“This is such a magical place to visit & a must-see if you are visiting Jersey... This zoo has so much history & is just wonderful. The animals are amazing & the infographics for all of them are informative & eye-opening, there is so much to see. We had a great time just wandering around & taking in all the sights & smells of the zoo, every part of it was amazing & I can't wait to go back! If you book online there is a discount, so we'll worth booking in advance. The bus journey is lovely & doesn't take too long to get there, & the buses are quite frequent.”

“Visited near Christmas in an afternoon for lunch. The food was really nice - and a little bit more unusual for what you'd normally expect from a 'tourist attraction' type place! The staff were friendly and helpful with assisting with a gluten intolerance that one of our party has. Would definitely recommend for if you are visiting Chester Zoo!”

“Went on a Tuesday for granddaughters 2nd birthday, lovely zoo with plenty of animals. Love you could get up close to most instead of having to view across a large field. All animals looked healthy and the baby elephant that has recently been born was lovely added bonus. Will definitely be returning next year”

“This is a fantastic place to visit it has lots of different options apart from the brilliant Zoo ,including a food outlets and several different play themed activities for children, including soft play, parks, trampolines. The zoo side the animals have some of the best enclosure I have seen in a zoo, with lots of outdoor areas for them to roam they seem very content. It’s also has several places for a quick pit stop to get refreshments also several toilets . The only thing I wasn’t happy about was the soft play structure it looks like a converted barn it’s brilliant inside with well planned and built amenities but my concern is the roof,it’s asbestos corrugated sheeting (I noticed the animals indoor building has corrugated metal sheeting ) I can’t understand why asbestos has been used. Whilst its use can pose a risk if in any way it breaks down, all materials eventually deteriorates, whilst a small risk ,I really can’t understand its use especially in a children’s environment.”

“We visited today, 2nd Nov, and wanted to praise the superb knowledge and engagement of some staff members. The lady feeding and tending to the gibbon forest this afternoon came and spoke to us about them, advising us about the engagement they conduct with the gibbons and the personalities and quirks of each of them. They are clearly well looked after and cared about by the staff. Secondly, the guy working in the butterfly farm engaged with us immediately upon entry into the space, he was very approachable and had knowledge not only on the butterflies and birds within his area, but about other species within the zoo and shared his experiences with us. We felt as if we were on a personal tour with the in depth discussions we had with him. He is clearly very passionate about animals and nature as a whole, and gave some great tips on how we can support the environment. He really is a credit to the Twycross team.”

“Me and my family really enjoyed our day here. Definitely enough animals to make a day out for the family. My kids loved the seeing all the animals but the giraffes, crocodiles and monkey's definitely stood out for us. Maps need updating for toilets as we found some in a different area than listed. Enjoyed the play areas, food areas and a little win a teddy section. Also enjoyed a lovely icecream. Would recommend!”

“BEST Zoo i’ve attended. It brought me back to childhood. I cannot express how thoroughly i enjoyed the vast amount of animals, the expansive nature of the zoo park is great for a full days worth of fun! We came during the October half term and did not feel overwhelmed with people because there is a great amount of space, easy parking, large spacious bathrooms that were cleaned throughout the day. I cannot say a bad word. The cafe serve tasty hot meals, quick to arrive and reasonably priced. The cafe was a squeeze however, we attended during the lunch time rush, there is outdoor seating if you can brave the cold. Hot drinks and cakes also available. I feel Hamerton zoo park is brilliant for all ages- my daughter fell in love with the amazing playground with a zip line, high climbing frame and interesting cube maze that was fun and challenging. We will certainly be back with more family in the Summer.”

“We went to Hobbledown to visit Santa in his Grotto. The place looked magical! And the immersive experience was above and beyond. Nowhere else have we experienced anything like it, usually it is just Santa and that's it. Here we experienced almost an hour long journey through Santa village, meet him and go to Elf shop to choose final gift :) And to be able to pick your own present is just mazing. Happy children guaranteed! Honestly one our very favorite places! Kids already asking to go back again!”

“Excellent selection of animals to see and lots of interactive habitats like the Lemur Woods. The train is a cool touch too! Prepare yourself for a lot of uphill climbing throughout the day if you're bringing toddlers! Unfortunately some exibit closures during our visit in preparation for Christmas, and the rides and pop-up restaurant stands were closed. There are vending machines dotted around but they're all coin-only so pretty useless.”

“Just visited for the first time and loved it. Spent hours there and even had dinner there. Lots to see on the walks around the zoo. Check out the website. The food was a little expensive but it all helps to keep the place open and the cafe was really clean and modern and well looked after. All the staff were great. Little talks every hour or so but we missed them lol. Would highly recommend.”

“Great little Zoo, with a good choice of animals, my personal favourite were the penguins. Going midweek, there were plenty of parents/grandparents with toddlers, who all seemed to be having fun. There's an outdoor play area and a small indoor play area and cafe, and also a restaurant/cafe. There were outside eating areas but they were all closed on the day of our visit. Plenty of parking. We were there 2 hours.”

“Great family visit and really lucky with the weather. The Pandas were impressive and the highlight but overall the whole place was very clean and tidy. The enclosures were very well maintained and also very clean. The only slight dissapointment was one particular member of staff who must have been having a bad day and was not particularly pleasant when we dare ask about what food was gluten free in the Jungle Restaurant but we worked it out and didn't ruin the day.”
