“Nice place with small playing for children and for walking and playing football”
“The recreation ground has a huge grassed area for playing ball games, walking the dog or just relaxing. There is also a children's play area, a water sprinkler area & a toilet block.”
“I’ve been a customer of this company for 11 years and always found them very competent. Thomas managed my motor insurance renewal today and was efficient, personable and professional.”
“The leisure centre has recently been renovated and is now even better, with coffee facilities and other modern equipment.”
“Mayflower Park is a very nice park on the eastern bank of the River Test. It is located between the passenger and cargo terminals of the Port of Southampton, and is near the confluence of the rivers Test and Itchen (which together form Southampton Water, which the drains into the Solent in front of the Isle of Wight, and then into the English Channel). The river bank offers spectacular views of the dawn and dusk skies just as the sun sets over the cargo terminal. From time to time, you may even see huge container ships docking at the terminal, which is a spectacle in itself. Looking far enough towards the south, where Southampton Water drains into the Solent, you can see Fawley Refinery, the biggest oil refinery in the UK (I once caught one of the many chimney towers spewing out flames from various gases, and they looked lovely from the distance). There are even ducks that occasionally swim near the bank. Sometimes there may be events taking place on the Mayflower Park that may cause a little bit of noise. When I’m writing this review, the Continental Circus Berlin had a few shows over the course of about 2 or 3 weeks, and the noise was noticeable even near the river bank (even with the large circus tent positioned a few hundred feet away from the bank). And the actual river bank, complete with benches for you to sit on, is rather annoyingly occupied by a car park (but I think it makes sense, because the site of Mayflower Park used to be occupied by a large warehouse/building for commercial purposes - do let me know if you know additional details). Overall, though, Mayflower Park is a wonderful park with a huge grassy area if you want a nice little picnic, or if you just want to sit by the river and let your mind get carried away by the beautiful scenery or the ships. Happy visiting!”
“My happy place! The whole family are now members and we love it. Everyone is so friendly, classes are great and instructors are professional and inspiring. A great place to work out but also perfect for meeting friends for a coffee in Starbucks or a drink in the pub.”
“Lovely area to find in an enclosed and safe environment.”
“Children loved it, perfect for warm days. Park, fountains, a sitting pool area, ice cream van and a field. Perfect for the summer holidays”
“Southampton Bike Park Open to all Newly laid out and looks fun. A great place for youngsters and not so youngsters to enjoy mountain biking fun.”
“A very good place to watch the world go by on the Hamble River, some great views. A great place to walk the dog.”
“There is a big car park here and a great city location to walk around and let the best friend off the lead and run off free. The dogs love it too!!”
“Went for an Aqua Christmas Do. Well organised, good venue with efficient staff.”
“A must visit for out of town fitness lovers! I love coming here whenever I’m in town. Finally got to try a cycle class with Andy, who was so amazing. What a wonderful community and fun opportunities to sweat in classes or simply work out at the gym! Can’t wait to return”
“Lovely park, I walk the dog here regularly. Can get a bit muddy so best to wear boots”
“Grown up around this lake, slowly getting better as nature intended for the location and history of the Lake. All good rounder not just for fishing and walks but outdoors camping... But please look after your surroundings and take rubbish to the bins provided!”
“Really excellent facilities with the indoor and outdoor swimming pool, slight bit of updating needed on changing rooms but based on the rest of the site I would sat it won't be long and they'll be done.”
“I’m thinking Coming here To Look Around The Site This Place was On Brittas Empire I want To see What Is Original From The Tv Program Or Change Is Free enter there No Price List Just Look around Or use the cafe”
“We hired the small pool for a birthday party. It was excellent value for money and would highly recommend. We could use the pool for one hour and have a maximum of 30 people in the water but one adult for every 2 under 8. Our party was only 10 children and 3 adults in the water and this gave the children loads of space to play. The centre provided floats, noodles, sinkers and balls to make the party really fun. You can also hire a room for your own food after, at an extra (but reasonable) cost. The pool was well maintained and looked after and the lifeguards were doing a great job too. changing facilities were clean and showers worked well.”
“This place has changed my life. A referral made by my physio after a long recovery from slipped discs and sciatica, I headed here to meet Rachel. She helped by talking through the plan going forward after hearing my story. I have a gym membership now and have started by swimming and attending aqua classes which you can book easily on line when available. They are amazing! So far I've done the hydro classes on weekday mornings, and the rehab class on a Wednesday evening. Different instructors each time but all have been so enjoyable. A great workout which you can do to your comfort levels. Each time I've left the pool I've felt like jelly without having the discomfort during the class. Thanks to these classes I'm already feeling more confident in my abilities and getting stronger day by day. All ages and abilities are welcome and I would highly recommend.”
“I was here on the 27th of April for Comic-con a good way to spend too much money ! Everything was very reasonably priced left Home with a basically brand-new Nintendo Wii for £30 plus some other things”
“I actually play cricket here. This area is well maintained. Parking is not open to public it is locked access. There is a pavilion but this also is access only. There are tennis courts but not much more. Many walk their dogs here round the field. There is no play structure for kids it is just a playing field.”
“I go weekly swimming lessons and it is amazing. All of the staff there are super nice. The facilities are also amazingly high quality. If you are a parent reading this and are looking for swimming lessons for your child or any other sporting activities that they provide then this is the way to go.”
“Holly Hill Leisure Centre and its team provide excellent sport and fitness service and facilities and is thoroughly recommended. Annual membership costs are pretty reasonable, and even if you are not a member you can still pay-as-you-go. It has a lovely wide 25m pool and a kiddies pool too. The gym and spin room have plenty of fitness equipment, and a couple of large studios enable a lot if different classes. Despite its popularity and usage, the whole establishment is kept notably clean! The staff are friendly, knowledgable, helpful and have a ‘can-do’ attitude. The mid and upper management team are notable in that they always seem to be interacting with the staff and monitoring the running and maintenance of the whole facility in a friendly but professional way. Parking is free and rarely a problem; an adjacent coffee (and ice cream!) booth and excellent kids playground round off the experience for all ages.”
“Very good environment and new euipment. I usually use badminton court every early morning, it opens accurately everyday just like sun rise. Swimming pool as well, I'm so satisfy with temperature.”
“Nice sports centre had a mini comic con arranged by local shop trader 16th November”
“We are from Southampton but we are rather will travel to the Romsey Rapids swimming pool when spent our time in west quay swimming pool, because it's small and there's nothing what to do .My daughter loves to go to the Romsey rapid sport complex. There is so fun and so much what to do . We were impressed with the big slide. It is worth to go there.”
“Excellent lunch. Lovely food and service in a great setting.,”
“Excellent coaching and a great atmosphere. My granddaughter loves it.”
“A real top gentleman. Professional service and good value.”
“Town Quay Park is a hidden gem in Southampton! I love how this park offers a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The greenery is well-maintained, and the flowerbeds are a burst of color, especially in the spring and summer. It’s the perfect spot to relax with a book or have a picnic with friends. The park is also very family-friendly with open spaces for kids to run around, and it’s dog-friendly too, which is a big plus. There’s a nice mix of shade and sun, so you can find the perfect spot depending on the weather. The views of the water are calming, and you can even watch the boats go by from some spots. Whether you're looking for a quiet stroll, a place to unwind, or just somewhere to enjoy a bit of nature, Town Quay Park is worth a visit. It’s a small, but charming, green space in the heart of Southampton. Highly recommend!”
