Only thing letting our stay down was beefeater next door very unruly children screaming at breakfast bouncing on chairs and parent plus staff doing nothing about it. “Dunston Hall Hotel is a grade 2 listed manor house which is stunning inside and out. Myself and my mum stayed here for business and leisure had a lovely girly weekend and used all the spa and health club facilities. Our massages and facials were top notch and the staff at the spa are very lovely people. We had a meal in the Garden Terrace both nights. The food took a while to come out but I do not mind waiting as I know what pressure is put on the hospitality staff. Couldn't fault the food. It was very tasty and good portion size. I have to mention our waiter Will. Will looked after us and gave us regular updates on the food times. He was very polite, pleasure to talk to and a very hard worker. I hope he gets the acknowledgement he deserves. I've been in your shoes and know how customers treat us. Me and mum wanted to tip you but I knew all tips go to everyone and we wanted to you to have it. So instead I hope this message reaches you. Thank you for making our evenings, that little bit more special. The only downfall of this hotel is that its children friendly. When you look at this building you wouldn't think children are allowed here because this is a Elizabethan manor house & golf club. In my opinion this automatically gives off a regal and dignified atmosphere. Some families had well behaved children and they were no problems. However when in the restaurant and in the health club, there were kids screaming, miss behaving and the parents nor staff were doing anything about this. I don't mind it being a child friendly hotel, but there needs to be some respect for the people that want a relaxing weekend. Other than this, me and my mum had a lovely weekend stay.”

“A 2 night stay with my wife for a weekend away. We had chosen a suite which is located away from the main hotel building. This offers a spacious accomodation comprising a large lounge area with mini fridge, a separate bedroom and a bathroom. This is the second time we had stayed at this particular Hotel in Norwich. The staff are attentive, professional but remain friendly and approacable. Breakfast is good, although I did not dine at the Hotel, booking would be recommended. The Hotel itself is approx 2 miles from Norwich centre so a walkable distance with the train station much closer, with suitcases it would only be a short taxi ride. Oaklands is certainly my preferred Hotel when staying in Norwich”

“First time staying over in Norwich - we've visited before but only while staying in Norfolk. We tried this hotel based on reviews and Booking.com It is in a nice part of town - St Giles - some distance from Cathedral (15 mins), Castle (10 mins) and Station (about 15 mins). But it is a nice neighbourhood with good restaurants. Quite a bit of Norwich is roughish, rogueish, riffish and raffish sadly, as I have found in a lot of English towns. It is a variable feast, but there's plenty to see and do especially if you are young and enjoy smoking pot. The hotel is very grand (common parts) as it was I think an insurance company HQ back in the day. The rooms are OK - large, but bathrooms are rather dated, and towels not fluffy enough for me. The staff are very friendly and helpful indeed. The bar is well-stocked and run. The common parts living room was nice too The breakfast was really nicely done. Overall, it is pricier than some places, but it has charm, character, is welcoming and does much well. I would go back. Some charming photos to help you decide whether to go to Norwich or Not(wich).”

“I was a single traveler from Alabama who stayed at this hotel for 13 nights while visiting friends in the area. The room was warm, clean and practical. The single bed with ensuite included everything I needed, including a comfy single bed with 2 pillows and a fluffy duvet, USB ports, and kettle with a generous selection of teas and coffee. The room came with hand soap and hand lotion (both in a pump), and the shower was equipped with shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The armoire in the room is worth mentioning, as it was highly functional with different compartments where you can arrange your clothing and shoes in the shelves provided on once side of the closet. On the other side, I was able to place a small clothes hamper under my hanging clothes (hangars are provided) within the armoire. I appreciated having a place to tidily store my things! I was also able to easily adjust the radiator in the room (there is another in the bathroom). It works great and the room gets warm very quickly when needed. There was a little noise at night from the street outside, but I slept well every night and didn’t need to use my earplugs. On to the hotel service… I can't commend Emma and the team enough. All members of staff were courteous, helpful and extremely polite. I appreciate the attention to detail. For example, I like milk with my coffee, so housekeeping noticed and provided me with ample milk pods and coffee sachets each time they serviced the room- without me having to ask. Each time I had a question about the area or needed something (like a hairdryer, which they happily provided), I was greeted with warmth and enthusiastic service. On this trip to the UK, I was looking for a budget hotel so I could stay a bit longer and still enjoy the basic amenities that hotels provide. What I received was much more that that- a good room with those amenities, yes, but also 5-star service that made me feel I was coming “home” each night, being greeted like family every time I returned. Emma and team, thank you for a wonderful experience. I heartily recommend the Central Hotel Norwich.”

“I used North Norfolk Small Pet Hotel to look after my daughters two Guinea pigs whilst away for our summer holiday this August. Niamh was happy to accommodate our piggies indoor cage and their daily cleaning, to mirror their home routine. I couldn’t have asked for a better service, our piggies were happy and healthy when we collected them and perfectly clean. You could tell Niamh just loves animals so much and treats your pets like her own, while in her care. Will definitely be using again if available, and would highly recommend to other small pet owners.”

“I love locally and always enjoy coming here, especially for family get togethers. We had the Festive menu tonight which was very reasonably priced and delicious. I had the camembert, which was a fraction overcooked but still delicious. A few people had chicken tenders which looked amazing (see my Sister in law's picture attached). Steak was cooked perfectly, and cheesecake was lovely too. The staff here are always very friendly and attentive. Thank you for a perfect evening. I look forward to coming back soon.”

“I stayed at the Norwich Central Travelodge due to its location, it is convenient for public transport just one minute from the bus station. The hotel definitely need a make over but the staff are very kind and polite. Zuzanna in the Bar on breakfast and the Hotel Manager Nalend is very polite and professional. Nice to see her checking the building early the morning and greeting customer. Very well managed.”

“The staffs were really helpful and they have a great heart. The day I reached Norwich the hotel was full. Staffs didn't let me down and offered me free lunch the way Indians behave. My company booked a hotel for me was that bit away from the city centre. So I went to check if they have any room empty. I can't comment much because I didn't stayed there but the people and the location was really nice. Thank you so much for the great humanity you people showed. It's been 4 years it had happened but I couldn't say thanks. Because when I came back to India, I forgot the name of the hotel and today after searching my office document I could find the name.”

“Stay here if you love old places. The building dates from the 1st Elizabeth's reign and has all the wonky floors and crooked beams you could desire. Run by lovely people who are very helpful. Great breakfast properly cooked. Lots of coffee. One star had to be lost for the dated decoration in the rooms but the place is super clean and the beds very comfortable. We had a huge room for 4 with bathroom (again old but they will get to it. If you stay here it will help them sustain this glorious building!) and views of the quirky main street of Harleston. I had never heard of the town before I went, but I would love to go back. Sadly the towns we visited in Norfolk were spoiled by anti social behaviour from the useless few. But I'm sure the local people dislike that as much as you do. PS sorry we were noisy on Saturday but what with Liverpool winning the cup and France giving the UK douze points I couldn't hold it in....”

“A really well managed course with immaculate, true-running greens. Challenging rough can lead to ball being 'lost in plain site' as can the plentiful autumn leaves (note to self - do not use yellow/orange balls in autumn) but this adds to the challenge of the course. A great mix of long flat holes which challenge your club distance and some nice elevated and dog-leg challenges too. An enjoyable course and very picturesque.”

“It was the first time we were leaving our Lola to go on holiday; we were a bit anxious about it as we were not sure how she would settle in the hotel. We were extremely relieved after receiving the first email with updates and photos of Lola. She looked happy and very well looked after. She had a nice pen, with toys and a window to look out of. We were impressed with the care The Cat Hotel offered and provided. A vet checked her over before her stay, which was reassuring, and all the staff were very helpful and friendly.
