“Wow wow wow . Third visit to this place . Great staff food is amazing and the place looks amazing . Feels like we are eating in a 5 ⭐ restaurant. Keep up the great work .”
“We had Sunday lunch here, they're was a small mix up with the dinner they brought pork for chicken, but swiftly swapped it and made well . The staff were apologetic and very nice about it. The food was excellent however and the sides beautifully presented. The sweet posset was a delight. Good wine choice.. Nicely presented again . Met Fields afterwards lovely man. We will certainly be back. Nicest Sunday roast we have had for a while.”
“Lovely, cozy, traditional pub / restaurant, with lovely decor, great, friendly, service, and delicious food. Overall really enjoyable experience taking my elderly mother out (in her wheelchair ... which I was quite dreading, but didn't need to because the Fox & Hounds was 'wheelchair friendly' and (with the help of the lovely staff) the experience was totally stress-free!). So a really special time spent with my mother, who enjoyed her meal immensely! Thank you to all staff at The Fox & Hounds. Totally recommend this pub / restaurant to anyone. And hope to be back there sometime soon myself too!”
“Boothroyd agrees that this a good place for an old King to drink. Surprisingly large pub with a rear patio. Boothroyd decided on a pint of draught Bass. Very good traditional ale. Sat in the strand twixt bar and garden, close to the Throne Room. Enjoyed the music.”
“Best Sunday dinner we have had in a long time! Me and my partner go to lots of places for Sunday dinner and The Queen’s Head tops the lot! Large sizes and the cheesy leeks/ cauliflower cheese was incredible. Staff were really attentive and looked after us throughout our stay. We shall be back and will recommend to friends and family.”
“Recently reopened and what a pleasure to visit. We have walked, cycled and driven to this pub. Situated on the main road from Biddulph to Congleton, and a stones throw from the Biddulph valley way, it’s a perfect place for a pit stop. Warm, welcoming and relaxed, serving basic pub grub, but done just right and at a reasonable price! Staff are friendly and welcoming and after a couple of visits, remember you, which adds to the experience. Good selection of beers and wines, with Timothy Taylor being a very nice pint.”
“We had Tom as our server. Confident and friendly. Made an amazing salted caramel cocktail. Lovely atmosphere, with welcoming staff”
“Beautiful clean pub. Excellent service from the very friendly land lady. Everywhere was clean and well looked after.”
“That dessert was my joy, my sweetest prize, A symphony of flavours, a feast for the eyes. The lemon tart dazzled, sharp and bright, I saved the lemon top, my last delight. Raspberry sorbet burst, wild and alive, An explosion of taste, it made me revive. And not to forget, with broccoli in view, That steak was pure magic—perfectly too.”
“No longer sells food. Staff told us next closest decent food place, but they don't have access to update the website. Looked like a great pub regardless.”
“Clan was out and about in this area and stopped here for food. Vegetarian and vegan options were amazing so the orders began. The service was wonderful. We were seen to our table and the one child with us was given a kids menu that they could draw and colour in to keep them entertained. It was pretty busy so I expected some delays in the food yet it arrived quickly. The food was amazing. In fact it was so good I ordered more and that arrived just as promptly. The lady servicing us was so helpful and would advise on food and drinks. Desserts were lovely too and everyone left with full bellies as there was something for everyone and all due credit to the kitchen team, it came out pretty fast and was delicious. Will definitely be back here when I'm in the area again. Enjoy.”
“Wow wow wow. The best bacon and egg sandwich I have ever had. Coffee stunning. Wow wow wow. Reyt way to start day off.”
“Great service and really tasty food at a reasonable price. Nice local beers too. We would definitely recommend a visit and we'll certainly be returning.”
“Very atmospheric place, very traditional old Shrewsbury, loved the gorgeous leaded windows, the old stone work etc. We were well looked after by Ash who went 'above and beyond', (thank you), lovely chap. He looked after 12 of us extremely well.... I was a bit surprised it was just Ash' on his own. Nothing was too much troubke. Management need to pay him more. I thought the background music was lovely, plus lovely NOT to get the cheesy Christmas music. PS Excellent liaison pre-event with Tamara by email. THANK YOU. (There were12 of us in the party).”
“Just amazing place. I was just reading about the reviews about the place but didn't expect what it was when we went in. The entrance is small but place was big inside and a whole lot of seats. I love the decor and feel inside, just loved eating and hanging around inside. They have a kid's menu and they loved the food they ordered. We took the steak promo and was surprised that the tomahawk tasted that well, it was just tender and tasty and well made. Loved the chips that came with it, crunchy and tasty. My daughter had the fudge and it was really good. Service was good and quick, they were really friendly. Would be going back for sure”
“Cosy vibes great food and cool design and pink theme throughout”
“Food is always impeccable, service is great and the staff are lovely, always come for brunch and coffee”
“Great pub. We were staying nearby for the night, read there was tapas and took a wonder up to check it out. Beer is sublime, best pint of ale I've had in a while. Yes the tapas portions are big, but very nice, so no complaints for us! Beer garden has some awesome views and the sunset was amazing. If we are ever back this way we will come again.”
“Would recommend this fabulous restaurant , the staff were great, Atmosphere was wonderful, Indian food was the best ever tasted. Noticed a children section on the menu.”
“Came here for lunch and had delicious food. I had a regular size (which was a decent size) pizza Arriba, which was delicious! The dough is fantastic, I like a doughy pizza and this one delivered on that. The toppings were really generous, too. I did ask to change the chorizo to nduja, which was kindly done for me, although after ordering and paying, I was then told there were no peppers available. Not a biggie, but I think it's fair to be told things like that before paying. My wife went for the Mancini pasta, which she said was also delicious. Especially the mushrooms in the dish. I tried one and agreed that the flavours were incredible. They taken on the flavours of the chorizo and were just so moreish! She said it was only warm, though, and could have done with being a bit hotter. The drinks we ordered they didn't have in stock, and I got the impression they maybe don't stock what's on the menu as they had other beers (although they didn't have it available to buy, just had one on display) and wines that weren't on the menu, which again isn't a biggie, but a little strange. The staff were friendly. We paid just over 32.50 for the pizza, pasta, glass of wine, and a beer, which we felt was fair, especially as the food was so nice. Overall, we enjoyed the food and would go back again.”
“Originally called to order a takeaway but the friendly welcome prompted us to eat in . Food was excellent. A few different dishes to the usual run of the mill favourites. Relaxed atmosphere. Sensible prices. If it wasn't our last night in the area we'd definitely have returned.”
“Really delicious food in generous portion. We ordered seafood paradedelle (pasta), marinated sea bream with fried calamari and ragout potatoes, and kid’s chicken with rice. We will definitely come back again! :)”

“My father, Dennis, lived there for a few years and raved about the food. When I visited him from Canada, the chef, Paul, was always willing to spend time talking to my father about the navy. My father was right about the food and the service. Both were over the top.”
“Had a really good meal and time at the lounge bar restaurant, a little pricey but the service was brilliant.”
“Poped in on the off chance of a table for breakfast after visiting the Christmas Market. Staff were amazing and sorted we out with a table very quickly (thats a thanks right away) we had the granary breakfast wow... !!! Superb and cooked perfectly by far one of the best I've had in a good while. Thank you to all the staff who were just so helpful and pleasant. Will definitely be returning for breakfast and evening meals. Thanks again Robert &family.”
“The Shed never disappoints. It's the best local pub around. Just when I thought you couldn't get better than their burger and perfect chips, their Xmas menu comes out. The lamb shank instantly melted in my mouth and is definitely worth the price!”
“We had a wonderful visit to the Botanist and will definitely be returning. We were in Knutsford to take our Beagle, Copper, to Tatton Park and was looking for somewhere dog friendly to get some lunch after. We'd been to a different restaurant on the high street before but on Sundays they had very limited menus whereas The Botanist had a main menu running alongside their Sunday Lunch menu which gave a lot of choice and was a big plus for us. On arrival the staff were fabulous with our dog, giving him fusses and treats and we were really accommodating putting us out of the way. The drinks menu is really extensive, even the alcohol free selection which was a bonus. We had a Sunday roast and a hanging kebab and can recommend both, Copper also enjoyed the veggies! Highly recommended, for dog owners and non- dog owners alike”
“Stopped off for lunch. Had the most amazing food. My gammon was full of flavour and so tasty (the best I have had in years). The staff were very pleasant and helpful.”
“Lovely place to stay. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Breakfast was delightful. Staff were professional, friendly and welcoming. I would visit here again.”
