βWe came in to give the breakfast a try for a change to other locations at the lakes and were very pleasantly surprised. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The food beat expectations and was easily the best quality available at the lakes. We'd definitely stop by again, thank you Grace and Erica.β
βAbsolutely love this place. The food is always gorgeous, generous enough portions for me to negate room for pudding so I've gone for just pudding now too. Equally as gorgeous. Friendly managers make you feel welcome. Large car park, campers can park overnight if buying food. No actual dining room but a variety of sized tables, some with cushioned bench sofas. Obviously a good selection of wines and drinks, teas and coffee. The beams are low, I've never not seen someone have to duck but it's well lit so everyone can see them. Child and dog friendly. Even a small shop with locally made incense sticks, aroma bottles, crafts, sweets and sometimes food products, biscuits. AND you can buy food to feed the piglets, when they have them. Definitely a recommend from me.β
ββοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈ This was our 6th visit to The Knife & Cleaver, and I thought it was about time I left a proper review. My partner and I always come here for a little getaway, and every time weβre reminded why we keep coming back. The staff are consistently friendly and welcoming, which makes such a difference. The room we stayed in was lovely, comfortable, and just what we needed for a relaxing break. For dinner, I had a three-course meal cooked by Gary, and the fish and chips were absolutely spot on. Gary even came out to say hello, which was such a nice personal touch. Manager Sue also made us feel very welcome, adding to the warm atmosphere. After our meal, we headed to the bar where Acer mixed up some cracking cocktails for my partner. Between the great drinks, the friendly service, and the easy banter at the bar, it really felt like being among friends. What stands out most is how well the whole team works togetherβitβs rare to see a place where everyone gels so naturally, and it makes the experience that much better. Weβll definitely be back again in the future. If youβre planning a spa day at Woburn, Iβd highly recommend finishing it off with a stay here. Thanks again to the whole teamβyouβre a crazy, brilliant bunch, and weβll see you soon!β
βWow! My son and I visited a few weeks back and we are still talking about how great it was. As first-timers, we weren't sure what to order, but the friendly staff immediately made us feel at ease and guided us through the menu. We took their advice on a few items and ended up ordering a feast! Honestly, there wasn't a single thing that disappointed us. Each dish was packed with flavour and clearly made with care. We headed upstairs to eat and found the seating area to be spotless and quiet, which was perfect for a late-night meal. If you're considering trying it out, just do it. We had a fantastic experience from start to finish and will definitely be returning.β
βWe enjoyed a wonderful lunch at the Marks & Spencer cafe in Rushden Lakes. Many of the other eateries are quite pricey and serve larger portions, so it was a real pleasure to find a healthy, goodβvalue meal here. Weβll definitely be returning.β
βStayed here twice now and both times were fantastic. Rooms are clean and well-maintained, staff are friendly, location is great. What more can I say? Would definitely stay there again.β
βWe popped in by chance on a sunny evening and were super impressed. The food was fresh and delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive. It was my wife's birthday and we had a wonderful time, highly recommended. Jason & Amandaβ
βAfter a wet windy afternoon at lamport hall craft fair, the roaring fire was most welcome at the inn! Evie who was the most attentive waitress showed us to a fantastic table ! 2 of us had trio of beef,βlamb, pork roast dinner ! Which was delicious! Best yorky puds Iβve ever had, cheese cake for pudding , all scrumptious !β
βLovely pub.. friendly staff and locals.. good beer selection.. large beer garden.. dog friendlyβ
βThe landlady of this public house called Rachel. She has been one of the most welcoming people I have met in a public house Northampton I suffer with borderline personality disorder and I'm on the autistic spectrum I'm very quirky and discombobulated and she has welcome to me all the time is never judge me to the way I am. Have appreciated been able to stay in here today most of the day as I am not feeling too bad I'm very very grateful to her allowing me to stay in here and now bought a few drinks and sorry for but you know she has been very welcoming and you know I sometimes can feel like socially awkward but she is a great great person to be around even though she obviously I'm not around her but she has made me feel welcome her staff as well be very welcoming. THIS HAS NOT BEEN MADE BECAUSE I'VE BEEN ASKED TO MAKE IT I'VE DONE THIS WITH YOU MYSELF BECAUSE I BELIEVE IT SHOULD BE DONE PEOPLE SHOULD BE GIVEN RECOGNITION ON WHAT THEY DO AND HOW THEY DO THE CUSTOMER SERVICES NOW WELCOME THEY ARE BECAUSE PUBS ARE NOW DYING AND YOU KNOW IT'S NOT VERY NICE WHEN YOU GO TO MASSIVE ESTABLISHMENTS AND YOU HAVE MENTAL HEALTH PROBLEMS. IT CAN MAKE YOU HAVE A LOT OF ANXIETY. I'm grateful for being able to chill and do my thing and argue many thanks to the staff and the landlady of the headlands pub Northampton. βGreat pub. Excellent team! Greta place for a bite to eat and watch sports, we asked for the darts and it wasn't an issue, will definitely be backβ
βThey got my delivery order wrong (gave us extra rice instead of noodles) but I called up and they agreed to make a second trip to send over the noodles and let us keep the extra rice. Came really quickly and the food was good quality. Well doneβ
βLovely setting and great service. Food was fabulous and even for myself being a celiac non gluten eater they were very helpful, helping me choose items of the menu and checking on things with the chef. Bought bread rolls out for our other party members quickly followed by a non gluten bread roll for myself. Portion. Size of food is big and delicious. Not cheap but worth it.β
βWe had an amazing evening celebrating a family birthday. The welcome, service, atmosphere, and food were all outstanding, and we all had a fantastic time! The choice of dishes is very varied, so there are traditional classics on there as well as world fusion dishes - the chorizo Scot h egg was a definite winner! Special shout out to Flo and the kitchen team who made our night! See you again soon!β
βwe had a wonderful stay at the swan hotel. The room was spacious and had everything I needed, with dΓ©cor that was modern and really beautifully done. The thermal spa session was incredibly relaxing and definitely a highlight of our visit. The restaurant offered a great choice of food, and everything was excellent value for money. Overall, a fantastic experience, we will definitely be coming back.β
βI left Riseley 50 years ago and it was lovely to be back, a warm welcome at The Fox and Hounds, great atmosphere, staff and a fantastic choice of vegan food. They even gave me an early birthday chocolate brownie. Hopefully not 50 years until next time.β

βWe recently stayed at the Mercure, Milton Keynes, while visiting a friend. The hotel is immaculately clean, modern and in a great location. The staff were all super friendly and attentive. Our room was on the ground floor quite close to reception. And although the room was spacious and clean, we found the bed to be a tad uncomfortable, perhaps because it's a linked bed. Nothing major but worth noting. During the night there was a dripping noise, presumably from the air-conditioning unit, which again was bearable but could be an issue to some. We stayed in the autumn but I'm sure in the summer, the AC would be very welcome. The rooms were cleaned daily, although one day our room seemed to have been half done. Towels were changed and bathroom cleaned but the bed not made up or coffee sachets left. This was rectified by reception, so once again not a problem. The rooms have multiply sockets, with USB points which is a luxury in itself. We didn't eat in the restaurant but the bar food was delicious and more than ample. We have an EV and although the chargers weren't working while we were there, there were plenty of high speed chargers in MK. My husband and I would definitely stay here again, the issues I've mentioned are very minor so please don't let these out you off staying at this hotel.β
βWe were so well looked after over the 3 nights we had our stay. Kim & Joe were so quick to sort things out when we needed them too, which was much appreciated. The rooms are a little tired, but that is no reflection on the service we received from the staff. The location is excellent to get to the MK stadium, just 5 minutes or so.β
βMy wife Linda and I have stayed many times at the Swan and always found it a pleasure. Linda is waiting for a hip operation and finds it very difficult to get comfortable in bed. Consequently she often has to sleep in a chair. We stayed two nights recently and when we mentioned this to the housekeping staff they went out of their way to help, They brought other chairs from elsewhere in the hotel, provided an extra duvet and suggested ways of making Linda comfortable. Thank you very much to them all.β
βThis is a great local eaterie. Do not judge the book by its cover. The staff are polite and professional, and the food is great & and very competitively prices. Try it. I can guarantee that you will not be disappointed.β
βHands down the best pizza in MK Iβve ever had. 18 inch pizzas, quality is amazing. Lots of cheese, toppings cooked well and seasoned. Great pricing and delivery just eats was an outstanding service too. Highly recommend the sides were incredible too, potato wedges finally soft and fluffy rather than hard like dominoes and Pizza Hut. Just over the moon with it! Keep going like that and youβll definitely be hearing from us again.β
βThe chicken waffle breakfast was absolutely spot on. The waffles were light and perfectly crisp, the chicken was tender with a brilliant coating, and the balance of sweet and savoury was just right. Every bite was full of flavour, and it felt like proper comfort food done really well. The staff were amazing too β friendly, welcoming, and made the whole experience even better. A brilliant way to start the day, and Iβd happily order it againβ
βGreat pub, lovely setting and very welcoming, can't wait to go back for food only had drinks this time.β
βGreat Pub. We initially decided to go because they are dog friendly and that was it. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed the staff are all lovely. Car parking is great, all areas of the inn are clean, bright and comfortable. We went here for New Years Eve and had a great night. The teamwork is fantastic and organised. We didnβt expect much of the food for New Yearβs Eve with it just being burgers, scampi chips etc but the burgers were delicious, everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. Despite not being our nearest pub it is now our new local and well worth the 30 minute walk. The staff and atmosphere make this place. Well done for putting on a great night.β
βSome really good prices, their own ready made luxury moussaka is a lovely meal, & to be honest you couldn't buy the ingredients and make it for that price. UPDATED: we have just had some frozen meals from there, I had a sweet& sour chicken & some battered chicken with sweet & sour sauce, very very good, decent chicken in it,& microwaved the sweet & sour, I'm not a not a massive microwave fan but it really works well. Husband had a chicken vindaloo, he said the chicken in it was very good, the flavour was excellent & it was hot, apparently nearly as good as a takeaway one. If you buy on a Tuesday you get 10% discount for seniors.β
βGreat place to visit with family or friends. Went here with a small group for bowling. It was great fun. Staff were friendly and helpful and the atmosphere overall was good.β
ββWent here on Saturday, 18/01/25, for a birthday celebration. The food was very goodβnice, homemade-style dishes. Unfortunately, as it was our first time visiting, I felt a little unwelcome by some of the regular customers.ββ
βNever really been here before it has just changed hands as never appealed, but the food is fantastic , and has now become our regular eatery, especially as on a Monday they offer 25% off the food bill, the fillet steak is Beautiful & cooked to perfection, also they make a great strawberry daiquiriβ
βNice and local. Use it or lose itβ
