Had a lamb madras and chicken madras - the restaurant adjusted the heat of the latter for my guest. Good range of drinks. Kingfisher and Cobra beer and spirits, liqueurs etc. Food served at table on heated metal plates. Gave us a free side dish (sag aloo). Little chocs at end. I always come here when staying in the area. Nice evening.”

“Me and my family have been going here for YEARS it is always perfect without failure, chops are always fresh and hot, pies are crispy and overall delicious, chicken balls and prawn balls are both crispy and really good with both curry and sweet&sour sauce and the chow meins can't be beaten. Tonight I had the best beef chow mein of my life, I never knew you could order it without beansprouts! Thank you for that perfect dish and thanks for serving us all these years”

“Calcutta is great Indian restaurant located in a beautiful historic building in the picturesque town of Stony Stratford. We ordered, scallops, king prawns, chicken and lamb. All of which was cooked very nicely and had very nice flavour. Overall considering location, decor, service and food Calcutta Brasserie gets a 5 star rating. Recommended.”

“What a great little place! We stayed for a night whilst visiting Santa Pod. On arrival, Bobby came to meet us, showed us where we were staying, and gave us our keys. There were a couple of rooms accessed from the side of the establishment via a locked door, which you were provided a key for along with your room key. Once inside, there was a communal area with iron and board, Bobby's contact details should we need them and the WiFi info. From here, there was access to a shared kitchen we could make use of, which was very clean. It had all the amenities you could want. Then there were also the entrances to the rooms. Our room was brilliant, with what looked like a queen size bed. Which was amazing! It was decorated very tastefully and impeccably tidy throughout. The ensuite was exceedingly clean. We had our evening meal at the Spice Tree, Indian Restaurant, which shared the premises. The food was so delicious, and the staff were lovely and friendly. All in all, a great stay which I wouldn't hesitate to book again. Thanks Bobby!”
