“We truly enjoyed our dinner at The Society! Our server, Bee, was absolutely wonderful as she is warm, professional, and attentive. She made us feel so welcome and even took the time to ask about my food allergies, which allowed us to fully relax and enjoy our evening. Everything we ordered was exceptional: the beer was refreshing, the Margherita Pizza was marvelous, the Steak with Chimichurri sauce was perfectly cooked and packed with flavor, and the Miso Aubergine was tender and rich. We ended the meal with the Toffee Pudding and it was absolutely delicious! Every dish was a highlight, and the service made it all the more memorable. Hands down, the best dinner we’ve had in Edinburgh. Highly recommend!”
“Wendy does such a thorough and professional cut on Hamish. Very attuned to his nervousness too. Highly recommend the company.”
“An absolutely wonderful place to stop for a bite. Wide selection of food and beers. Chris at the bar will take great care of you. Also the staff on the floor are quick to pick up dirty dishes.”
“A cherished independent cinema that retains its original 1930s Art Deco character. With its single screen, classic auditorium, and unique "Moby Dick" whale feature, it offers an authentic, nostalgic film-going experience distinct from modern multiplexes, emphasizing atmosphere and community.”
“Great coffee, lots of plant based milks for the vegan or lactose intolerant. Many options: latte, cappuccino, mocha, chai - you name it and also, seasonal drinks. Also, lots of cakes and desserts. Personally tried a (vegan!) cinnamon bun/roll - whatever you wanna call it, it was delicious! Friendly owners/staff”
“I do love finding little gems like these. Great Cafe with a very generous portion size and fantastic coffee. I also had a lovely Victoria sponge from there, no photo as I devoured it far to quickly. If you're in the area and looking to treat yourself to a nice lunch I would definitely advise going here.”
“We had this cafe on our must visit and it was well worth the visit, it's great value for money, delicious food and the owners are really friendly and the man is a super talented artist, the theme is biker with some amazing memorabilia and photos, you can sign the wall and see where people have travelled from to visit”
“My husband and I were visiting Scotland from the states and this was our last night. I wanted pizza. We always try to find off the beaten path restaurants because they are usually better than your typical tourist area restaurants. My husband found this place and one look at the menu and I knew I was getting something other than pizza. From the first bit of the focaccia to the last bite of dessert it was amazing! My husband had the tagliatelle Marsala and I ordered the Panzerotti Porcini and we shared. I wish we had tried the pizza but we had no room left for another bite. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to these travelers with no advanced booking. From the hostess to the manager. If you ever find yourself in the Edinburgh airport area GO HERE!”
“This place has got to be one of the best restaurants in Edinburgh. Fairly priced, value for money most definitely. Staff really friendly and informative. The food was absolutely delicious. It was a little dark for photos, but here are some of the best of a bad bunch.”
“Lovely cafe with reasonable prices. Good coffee and fresh breakfast. Thank you”
“stopped in here 45 minutes before close on a monday night. a few pastas were sold out but still had options to choose from. we ended up with delicious salmon stracciatella pasta dish and a toasted focaccia panini. both hit just the right spot for a quick bite to eat before more adventures in edinburgh. filled us up without feeling overfull. boys behind the counter were extremely nice. for dessert we had a delicious cannoli to top it off, absolutely would come back here again. great quality at an unbeatable price. p.s. get the chinotto, a delicious refreshing italian soda”
“It’s great that there is a French cafe, specializing in galettes and crepes, close to the centre of Edinburgh. I have been to Le Petit Cafe twice. For galettes I would always go for the classic combination with ham and cheese, and that’s why I ordered the Parisian both times. The galette itself got a nice texture, with the tasty infill of melty cheddar cheese and ham, and a fried egg on top. There is a good variety of choices for both savory galettes and sweet crepes on their menu. We had two crepes following the galettes - one with chopped pistachio, white chocolate spread & pistachio ice cream which was a great mix of flavour; another one simply with salted butter caramel which was also nice, though I hope the texture of the crepes could be softer and tenderer (I come across such excellent texture once in Paris recently). Remember to try the French cappuccino, it came with cream on top which was definitely a great accompaniment to the food there.”
“Took my ps5 slim in as needed a hdmi replacement handed in Friday fixed within 2 days fast amazing service I will be coming to this person for all my future tech repairs”
“If you are lucky enough to catch the Little Green Van out on a nice day, I highly recommend you give it a try. The coffee is amazing. I got wild and ordered the Affogato (2 scoops of vanilla ice cream with two shots of espresso poured over top) it was HEAVEN IN A CUP. If you’re looking for a delicious coffee and a tasty treat, you can’t go wrong with this drink. Other than that, they had a lovely array of tasty looking treats, savory rolls, and pre-made paninis. The staff was a man and woman, and they couldn’t have been lovelier. This is the perfect stop if you happen to catch it on your morning stroll :)”
“I had a matcha lion’s mane with oat milk, and I think it’s one of the best drinks I’ve had recently. The staff are friendly, and the artwork on the walls is beautiful. This place is now on my list to try more drinks and pastries. It’s cosy and warm, and I’m really looking forward to visiting again.”
“My friend and I just came in for take away flat whites. It's such a tiny shop, they make your drink on the same side as the tables. There is space for 6 people and it's cramped. This is an incredible coffee spot. They pull the espresso with fantastic precision and they froth the milk perfectly. I am so happy that I came here and I HIGHLY recommend this coffee shop for anyone in the area.”
“Our stay at Ceilidh-Donia was wonderful! The staff were very kind and helpful, always ready to give advice and with a smile. Breakfast was delicious and varied, and the room was clean, tidy, and comfortable. The area is quiet and pleasant, perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. There is a very good bus connection to the Royal Mile (about 15 minutes), and if you prefer walking, it’s around 30–40 minutes on foot. I highly recommend this place to anyone planning a stay in Edinburgh!”
“Excellent selection of beers and cider with fantastic staff, and during Halloween, they supply fantastic pickled eggs”
“Good selection of savory food and cakes. Great coffee. Good price, friendly staff.”
“Excellent breakfast place! Cute and cozy decor. We tried filled croissants, porridge and this lovely pistachio cardamom cake. And also, probably the best coffee we had in the whole of Edinburgh!”
“Very lovely little restaurant, with excellent staff, a wonderful ambience and beautiful food. We had the 3 course dinner, sitting by the kitchen bar, which was very enjoyable watching the chefs prepare our food. Between the two of us, we were able to try each meat/seafood option, with the monkfish probably as our favourite. Would highly recommend as a special experience.”
“Very beautiful house with great hosts and a delicious breakfast...will definitely stay here again, when back in Edinburgh ❤️”
“We came up to Edinburgh from London in April for a friend’s 50th and came here on our last day for breakfast and it did not disappoint A beautiful place with amazing food and excellent service. My friend said that the haggis here was the best she’d ever tasted. It was my first time trying haggis and it was delicious as was everything else on my plate including the black pudding which I don’t usually enjoy. Going here was an excellent start to our last day in beautiful Edinburgh.”
“Absolutely lovely pub with a beer garden, very friendly and clean and nice atmosphere, reasonable prices too.”
“Best Italian pizza in Scotland!!! Friendly staff too. My family and I ate here 3 times in 10 nights. Highly recommend!!!”
“Great wee spot for great coffee and sweets. The little free library and atmosphere give it a great vibe to relax and enjoy some peace, either alone or with friends. The proprietor was not only personable but funny and knew how to read his people. Highly recommend and will be back.”
“The owner and staff are the loveliest people in Edinburgh: so generous, kind, and thoughtful with all their customers (and not just customers, anyone they see walking past on the street who needs assistance). I cannot count the number of times I've walked past this cafe and seen the owner helping someone out. An Edinburgh food classic. They make the best sandwiches, we won't stop coming here or recommending it :)”
“Breakfasthere is superb, and so is lunch. The soups are delicious. There is always ham hockey lenti, but the vegetable soups vary from day to day, and are always delicious. Home baking...cakes, frangipane tartlets, brownies carrotcake, Portuguese tarts, and always a big cake of some kind.ll fresh, light, and tempting. Oh..and the scones. Baked every morning, with freshly whipped cream and jam, or just butter...to die for. Forgot to say, the coffee is freshly ground, and they have a very rich and varied selection.and may different teas, well worth experimenting.”
“Amazing and friendly service. The food was delicious, I went for the French toast w/bacon banana and syrup, and the portion sizes were very generous!”
“Visited the penguin enclosure at Edinburgh Zoo last week and it was amazing! The penguins were the mist of their mating season and we could observe their behavior. Unfortunately, Penguins Rock can smell a little fishy but that is expected given the nature of the exhibit. Would recommend if you visit Edinburgh Zoo.”
