“Absolutely phenomenal! Ribeye cooked to perfection, chunky chips were really nice and cooked well. Stilton Diane sauce was also really good. The star of the show for us unbelievably was the white chocolate cheesecake with berry compote. This dessert was so light and tasted amazing, honestly one of the nicest things ive ever tasted! Served by Holly, fantastic service and friendly smile. Made sure we were looked after during our visit. Very informative and well presented. The dining area was very clean and modern, a real nice place to sit and enjoy a meal. 5 stars all round.”

“We enjoyed a delicious Sunday lunch with friends today. I savored a comforting plate of chicken supreme smothered in rich red wine gravy, accompanied by perfectly roasted potatoes, fresh seasonal greens, and a creamy mashed root vegetable medley. To top it all off, we were delighted to receive a complimentary bottle of wine! We finished the meal on a sweet note with dessert and coffee. The waiting staff were very attentive and ensured our experience well.”

“Absolutley loved the food here and will be going again without a doubt. Good quality, hot food. The only downside was the tables are very close together and so you can hear every word of every other conversation going on. Found myself raising my voice just so I could have a conversation.”

“Beautiful restaurent, locating the entrance was a bit daunting being alone but once I was inside, it felt like a hidden gem. There was an excellent efficient service with hard working young, polite gentlemen. The restaurant had a lot of character and beautifully decorated. The heating made the booth nice and cosy which made a big difference as it was near the enterence. The tables were clean and had very comfortable seats. Lovely range of curries, however there was no drinks menu but staff were well trained enough to let us know the available beverages. It would have been better with some background music as other tables got understandably very festive and loud. Overall we all enjoyed the food and will be back. The biriyani was amazing, one of the best ones I have had in a long while. The curries were all lovely but surprised that the tikka masala was unexpectedly sweet, tasted good still so I was happy.”

We are all a little neuro spicy and the right lighting is very important. Helen in particular was a delight. Welcoming, pleasant and knowledgeable about the product. The party was enjoyed by everyone who attended street food was fantastic lighting set the miid and dj/ karaoke Steve worked hard to include everyone. I have been to this venue before and will definitely use it again. Recommended”

“We have just returned home from Thornton Hall after a fabulous wedding anniversary meal. The service, especially from Carl, was delightful. Carl was so lovely and we enjoyed chatting with him and having a few giggles along the way. His attentiveness was just right. We had champagne, oysters and lobster ravioli for starters, the bisque with the ravioli was divine. Then we both had the roast beef Sunday lunch. The beef was perfectly pink, the Yorkshire was lovely and crisp and the beef jus was deep and rich in flavour, it really pulled the meal together. Thanks to the fabulous chefs. I had the lemon meringue pie for dessert and my husband had a cheese board. We shared of course and both were amazing, the meringue on the pie was delicious. We also had fabulous service from another server, we didn’t catch her name sorry but Carl handed us over to her when his shift ended, which a lovely touch. Highly recommend for a special occasion, it was faultless.”

“So, first we went to another local restaurant, which didn't have a Christmas dinner ready at lunch time the first day of offering. Anyway, we thought we'd try and get in Nelson's, even though we knew it would be quite busy. The car park was quite full, but even though we had come in two cars, we found parking and went in. Christmas lunches were in full effect and the dine area was full and we couldn't get a party of three until 90 mins later. However, we could sit and be served in the lounge straight away, so we did that. We had the turkey dinner pictured and it was delicious, lots of food and everything was cooked to perfection. The gravy was lovely too. We then had a chocolate and toffee cheesecake for dessert and that was also delicious and a decent portion with a little scoop of ice cream. The staff were great and our waiter had an attention to detail I wasn't expecting. Overall I would recommend highly. My preconceived thoughts were it's going to be pretentious, but it really wasn't.”
