βCats are looked after exceptionally well here. The owners Pauline & John are obviously cat lovers and so beloved pets are cared for very well.β
βCathy cared for my two bunnies who are house rabbits, so used to having a lot of space. I need not have worried though, as their room inside was a good size, with chairs, a pet bed and plenty of space for them to hop around. Cathy kept me updated via whatsapp with messages and photos/videos of the boys. I have already booked for our next holiday.β
βVery clean cool for cats friendly owners would use this place againβ
βGreat apartments in a great central location. Free parking comes with them. The directions to the apartment and parking could do with having more clarity.β
βI gave used Paul's Pet Mindrts s few times. Everyone is really friendly and helpful. My dog Reggie has been looked after by a couple of families and the love and care he has received had been wonderful and second to none. I have and would recommend the Paul's Pet Minders without a doubtβ
βBrad at The village Bar and Grill was friendly and gave us a great lunch recommendation. The chicken wrap with salad and chips was tasty and good value. Highly recommend for food and drinks if you're nearby.β
βIt was very pleasant to live here for 5 months. Thank you for being.β
βWe stayed at the Travelodge over Christmas whilst visiting family in Boldmere. We were two adults and a toddler in a family room. Not expecting too much but beds and our own space, we were very pleasantly surprised. The family room was incredibly clean (wish I could hoover that well!), at the end of a corridor so quiet and beds were very comfortable. The single beds for children were a good height for my toddler. We checked in on Christmas Day and had a really warm welcome and the staff were eager to help throughout our stay. Really impressed and has seriously made us consider other Travelodges for other UK breaks.β
βGreat location, great personnel, good breakkfast buffet, great prices! Will book again.β
βI seem to stay here on a regular basis due to business. Always friendly helpful staff & the rooms are generally clean & tidy. Recommend unless your looking for something like the Hilton, then this place is not for you.β
βTwo visits, both warmly received β each offering a fresh and slightly different vibe. A place to break cycles, soften thought patterns, and share space with pleasant strangers β some keeping to themselves, others exchanging a light word while preparing breakfast or lending a hand. Both experiences were positive, each in its own tone. I would return if needed, and I recommend it to others. The organisation is thoughtful, with labelled personal kitchen items (though not essential in my case, labels are provided at the reception). Guidance is clear: breakfast served 07:00β11:00 (as of 27/08/25, subject to change). Overall β relaxed, peaceful, and well-held.β
βVery friendly staff and terrific food at a great price. Prepared fresh to order also! We have eaten breakfast here (fantastic bacon butties) and Sunday lunch.β
βAn Exceptional Venue for the My Name Is Climate Film Festival 2025: As organizers of the My Name Is Climate Film Festival 2025, we had the distinct pleasure of hosting our two-day event at The Plough & Harrow Hotel, and we couldn't be more delighted with the experience. From the moment we began planning, the staff and owner were incredibly friendly, accommodating, and genuinely supportive, making the entire process seamless and stress-free. Their warmth and professionalism created an atmosphere that was not just welcoming, but truly felt like a collaborative partnership. The hotel itself offers a wonderful mix of art and culture, providing the perfect backdrop for our film festival. The ambiance was ideal for both our screenings and the engaging discussions and networking sessions that followed. It truly enhanced the overall experience for our filmmakers, partners, and attendees alike. Our visitors, who came from all parts of the UK and Europe, loved every aspect of the venue and couldn't stop taking pictures around! We are thoroughly impressed with every aspect of our time at The Plough & Harrow Hotel. We wholeheartedly recommend it as an outstanding venue for events, and we very much look forward to hosting our future events here. Thank you to the entire team at The Plough & Harrow Hotel for helping us make the My Name Is Climate Film Festival 2025 a resounding success!β
βAs a returning customer for some years Fort Dunlop is perfect for my needs. Staff such as Ryan (manager), Shanaz (assist manager) and of course my Tracy (restraurant) deliver excellent customer service! Any issues or disatisfactions bought to their attention are resolved quickly, swiftly and professionally. The asthetics have improved and are pleasing on the eye, however for me the customer service is what makes a business thrive and be successful! The only constructive feedback would be 1) the heating in room appears to auto randomly turn off. This can be annoying for anyone that gets cold easy and 2) the toilets are positioned too low. Im 5ft5 and semi struggled due to its below standard reduced height installation. Free carpark supports the affordability and cost of living for those wanting a staycation break. I would recomment to friends and family.β
βLocation are nice rooms are small .β
βFantastic service. I regularly travel across the UK but this was my first stay at this holiday inn. For me, working in hospitaly for a number of years has raised the bar for what is expected when it comes to customer service. It is safe to say the staff at star city Holiday Inn are fantastic. Customer service is about providing the best experience and that is exactly what I got. Thank you to Ramsha, Tina and her team for being so accommodating. I will be back in Birmingham in a couple of weeks and I will certainly re-book for the same hotel.β

βCould not fault the hotel and its facilities, car park is a few minutes away and you get a discount, its worth the money as its 24 hour secure, the one next door isn't. Food is pretty good, we got a large pizza between 2 as there is meal deals. It was really nice. Our only issue was bar staff shutting the bar early 11pm, without a last orders and it was busy, this was despite us being told its around 1am if it was busy. Luckily there is a NISA store right next door so we got a bottle of wine. I would definitely go back, a very good breakfast but it was busy. All in all really liked the place and it was cheap for an Uber to the utilita arena about Β£7, so same to town.β
βRecently Stayed for an overnight. Could not say a bad word about the experience. Room was exceptionally clean and Comfortable. All the Staff we encountered were very friendly. Breakfast was excellent. Tremendous value for money. Tram stop 150mts away from front door. Second time to stay and will be backβ
βOn arrival were greeted by the reception who checked all our details, & then gave us clear instructions on how to get to our room. During the check in process we were also told where breakfast would be served in the morning & times. The room was spotless & quiet. We were on the 6th floor, absolutely no problems with getting a lift to the room or ground floor. The only negative thing is that we arrived by train at Birmingham Grand Central (New Street Station) & if you have suitcases then it's a bit of a trek & would be better get a cab than walk. As we only had hand luggage then this was not a problem & took us no more than 8 minites. If you got a cab then you would be there in 3 minutes. Good location & close to China Town. Would definitely stop here again.β
βOur recent stay was for a family funeral. Although our mood was low due to the circumstances we were overwhelmed with how good this hotel was. We stay in many hotels around the world due to work and this was fantastic. The room was perfect, the food was exceptional and the service was first class. A huge thank you to Gerry, she made our whole stay so enjoyable. The owners should be proud of her work ethic to go the extra mile with all our questions or requests. We will definitely stay here again in the future when visiting family or working in the area.β
βNice hotel, convenient for the city. Have used the place over 20 years. Always clean and comfortable rooms. A reasonable price for the area, close to the city, with a frequent bus service on 4 routes into Birmingham. Parking available for a number of cars/vans. Would recommend to anyone...β
βGood clean room, love a travelodge because you know what you're gonna get. Had a few minor issues but went to reception and Renay was so so lovely. She went above and beyond to let me know what was going on and to fix everything she could as quickly as she could. Couldn't have asked for better. Thank you!!!β
βWe've stayed here for the last 16 years and love it. The staff are wonderful. Rooms are lovely and clean and the beds are amazing. Love the breakfast and my favourite is the bar..so snug and inviting. Very central location for us. Looking forward to our next visit.β
βHad a great stay at this Travelodge! I was in Birmingham for the Commonwealth Games, and the staff went above and beyond to make my stay as enjoyable as possible. They upgraded my room as I was staying the full week, and gave lots of great recommendations. They went out of their way to chat and make me feel at home - especially being 8 months pregnant! Definitely recommend.β
βJust returned from a 1 night stay at this hotel and we are so impressed. I read reviews which made me so nervous but I wish I hadnβt have worried now. The location is perfect, staff were excellent, rooms were great and so clean. I would 100% return!β
