“We booked an early check-in however our room wasn't ready due to people before checking out late, we were given complimentary hot drink and also breakfast due to late check in. Kim is an absolute treasure she couldn't do enough and was very apologetic as we were staying there for a bereavement. Would definitely stay there again as good service is rare. Thankyou again Kim”

“I stay at the Holiday Inn Newport most weeks, and it never fails to deliver. From the moment you walk through the doors, the warm welcome and consistently high standard of service set the tone for a great stay. A special mention has to go to Emma and Liz, who always go above and beyond to make guests feel valued. Their professionalism, friendliness, and genuine care make such a difference – nothing is ever too much trouble, and they are a real credit to the hotel. The bar and restaurant team also deserve huge praise. Service is always attentive and welcoming, and the food is excellent. Breakfast in particular is a highlight – a great choice, fresh, and always served with a smile, which makes starting the day that little bit better. It’s rare to find such consistency week after week, but this hotel delivers it every time. The staff really do make the difference here, and it’s the reason I keep coming back. Holiday Inn Newport truly sets the standard for hospitality.”

“Had a good stay. Staff in reception helpful and sorted an issue immediately. Housekeeping staff were lovely. Yes, the rooms are hot but fans are provided in the room and the windows had been left open prior to us arriving. Comfy bed, good choice of pillows, duvet was like a weighted blanket! En-suite was very clean, towels were plentiful. On-site parking is a bonus, breakfast was ok.”

“This place is huge!! Food was good too. Burgers were slightly overdone, chips were nice. Everything else well cooked and pretty standard for a wetherspoons. Sitting outside with a sea view on the terrace is lovely. Could spend hours here.”

“Michelle took great care of our two cats while we were away on holiday for a week. She fed and watered them, cleaned the litter trays, let them in and out of the house and spent time playing with them. Excellent service!”

“Lucy and her team have been walking my lively Cavapoo for over a year now, and she loves every minute. She has improved generally with socialising, recall and obedience. Lucy is very professional and creates a happy environment for her charges, I can highly recommend her.”

“Frank and Narla had a two week stay with Puss in Rhoose. All of our cats medication needs were met and our two were allowed to share a suite. They had the choice of both indoor and outdoor space which they could mooch in and out of depending on their mood. Both spaces are very hygienic and the food is supplied unless like us your cat has dietary needs which Donata was happy to use our own. Thank you for looking after our moggies and I would highly recommend this place......for cats obviously.”

“Our 7 month lab as been going to doggy daycare for a number of weeks She loves socialising with other dogs and being mentally stimulated. We are going away for 3 weeks, and are totally content that she will be well looked after and having the best time of her life. Thanks to Becky and her team.”

“We stayed at the White Lion over night recently & thoroughly enjoyed the visit. Our accommodation was a bright airy family room, twin beds & a double… the room was large enough to have a neat table & chairs to seat four. *Friendly bar & helpful staff *Fabulous fresh Pizza baked on the premises *The Landlord is young and enthusiastic *Parking on site *A variety of local shops … lovely. “One of the best PIs we have stayed in! Check in was easy, well when you have the very helpful Mel there to help. Mel was so welcoming and helpful, making sure we were checked in and booked in for dinner and breakfast. Our meal in the evening was beautiful, we shared some pick n mix plates and all were so tasty. We were served by Mel again and she continued her great customer service. Room was lovely with a nice hot shower. At breakfast we were treated by Sam, again a friendly welcome and explanation of the service. A good choice of food items and drinks. My son really wanted a hot chocolate but I presume because of the sugar tax they do not offer as refills however, Sam noticed he was disappointed and when of to make him a special mug. He was very happy. I named two staff in this review however the others we saw all seemed to be delivering the same service. We will be back!”

“Bedroom perfectly comfortable and clean but could do with attention to dated window frames that allowed a little cold in. However, along with a standard radiator a freestanding electric one is supplied. Communal areas of reception, the bar and dining hall are all very tasteful. The greatest asset of this hotel is the staff who are so obliging and friendly. A super breakfast with friendly staff sets each day off perfectly. The evening meals are of a very high standard all served with a pleasant rapport. We may have arrived curtesy of a bargain coach holliday but were treated like we arrived in a Bentley.”

“We had a lovely stay! The staff were very friendly and helpful. They also have specials for front line and social care workers that were really appreciated as well as vouchers for parking in the city centre. It's very conveniently located. I'd recommend having a 'do not disturb' sign as we had people knocking on the door twice in a 1 night stay. We were right by the lifts so maybe just bad luck there.”

As we live far away, we did not expect the hotel to keep it for so long, and we are extremely grateful. Our stay was very comfortable, but it was the staff who added that extra layer of welcome and hospitality. Thank you also to Cion (I hope I’ve spelt that correctly). My wife phoned the hotel ahead of my arrival to arrange collection. Although she couldn’t get through initially, Cion returned the call — something that rarely happens these days. She truly went above and beyond to help, and we are very thankful.”
