“A superb place to hike; you can find many highland cows there in their wild, natural habitat. Be prepared to walk there off-road as the tracks finish as you go higher and higher. Would recommend taking hiking shoes as you have to walk on slippery or muddy surfaces. A coat is also highly recommended as it is very windy at the top.”

“What an amazing place to stay! Grateful to have found Hapimag. A short 10 minute walk to Princes Street and everything around. 20 min walk to Edinburgh Castle and 45 minute walk to Holyrood Palace (end of Royal Mile) so everything we wanted to see was in walking distance from here. Beautiful hotel. Everything about it was just great. Room was fantastic. Wife and daughter kept saying it reminded them of a Jane Austen movie. Decor was wonderful, beds were super comfy. Our room included two single Murphy beds that the kids used while we had our own master bedroom. Plenty of room to just sprawl out and enjoy the space. Would highly recommend for a stay in Edinburgh!”

“We had our wedding at Winton Castle on the 31st of May 2025. Winton truly has the most incredible people, venue and grounds. From initial contact all the way through to the weeks following our wedding, we felt confident and safe in their hands! From the moment we pulled up at Winton for our initial visit, there was no other option for our wedding venue. The castle and its grounds is so well looked after, it has been flawlessly maintained keeping its history and original features at its heart. Lexi was an absolute dream to work with, and although she has now moved on to a new chapter, you are in safe hands with any of the team at Winton. There is such a family feel about the place, although a castle, our wedding felt intimate and cosy. The staff on the day of and days leading up to the wedding could not have more for us, such attentive, warm and exciting energy. The team went above and beyond at every opportunity nothing was ever too much hassle from our arrival the morning of to us leaving the following day - for ourselves or any of our guests. Being able to stay at the castle with our closest family and friends made the whole thing even more special. The rooms at the castle are immaculate, and the renovations so well done that Finlay’s parents have used one of the en-suites for inspiration for their own home! The best nights sleep after an incredible day, and the breakfast was just wow! This is such a special venue and we cannot recommend it enough. The professionalism but warmth of the team made all planning seamless and our day ran immaculately. Every single detail was thought of and covered. We never worried about a thing and were able to relax and have fun on such a mad day. They are upfront about costs right from the start, there were no secret fees popping up that you hear about so often. Although obviously business, every step of the process felt so caring as everyone truly wants you to have the best day. I wish we could do this day over and over again, we are so lucky we got to get married at such a beautiful venue with such incredible an incredible team! Lauren and Finlay x”

“We ate lunch today Saturday 12th July at The Balerno Inn for my mother's 87th birthday. We were a mixed age group of 8 and there was something for each of us. The food was absolutely delicious, we really couldn't fault it in any way. Service was attentive in all the right ways. There is a lovely little playground so our grandson of 16months was entertained there until his food was ready. Everyone was so friendly as well. I would highly recommend this place for all occasions.”

“Lovely, chic and beautifully decorated b&b! The host was very friendly and helpful. Our room was very big, modern and most importantly - with a comfortable, big bed. It's in excellent location for the beach and with excellent public transport links to Edinburgh city centre. A must visit! Thank you Angela!”

“This long overdue review is finally being written because I'm thinking back of the wonderful 3-night stay I had at the end of August. :) The twin room was cozy, warm, and quiet after spending full days in Edinburgh. Oh and the Tunnock's caramel wafer biscuit and hot chocolate were welcome treats to return to and warm up to. LORNA IS WONDERFUL!! Every morning she made sure we started our day with her delicious breakfast offerings. Even though we had a car we opted to walk 10 minutes to the bus stop and take it to the city center. I enjoy walking out not surrounded by hotels and busy streets. It was nice feeling like a local and taking the 30 minute or so bus in. I highly recommend a stay and look forward to my next visit to Lorna and Whitecroft B & B! :)”

“Our stay at Ingleneuk B&B was fantastic. It is perfectly located to enjoy the city- and the countryside and it is easily reachable by bus. The room was clean and cosy, the shower was nice and the breakfast we got every morning was amazing. We got to choose what we wanted to eat the next morning out of a small menu with a great selection. Also the host, Lynda is a lovely and very friendly woman. We're happy to come back if we're ever gonna come to Edinburgh again (we stayed from 28.08.2023 - 31.08.2023). Lastly we recommend booking via the website, it was an easy booking process.”

“Our stay at Parkhead House was incredibly special. We recently spent two weeks in scotland, which included seven hotels. Parkhead House was one of our favorites. It was so charming, especially with the open fields in the back which included sheep and deer. James and Angela made us feel like cherished guests. The breakfast was wonderful and our own table was set beautifully. I love that James came to the door to great us. He has a wonderful connection to Outlander and I cant think of a better place to stay if you want to see Lollybroch! It was a perfect, homelike retreat. Thank you James and Angela for be such wonderful hosts.”

“I took my daughter and her friend who are 13. What a fantastic campsite. Clean facilities, even during night when i expected no toilet roll! The bike track looked great. The cafe and shop where both lovely. We enjoyed walking into Comrie. Staff where more than willing to help with any problems. The walk with a wheelbarrow up to the drum was tough myself but good much needed exercise!! We will definetely return. Thankyou”

“We rented through Burgh Property and the experience was great from start to finish. John, our property, manager got back to us promptly if we needed anything. Any minor repairs in the house (one of the radiators wasn't working) were fixed quickly and all paperwork and deposits were dealt with quickly. We would recommend renting with Burgh Property.”

“Your move Dalkeith provided a seamless, stress-free experience with their full-service package, including an excellent mortgage advisor and solicitor. The team, especially Glenn, was professional, knowledgeable, and attentive, ensuring smooth coordination between all services. Their mortgage advisor found the perfect deal, while the solicitor handled all legal matters efficiently. Having everything under one roof made the process incredibly convenient. This is my second time working with Your Move Dalkeith and planning to work with them in the future. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a hassle-free property journey.”

“A delicatessen for dogs! What a wonderful range of food and treats. They really know their products and their customers. A very good range of leads and collars. A small but very comprehensive range of toys too. However it's their huge range of beds that surprised me. I really wish I'd known before we bought our dog his bed. Amazon can't really give you a decent idea of bed scale and certainly can't let you actually feel the beds! My only quibble? I always buy far more than I ever plan to!”

“Thank you to Anne and Derek for taking care of our cat Morty on two separate occasions, he was rolling all over the floor when back home which is a good sign! They were both very helpful and kind - they showed us around before our first booking and sent me photos of Morty during our first booking, which was appreciated as I was worried about leaving him in a cattery. Would definitely recommend!”

“We dropped our little guy off for an hour while we did some shopping. He had a great time playing with the other dogs and did not want to leave when we came to pick him up. Monica is patient, knowledgeable and knows how to manage several dogs at once. We felt very comfortable leaving our pup in her care knowing that he would be safe and well taken care of. We'll be definitely coming back, and know that our doggo can't wait to go back either!”

“We have been bringing our dogs to Jacqui at K9 Friends for over 20 years, and we could not imagine a more professional, caring, and skilled groomer. Over the years, she has looked after several of our much-loved dogs - some sadly no longer with us - and we have always had complete confidence that they were in the very best hands. Not only are her grooming skills outstanding, but she also offers home boarding, where we knew our dogs were cared for with love and kindness while we enjoyed much-needed breaks. She always puts the dogs’ needs first, treating them as if they were her own. Now, with our 16-year-old Yorkie, her patience, compassion, and expertise mean more to us than ever. We truly could not wish for a better grooming service and we are so grateful for the care and dedication she has shown our dogs throughout the years.”

“Callum helped us with our 7 month old Rough Collie pup who had various anxieties (eg stairs, the lead, grooming, separation anxiety), reactivity to other dogs and new people (not aggressive but highly exciteable, pulling on the lead, jumping up, saying hello to everyone, human and dog) - Callum spent lots of time with us and listened to us closely, observed our pup with us indoors and outdoors/walking), gave his assessment, then spent time teaching us how to address the issues and how to support her longer term development, and included a lot of breed specific knowledge and information - our pup is now 11 months old and all of Callum’s advice has been so helpful to us and pup has made really good progress in all areas. Callum has been available for ongoing support if/when we needed it too. I highly recommend Callum to anyone reading this website and looking for a diligent and knowledgeable trainer who knows his stuff! He really assessed our puppy’s nature and needs very well, and our needs and expectations too.”

“The perfect place to stay for our mini moon in Edinburgh! The rooms were really comfortable, with a huge bed with lovely bedding. The room had everything we needed: towels and toiletries, hot drinks, TV, as well as access to a lounge area. The location was lovely and quiet, while still being close to the centre on foot and by tram (nearest tram stop was 15 mins walk away). It was a great surprise that many aspects of the B&B were eco-friendly, from the toiletries to the sourcing of the food. John was a great host, super friendly and helpful. You can tell he cares about making sure people have a good stay!”

“We couldn't have wished for a more beautiful location to stay. The cottage was very private and full of charm, with enclosed garden for our little dog. The amenities were comfortable and clean, it was a short drive to the nearest shops or Edinburgh park and ride. The WiFi was excellent (both of us worked remotely with no issues). The surrounding property was like something out of Beatrix Potter, with lots of walks and wildlife. We can't wait to return!”
