I had the fortune to get a pistachio cookie and it’s great. Will be back really soon. Everybody talks about what this Edin’s hidden gem has to offer, you need to see it for yourselves. Visit this venue, you won’t regret.”

“Fantastic cafe with a great ambience, friendly staff and owner and the food..... Delicious! I had the salmon bagel and then a cuppa tea and banoffee pie. Best Banoffee pie I've tasted in years. What had turned out to be a day of errands has become a beautiful day after having a delicious lunch here. Don't skip the cake - they are homemade and mouthwateringly good. Come here hungry and leave very very satisfied.”

The place was buzzing with people from all walks of life and the counter was absolutely groaning with an amazing selection of home baking. “Beautiful rooms, well located and a beautiful part of Edinburgh. Lovely selection of complementary products. Comfortable bed and a great shower with excellent pressure which I feel some hotels lack. I had forgot to take my earings which I’d left on the dressing table. I contacted the hotel and Amy delt with my enquiry. She was extremely helpful and was quick to reply to my query. My earing have been returned very promptly of which I am thankful for as they have sentimental value. Thanks again Amy.”

“It was our first time coming to Michael’s, the waiter guided us what we can eat because we only eat halal and non-alcoholic food. So there were only a few options for us in the menu. While waiting the for our food, they served us with a bread (which has this unique taste, love it!) For starter, we ordered the pan fried scallops (5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) For our mains, i ordered a vegetarian dish, beetroot with eggs and my girlfriend ordered seabass with mussels velouté. Both dishes were super delicious! (5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) As for our dessert, we shared a white chocolate and raspberry blondie. It was too sweet for me but my girlfriend enjoyed it! (4/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️). I would recommend this place, and surely come again! Hopefully they can add a few halal options :)”

“We stopped over this cafe in Rathos for a much needed cup of coffee, and we finally understood what the other reviewers meant by “great coffee and great banter”. Seriously, so stop by this cafe and have a chat with the proprietor. No matter how grey your day looks, it will definitely look better after that. I wish we could also have had lunch here since the food looked amazing, but hopefully we may have a chance to come back for lunch.”

“This charming and comfortable restaurant inside the Scotch Whisky Experience is a wonderful place. Staff are friendly and welcoming, and service throughout our dinner was exceptional. Both my husband and I got a 2-course meal. We started with the sea trout, which was very fresh and perfectly cooked. It was served with a potato cake, and fresh peas with fennel and a lovely white sauce. The dish was beautifully composed and presented. My husband had a 15-year-old whiskey, while I had lovely craft whiskey cocktail. For dessert, I had the chocolate whiskey tart and my husband had the sticky toffee pudding. Both were excellent. A perfect dining experience.”

Very cosy inside so be prepared to stand and wait for a seat. Also met tbe previous owner, and if they're still coming you know its a great pub. Fires on in the winter, with a selection of books and games in 'cosy' the back room. Great pub, always love coming here.”

“Great Greek food in Edinburgh! Family owned spot with authentic Greek food options and large portions. Everything we ordered was very flavorful and felt like being in Greece again. We chose the bread basket, tzatziki, pita pita (grilled chicken fillet with pita bread) and the yaourtlou. The bread was nicely grilled with a good covering of olive oil, salt and oregano. Addicting! The tzatziki was as they serve it in Greece and definitely a must order for the table. The chicken fillet was tender and very flavorful, served with thick cut fries. Finally the yaourtlou was delicious with a good serving of red tomato sauce, yogurt, herbs and spices with a large soutzoukaki portion. Happy to have come across this place while in Edinburgh!”

Children over 5 are allowed if they have food and are supervised in the back room which is spacious and has a range of Hearts FC memorabilia. The pub is very busy on match days from previous experience but today was spacious and bright. Famous for its very wide whisky range.”

The service was second to none (provided us with a table for 4, even when there was only 2 of us as it was so busy!) the staff were attentive and the speed of the drinks/starter/main was about the best I've experienced. Recommend the Chateaubriand, sides of potato Dauphinoise, Mac and cheese, seasoned steak chips and chilli broccolini. We also had the vegetarian Empanadas as a starter which were also delicious. A well priced selection of red wines to compliment as well.”
