“Almost 8 years on, great food every time - both eat in and take away.”
“Delicious food and great, friendly service. We have been here quite a few times and always enjoy it. We'd definitely recommend.”
“I contacted The Bengal Inidan Restaurant with query about a Christmas work buffet. The were very responsive, polite and answered queries regarding dietary requirements. We discussed various options and decided on a starter buffet. On collection day they were very helpful directing us to their car park and loading items into our car. The food came in lovely large sturdy foil containers and we actually received a few more items than ordered. The buffet was a resounding success, very postive comments on the items, the onion bhaji's were delicious and a favourite. With past sandwich buffets there was always sandwiches left but this year everything was cleared up. We would definitely recommend The Bengal and hope to use them again in the future. Thank you”
“Tasty food and humble service! customization options on cooking! You will be delighted as soon as the food reaches your tongue! The taste of the sauce and the gravy are absolutely mind blowing!”
“Ordered a takeaway from Rilys and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. We usually avoid Indian takeaways, as the dishes are often overly modified and lack authentic flavour. However, the food from Rilys defied expectations — it was authentic and very tasty. The portion sizes were generous, and I would definitely give them five stars for that.”
“Wonderful meal! Friendly staff and delicious food. Very engaging owners. A lovely experience for the Canadian visitors.”
“Love this place food reasonable, very tasty, next door an off licence. Staff are lovely and owner so polite. Can't beat it nice quiet venue . Big portions and the waiters are lovely.”
“Possibly the best curry I’ve ever eaten! As a Birmingham resident I have eaten and cooked from scratch a fair number of curries. We were invited to try this restaurant by my parents who live locally. I booked a table as there were 6 of us. I got a lovely confirmation email. It was welcoming and told me that the restaurant wasn’t licensed and inviting me to bring my own alcohol. My family do not need telling twice! We were welcomed like old friends into a lovely clean, modern restaurant, and the toilets were very good, too! We were given glasses suited to the drinks we had bought, flutes, pint glasses and highball. The menus were expansive and clear. We ordered and were served quickly. Everything was freshly cooked and hot(temperature). We were asked when we wanted our mains, so did we want to wait, and were served quickly when we said we were ready. My parents had the shared fish starter which looked and tasted, I’m told fantastic. I didn’t try it but they polished it off quickly! Everyone was super happy with their mains, rice and naans. I’m sorry I didn’t take pictures or take notice of what we all ordered. I will just have to return to do a better job! Seriously, the food was amazing and possibly the best curry I’ve ever eaten. Big claim but don’t take my word for it, please go and try it for yourself. I think you will be pleased.”
“The food in here is delicious! Cooked to order as I’ve ordered different curries on different occasions milder than on the menu and they’ve done this for me no problem. The service in terms of bringing food out is a bit slower but it’s to be expected to be when cooking such delicious food. Our 2 year old daughter enjoys the food in here too.”
“Had takeaway delivered yesterday and the food was delicious and plentiful. Will definitely be using again.”
“Shika's takeaway, has some great selection of Indian food, staff are friendly and some nice offers on Monday and Tuesday. Food was great.”
“Food was very nice, and the service of the manager and staff was very pleasant and accommodating. Will definitely be returning.”
“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ One of the best restaurants in Birmingham! The place is very clean, welcoming, and has a warm atmosphere. The food is absolutely delicious – authentic Kurdish dishes full of rich flavors, perfectly cooked, and always fresh. The staff are friendly and provide excellent service, making you feel at home. Highly recommend this restaurant if you want to enjoy real Kurdish food in Birmingham.”
“Delivered on time, excellent quality. No king prawns evident in the biryani, should be just advertised as prawn biryani.”
“Went today for first time for my moms birthday and can't fault it. Wide choice on menu, including Monkfish amongst its many fish curry dishes. Staff were extremely attentive and up for a laugh and joke. We were made to feel very welcome. The prices must be amongst the cheapest around and there is definitely no scrimp on quality. I am puzzled at some of the negative comments I have read, most of them seem to be on take aways. Firstly I learned years ago, if you order a take away from ANYWHERE on a Friday or Saturday be prepared for a long wait and don't expect too much on quality, as the delivery drivers quite often take various at the same time trying to keep up with demand. My advise during busy periods, if you want a Take Away and expect quality, Go and get it. I for one will definitely be back to Kaben again soon.”
“We have just had our first takeaway from Chennai-lounge and was very pleasantly surprised. It was the nicest Induan meal we have had in a long time. Service fast, food piping hot and super tasty. This is definitely our new go to for Indian food.”
“Good food. Attentive and friendly staff. Reasonable prices.”
“Fantastic flavours. Good oprions for different dietary requirement. My wife & I are local and love it here for the broad choice, spotless premises, welcoming staff and truly delicious fresh food. Everything comes hot and not microwaved. They're a polite, honest establishment that makes a truly decent curry. Prices are an absolute bargain also! Good for a cheapie night in or a big family get together- or treat the missus for a dine in.”
“Early diners on a Tuesday evening, so couldn’t really experience the full on atmosphere properly. We did see returning customers greeted with a warm welcome. The professional polite service and wonderful food enabled us to have a lovely time. We had delicious starters & mains with side orders. Really enjoyed our meal & visit. Will definitely come back again. Very well set out car park.”
“My pallet has come across some tasty Indian cuisines from different restaurants, however this place stands out. The food is fresh, really good portion sizes and extremely tasty, while being competitively priced. If you want amazing food, come or order from here or better still, if you have a regular, compare this place. You won’t be disappointed.”
“Best Indian in the world ,food is lovely , lovely people let’s go malik (head chef)”
“Went to the restaurant on Christmas day (22) for their set meal and it was fabulous. They brought out the sizzling 5 starters on a bed of onions. Followed by 7 mains plus a nan bread. The lamb shank just fell apart, it was so tender. And if you had any room left, 4 Indian sweets were next. It was a fabulous meal, filled me up and made my Christmas day. I can thoroughly recommend this restaurant with it's very high standards. Always a nice relaxing atmosphere.”
“Yaadgaar: Worth the Trip from Wolverhampton! Rating: 5/5 Stars I travel from Wolverhampton to Birmingham just to eat Yaadgaar's breakfast – it's that good! Amazing desi breakfast, especially the halwa puri and chana masala. Great service, friendly staff, and fantastic value. Highly recommended! Never disappoints.”
“Dilshad Restaurant, Birmingham – A Timeless Classic First visited Dilshad back in 1979 as students, and it quickly became our go-to spot until we graduated in 1983. Returning yesterday with a large group—over four decades later—was nothing short of brilliant. The food was as delicious as ever, the service genuinely friendly, and the atmosphere full of character. Sam, who now runs the restaurant, is the son of the original owner—and wasn’t even born when we used to eat there! The fact that Dishad is still thriving after 46 years is a testament to its quality, consistency and loyal following. If you're after authentic flavours, warm hospitality, and a slice of Birmingham culinary history, Dilshad is well worth a visit.”
“Beautiful restaurant and beautiful food. We're visiting from Essex so had to try the curry and wasn't disappointed. Exceptional service, great flavour, I had the chicken Tikka korai and it was amazing, best I've ever had. Highly recommend.”
“Ordered 3 super extreme spicy curries! They had to call me to make sure it's what we want and they surely did not disappoint, large portions fully loaded ingredients, meats are very tender, very tasty, and considering the distance is about 4 miles away, surprised the curries were still hot! One of the best Indian takeaways I ever had! Will definitely come back when I visit this part of Birmingham again.”
“A* Always a pleasure to visit Asha’s Birmingham, Food is always superb! Shahan was our waiter for the afternoon and was attentive and very helpful. He was superb in recommending Summer cocktails and I loved my Raspberry Summer mix “Rickshaw Fizz””
“Resently discovered this takeaway. The food is delicious. I will use them from now on. Delivery is good and all the drivers have been really friendly.”
“Absolutely incredible! The attention to detail was impressive, from the table settings to the way the dishes were served. The steak was tender and perfectly seasoned, and the house red wine complemented it beautifully.”
“We booked in advance for a work staff dinner. I have to say the staff were absolutely lovely and charming. Drinks came first, the mocktails are to die for! Starters were so yummy and the mains did not disappoint. We even had dessert and I would give each course 10/10. The staff told us they don’t use any ready made, only fresh and from scratch food including even the spices/masalas. Very authentic food but with a very mild spice level so it can cater for everyone. I highly recommend you visit this establishment if you are in the area and fancy a “curry”.”
