“We had an absolutely amazing wedding at De Courceys! My now WIFE!.. and I highly recommend this venue. It’s not just an amazing venue, from the garden grounds, the decor inside the venue but the staff just make everything so perfect. We were never without, they helped us at every turn and couldn’t do enough for us. This included us helping set up and take everything down at the end. The food was absolutely incredible, every single guest complemented how good the food was. We had several vegan & vegetarians at our dinner & they were highly impressed. Lewis and Lucy were just incredibly warm and friendly people. They were calm and had all the answers. Lucy got us through the day smoothly. The pamper suite for the bride to be was excellent, as were all the other rooms at the venue. We honestly couldn’t think of anything negative, this place is 100% a golden choice for any future couples! Thank you to De Courceys for everything! We will treasure our wedding forever! “Have been using Pinecroft for many years now. Sharon and Avril are always very accommodating and always take great care of our cat. In the last couple of years he hasn't been too well, and they also ensure he has his medication. Would recommend them very highly.”

“Fab location. Would recommend this property. Hadnt realised upon booking that the rooms were not en-suite but there are so many bathroom facilities/showers available (which were all spotlessly clean) it really wasnt an issue. the continental breakfast was also an added bonus.”

“A very convenient spot to stay for a solo traveller, close to town and in a friendly part of the city. Great service by the host, couldn't have been any friendlier and warm, and the room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Also, the value for money is impeccable, I'd certainly recommend this place, and I look forward to returning!”

“this was a lovely place to stay in barry island. it’s in a convenient location right next to the train station and not far from the beach. the rooms were lovely and clean and accommodating with a tv with ITVX so we could tuck in and watch love island without any ads, which ended our night perfectly. the beds were super comfy it felt like i was sleeping on a cloud. the next morning we were greeted by Lyndon who made an excellent breakfast (all included in the price) and was very welcoming throughout our stay. we would highly recommend staying here if you are visiting barry island due to its convenient location and the b&b’s amazing hospitality. we will be sure to stay here again if we’re ever in barry island.”

“Sara was the best host and the B&B is lovely and quaint! 15 of my wife's family stays there for our wedding and Sara couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming, from fresh baked welsh cakes on arrival, organising a cooked breakfast for everyone the morning of the wedding to even allowing & taking the children to see all the farm animals. a beautiful cottage in a great location for big groups and families I couldn't recommend it more highly! “My pet cat Poppy visits these lovely people annually, and she gets on very well. The place is well proportioned for cats with a raised up enclosed sleeping area for each cat and an enclosed area down a small ramp with a litter tray in each cat "appartment." They even have entertainment to watch with a large open area, outside the cattery enclosures, with bird tables. The people are friendly and the prices reasonable. I will recommend this place to all my local cat owners. I don't own a dog, but ones I see running around the exercise area look very happy.”

“We've been using Gedrys for two years now, regularly boarding our reactive rescue collie overnight. The staff are so kind and friendly, and we love checking in on their Instagram to see photos and videos while he's staying. They really seem to understand dogs and take the best care of them. Couldn't recommend more highly.”

“This is the perfect place for all cat owners. Putting my 2 cats into a cattery for the first time, I had reservations. However, they were quickly muted. Voicing my concerns early to the owners, they reassured me from the offset with all the questions I had from security to diet. When I arrived, it was the family atmosphere I was looking for and it didn't disappoint. On picking our 'children' up, myself and my partner were overjoyed with the condition of them. And as all cat owners are aware, we know if they are happy. They really were. Knowing that this facility with its price, location and facilities is available, we're now planning our next holiday with no reservation. Thank you”

“Was really nervous about putting my two dogs into the kennels but we got reassured that our babies will be just fine.. when we picked them up they were so bouncy and happy! Which put us at ease straight away.. tbh I don’t think they wanted to leave aha! Great service great kennels would highly recommend.. our dogs even smelt amazing too and felt so soft!”

“We cannot praise Ross, Laura and the team at Keepers Cottage enough for their care of our collie over the past week. Our much loved boy was shockingly mistreated at our previous kennels, despite boarding there without any cause for concern for over 8 years. Following this incident, we paid a visit to a few alternative boarding facilities ahead of our vacation this year and started to doubt whether we would be able to trust another kennel to care for our pet the way in which we would. We'd read that Keepers Cottage had been taken over by new management in the past few years and despite our initial reluctance (having only ever heard negative reviews of the business as it was previously run) we reached out to arrange a visit and was pleasantly surprised by the response we received, suggesting we call by at any time during opening hours (something that's normally frowned upon or restricted by other kennels). As soon as we met Laura and Ross our minds were instantly put at ease - what a genuinely lovely pair of people! Both were so welcoming and completely open and upfront about the extensive work that they'd already undertaken to get the kennels in the condition that they are today, and the plans they have to make even more improvements over the next few years. Ross' knowledge and love of animals is evident from the questions he asked about our dog, his health and our past experiences and it was immediately apparent that for these guys, this business isn't just a means of income, but a shared and genuine passion shared by the whole family - they really do care about what they do. Due to the past trauma experienced by our collie, Ross recommended that we leave him there for a day to see how he settled before any long term boarding - a perfect suggestion that not only helped him to settle in, but to completely set aside any fears we may have had about leaving him in kennels. I picked him up after a weeks stay earlier today and we were in complete shock over how happy and content he was; he even ran past me, straight to Laura as soon as he came out of his run - if that doesn't speak volumes for how well he enjoyed his stay then I don't know what does! It was clear that he's been well looked after; his bedding wasn't dirty as it normally it, he didn't smell like he's done in the past and he didn't pull and whine to go home like normal. It's evident that he's been well looked after and I cannot thank Laura, Ross, their girls and the team enough - after his stay with you, I wouldn't trust anyone else with the care of our pets. We look forward to many happy stays with you in the future and would wholeheartedly recommend you guys to anyone!”

“We recently celebrated our wedding at Batch and had the most wonderful time from start to finish. Planning, organising, and experiencing the day was made as smooth as possible with their wonderful team. The rooms were comfortable for all of our guest. The food and drinks were delightful and dietary requirements were catered to seamlessly. The grounds are beautiful and there was even a nesting swan on the river bank.”

Our bands always love performing here, the atmosphere is electric, the team are brilliant to work with, and every celebration feels relaxed, joyful, and unforgettable. It’s always a highlight on our calendar, and we’re proud to be part of such incredible weddings at this beautiful venue.”

“So it turns out that there’s more than one of these cafes and this one is great too. Location is fantastic on the corner of Victoria Park and the corner position is ideal for catching some sun on a nice day. Food and coffee is excellent with the savoury Welsh cakes being a signature option here and at the Roath location. Really friendly staff - shout out to Robin for a lovely conversation with my breakfast. They also had posters up for Dirty Gnocchi doing evening food there, so we will definitely be back for that. Unexpected in this location but definitely recommended. There’s also parking outside, which is at a premium in this area.”

“Great little find! We followed the signs on the main road and was hoping for a homely pub. This pub was exactly that! Friendly staff, Great food and exactly what we needed after a long day being tourists around barry island and cardiff! Would highly recommend.”

“Pros: The rooms and breakfast (which you preorder) are excellent value for money. The facilities are also excellent. Very clean inside and plenty of fresh linen from the maid if you require. Lots of food and drink places within a few minutes walk. (The Four Elms is a great pub.) Cons: Our room (6) was on the top floor with no lift. It was small but nice. There is no good view from the dormer window. The parking was OK but I didn't like leaving my car there, as there was evidence that other cars had been broken into. I took off one star from location for this reason only.”

“Beautiful place to stay. Surrounded by sheep and fields, a quaint farm cottage to stay in which is really accessible to the local area for exploring. Kitchen had a nespresso, toaster and kettle and everything you need. The garden was immaculate as well. The owners were welcoming and left us to enjoy the stay in their peaceful farmhouse setting.”

“My two elderly dogs, a Cockapoo and a Bichonpoo, have just returned from a stay at the kennels, and I am delighted with the care they received. Both have complicated medication needs, which the kennels were able to accommodate with no issues. The pictures on Facebook of them playing outside with toys gave me real peace of mind while I was away. Laura was very informative and caring, and even gave them a bath at the end of their stay, which I was truly grateful for!”

“My two lurchers have stayed here a few times now. The kennels came recommended to me, but I was still a little nervous as one of my two can be quite unsure of other dogs - he loves them when he gets to know them, but can be quite barky initially as he's scared. I shouldn't have worried - he had a lovely time, came out not really fussed to see me, which I think is always a good sign, and next visit they both had their tails wagging and were really pleased to see the staff. Will definitely be visiting again!”
