The coffee was great too. Bonus points for it being in a decent sized mug. I love coffee and go to a lot of artisan coffee shops, but some of them serve a latte in a tiny glass. I like a big coffee. Busy but lots of seating and outdoor seating too.”

“Did a group food cooking class for 6 people with Pet. Had a fantastic time. The food we made (vegan red Thai curry) was delicious and Pet did a fantastic job explaining how to cook everything well and to each person's individual tastes. The mocktails we had were delicious. I would definitely consider doing another class for a different dish again.”

“Staff seamed very happy, attentive, polite and friendly. Really makes a difference. Food good and really hot too. I was a little bit disappointed with the seasonal vegetables being just lots of peas with a little bit of carrot but the peas where really nice and sweet!”

Their portions are great, you won’t be hungry after! Very dog friendly too with a special doggy treats area. Nice selection of alcohol free drinks too. A proper pub.”

“I came here on a Bank Holiday Monday at lunchtime and was really worried about how long it would take to get served. I'm in the end. I was really impressed. It took about 10 minutes to get through the que, and there was still plenty of food left. There's a nice range of items from cakes, pastys, and sandwiches. There's loads of seating and the whole cafe was clean and well presented.”

“Lovely pub nestled in the village of Woodcote. The food is delicious and great value including kids meals. The service behind the bar and by our waitress was spot on. Great pint of Guinness - good lines sir. Locals have an oaky beaut here. I travelled from Reading and if you do the same i recommend going through Pangbourne and Whitchurch Hill - proper Berkshire/Oxfordshire country drive. Great British pub!”

“This is always great place to stop over with a free car park. And the huge perk is the cinema which is there. This Costa is great with so many options available, vegan milk . . Coconut, soya, almond . . Gingerbread nut cracker hot chocolate with vegan cream was simply delicious.”

“Lovely spot to have a coffee with a great outdoor seating area overlooking the lake. We only had coffee so can't comment on the food, but the coffee was strong, flavourful and nicely made, with good service. Nice to have the option of only ordering a small size, for a reasonable price too.”

“We order online for a food collection. Our order was prepared quickly and ready to collect at the exact time specified. The team were friendly and welcoming. The quality of the food was very good and the takeaway food packaging (for salads with dressing, dough balls, pizza, etc) was very well thought out to prevent leaks and avoid grease going through pizza boxes, whilst being 100% recyclable. Very well done!”

“My experience at Costa Coffee was great! The place was very clean, and the furniture arrangement created a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. The staff, especially the lady who took my order, was very friendly and welcoming. I ordered an espresso, and it was absolutely fantastic—rich, balanced, and exactly what I was looking for. Interestingly, I’ve had espresso from this location before, but it wasn’t as good. This clearly shows how much the barista’s skill affects the coffee’s quality. I’ll definitely be coming back!”

“Went swimming today after 3 weeks off(Beginner swimmer here). Had a great swim and felt good till I got out the pool. Swam too hard and I started vomiting in the bathroom/ felt so weak. There were two gentlemen who helped me and the manager who came as well. They gave me a flapjack and drink to get my energy back. Made sure I was ok. Lovely gesture from the team and I hope they see this. I apologise as I didn’t get their names but they sure know who they are! Thank you for caring and it makes me feel better I go to a good leisure centre.”

“The Travellers Rest is a hidden gem that combines a cosy, welcoming atmosphere with great value for money. Whether you're after a quick drink or a hearty meal, this place delivers on all fronts. The drinks are reasonably priced, with a good range of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. The food came out quickly, but still tasted fresh and well-prepared — a pleasant surprise, as "fast pub food" doesn't always have the best reputation. Not here though — no upset stomachs, just genuinely enjoyable meals. I had a generous portion of crispy chicken, which was perfectly cooked. My partner ordered the Caesar salad and said it was one of the best she’s had. The overall portion sizes were more than satisfying. The atmosphere was relaxed, with background music at a comfortable volume, making it easy to enjoy a conversation. The location is easy to get to, and there’s plenty of parking available, which is a big plus. All in all, The Travellers Rest is a great spot for casual dining and drinks. We'll definitely be returning.”
