“This was an absolutely wonderful experience. I visited on a weekend and tried the Sunday Trio Main by Chef John, which truly was one of the most satisfying hearty meals I’ve enjoyed. Sue's warm and friendly greeting made the visit even more special, and her lovely conversations added a personal touch. The atmosphere is inviting, and the beautiful location and view genuinely enhance the entire experience, this place has now become one of my top three motorcycle trip destinations. It's a perfect spot for a leisurely ride and a relaxing stop, offering delicious food and some of the most breathtaking views in the region. I highly recommend it.”

“I organised a lunch for 20 people in the private dining room and had a wonderful experience. The staff were brilliant, proactive and quick to response, helping me from the very start with all the logistics and organising. On the day, they styled the room beautifully, service was fantastic and food was amazing. Really tasty seasonal ingredients and great value. All of my guests were so impressed. Thank you to the team, especially Meghan, for all their help!”

“We had our sons first birthday at the kings head on a busy Saturday 1pm for 20 people and a few kids, they were so accommodating and went out their way to make the party perfect. All staff were super helpful and welcoming and Ollie was great. Really recommend this cosy pub for a party or just for drinks.”

“Bit of a surprise as we came here a year or so ago and walked out due to the rude staff. Came back, different staff and...was pleasantly surprised. Food was good, atmosphere fun, and reasonably priced drinks. Came back a couple of days later! New fave bar in town!”

“A crowd of us visited for Sunday lunch and had a great time. Most of us had the Sunday lunch which was enjoyed by us all - tasty and plentiful. The other food ordered was just as good. The girl who served (forget her name unfortunately) us was lovely - friendly and helpful. Only downside was lack of real ales choices. 4 pumps and only 2 in use - and one serving the ubiquitous bland Doom Bar. That said we all had a great time and would definitely return”

“I popped in today for a quick shandy as the weather was very nice and sunny over looking the river ouse its was my first time at The Ark next time I visit i'll have something to eat with my partner so i can't comment on the food at this time! Friendly Staff and nice atmosphere setting outside disabled friendly with ramp for wheelchairs. There is a car park for the Ark but remember to read the car park sign before entering! “Cannot thank the staff and chefs enough! Went here to celebrate my 32nd birthday with my mum and dad, booked a table in the morning, arrived at 6:45 ready for our 7pm booking, was shown to a table straight away, got seated and served in a timely manner, our server was lovely! Very kind and attentive, we all had a Hot, Fresh and delicious meal mum and dad both had steak, cooked perfectly to their request, I had the chefs special hunters chicken and wow! It was INCREDIBLE, we all were absolutely stuffed! And none of us managed to clear our plate! We don't do this very often but we absolutely loved it and have said we will be doing it again soon! Great value for money! And everything was very clean and well laid out! At no point did we feel rushed or a pain to staff and we are all really looking forward to our next visit! Thanks for a great evening!!”

“Went there whilst on a post-chicken nugget high. Normally I make mistakes after eating the little deep fried fellas, but this was not one of those mistakes. Loved it loved it loved it. Very kind to the smaller gentleman with extravagant tastes. Even let me bring in my pre-requisite box of Sunmaid raisins with me. 10/10 would eat nugs there again.”

“Really need to sort out the bar staff. Old blonde or white hair woman always miserable. Always rude. Doesn't like what you put on jukebox only wants what she likes. Killed my mental health suffering daughters confidence by saying rude comments about her singing and music. Me and my daughter have had to quit darts cause of this. Absolutely disgusted.”

“Favourite venue in town. Lovely staff and always have a variety of events on, the Silent Disco is honestly the best night out in Hastings. They also frequently host the Diamond Photo Booth so there are always some fun (and sometimes embarrassing!) photos of your night, 10/10 would recommend”

“Seems friendly enough, but went in on a Saturday afternoon and the horse racing was on at high volume to an audience of old men. Nice enough place but not my sort of pub. Guinness was only £4.40 Edit: Just added a star as I've noticed there are cling-film wrapped egg rolls on the bar. Proper old-school. Edit Nov 23 I really like this place - funny pub singer on a late sunday afternoon. Really friendly.”

“I live 1 minute down the road from curry cottage yet didn’t know about it and I am so annoyed I didn’t find about about it sooner because the food is amazing!! Really well priced curry’s for how amazing they are! If you live near you it’s worth picking up the food as it is cooked so quickly and they give you a free beer or soft drink if you pick up. Couldn’t recommend it more”

I cannot fault anything that we ordered. From the fragrant Rice and Peas, to the Fresh Salad and Coleslaw to the Creamy Mac and Cheese.The chicken was cooked to perfection, very well seasoned and fell off the bone effortlessly. Blown away!!! I have been to many and I mean mannnyyyy restaurants and takeaways that sale Caribbean food. Rarely anyone ever gets the whole menu right. Ollie's is a definite Top Contender in my TOP 5! When I'm in Brighton again I will definitely be eating here again.”

The atmosphere was very intimate and relaxing, the food was delicious (the ox tail stew is fantastic) and not that pricey compared to a lot of tapas places, staff was very friendly, and service was very quick.”
