“Love the sushi and staff are friendly”
“Great variety and prices. There when we needed it”
“Food was out of this world and so was the service. Made our weekend away special”
“excellent experience eating here. reasonable prices, pleasant ambiance. staff friendly & 'on the ball' very swift service. Had the fillet steak with peppercorn sauce, champ & green veg. thank you.”
“I was fortunate to get the opportunity to experience the coffee at basement central and feel compelled to speak as to my experience. I would consider myself rather barista-cly naïve and a novice in matters of coffee, however I’d say my experience at Basement Central has done something to alter that – alter me. I would dare to say that this café, rightly situated in a learning establishment, has made me more learned and edified me in a way that I struggle to express. I would credit the service of staff member Ellie for the profundity of what has become the epoch of my coffee journey. She honoured my order with grace and gusto, I found myself enthralled by what I could see of the alchemical process (in itself a wonderful and delicate conduction that Petrenko could only wish to achieve). Her manner was astounding, she provided a pleasant and yet almost philosophical exchange - indeed I was putting one foot in front of the other - what one could hope for from a Michelin level server. Then of course, the coffee – The taste was divine; rich with notes of caramel – ambrosia in a cardboard cup. Perfection brewed and then placed before me in a university café. My only criticism is I fear I may never be able to experience such a thing from any other establishment or home brewed beverage, not only was I caffeinated but I was healed of fatigue, of worldly stresses. I cannot emphasise enough, the excellency of the culinary happening that Ellie provided to me; I am a heretic having tasted the divine in that drink, a tear may have rolled down my cheek. It is much to my sorrow that I have to disrespect the empyrean nature of this brew by confining its description to a paltry and, certainly for this, lacking system of rating, but I shall say that Ellie has cemented Basement Central as a place for my repeated patronage.”
“Great food, usually busy weekends so expect a little wait”
“I have litterally just finished my burger, and I had to share the news with everyone instantly! This is without a doubt the best burger I have ever eaten, and I’ve eaten probably more than my fair share! I would recommend this place to anyone.”
“I always used to order from JustEat last year but ordered in person for the first time today. The owner is really friendly and nice to speak to! The food is also great quality for great prices. Really good takeaway and has great halal options. Thanks and will see you again soon!”
“I’m not sure what planet these people who left the 1 star reviews are on but this was one of the best Chinese takeaways I’ve eaten at. The chicken chow mein, veggie spring rolls and special fried rice were great, nothing special but definitely got the job done. The real stars were the salt and pepper squid and Szechuan chicken, hands down the best I’ve had. The squid had great texture and balance of seasoning, not to mention the perfectly diced onions and chilli’s(many places give you huge pieces!) The Szechuan chicken easily the best takeaway Szechuan in the city, proper spice level good amount of chilli’s, sauce, perfect sized chicken and veggies and great selection of veggies too. The young lady who served me was really polite, patient and overall nice. Definitely going back!”
“im a japanese food fanatic so i can be pretty picky, but this restaurant is amazing!! i ordered from them on uber eats and they followed my order notes and were quick and reliable. everything i ordered had salmon, and it was great quality. i definitely will order here again :)”

“They kill it every single time ❤❤❤ always amazed at the prices for the quality of the sushi, really nice and unique combinations, my go to from now on!”
“The Asoka has been our favourite Indian restaurant in Hove for many years. We particularly like the speciality dishes. I think we've worked our way through most of the extensive menu and every meal has been great. Highly recommended.”
“The owner is very genuine, and turns out was Born on same-day as me! Very satisfied. Would highly recommend blue cheese sauce burger and garlic mayo. Yummy”
“Best curry house in Brighton. We order here every time we want Indian cuisine. Food is unbelievably good! Always full of flavour and never disappoints. We order directly through their website where the food is better priced as opposed to just eat. Delivery is always quick within an hour and is always hot. I highly recommend the chicken madras, it’s delicious. The aloo gobi is incredible. Real authentic tastes in everything you buy from here. Highly recommend Bhindi’s. If you want bland tasteless curry then order elsewhere”
“(salad mezzo platter) Good size portions, freshly made very tasty. Freshly made lemonade is to die for.!! Will definitely be back.”
“great takeaway! we ordered form here and the prices are good, portions are a good size, and food arrived fairly quickly. the service was lovely - i called ahead before ordering to ask about gluten free options as I have coeliac disease, and they were very helpful in advising me. i would definitely recommend ordering from here”
“Great service and food. 10/10. We know that this place always offers the best Chinese in Brighton. We bring all our friends and family here. Great prices, great service, great taste.”
“Excellent customer service. Not as busy as other Starbucks but that's perfect for me. The staff are wonderful.”
“Very friendly, attentive staff and the restaurant is beautifully decorated. The pizzas were definitely some of the best we’ve had compared to other Pizza express branches in the country.”
“Just been to Weatherspoons at the Marina Brighton. I have to say I was very shocked at how absolutely lovely the whole place was, it's situated over 2 floors with plenty of seating and bars on both floors. It is situated right next to the Marina so you have lovely views of the marina from both floors. Also what impressed me was how very clean and tidy it was, with lovely decor with lots of wood features. large solid wooden staircase. We ordered our food and drink using the Weatherspoons app, which made it so easy. (You can also order at the bar) Our drinks arrived after 5mins and our food took another 5mins. we thought it would have took longer as they were very busy, The food arrived hot and tasted lovely. Great service from the staff. We had 3 main courses. 3 side dishes. 4 beers. 3 desserts it came to just under £20 each which is very good considering when we were last in Brighton we ate in a pub and just had one solitary burger which cost us £13.50 and a beer was £7 and we left hungry. So we'll done Weatherspoons. O and not forgetting the free 4 hour parking which is a massive bonus. Many Thanks guys”
“The best takeaway shop in Brighton. The kebabs are hands down the most flavoursome I have ever had. Great portions, lots of sauce and fresh salad. We have ordered 4 in the space of 2 days, they’re that good. The staff are so polite and go out their way to help get your perfect order. If you’re after some tasty fresh food at an unbelievable price, look no further. Jolly eats is the place to go!”
“Standard fayre for Pizza hut - kids loved it and were happy and full. Not having to wait for food is a blessing with young children and they can get stuck in at the Salad bar. Shout out to Keir too who served us. Helpful, polite and quick service.”
“Booked in for 1 night and paid £350 for a room without breakfast included (wow) (without a balcony) which was such a shame as we’d walked 12 miles to this hotel so we could have a room looking over the beach. The room we actually got was a large well designed room in the roof of the second floor. I went down to ask if we could swap rooms and it was a stern no. They are all booked. Fair enough, slightly moody receptionist. But our evening got exceedingly better as Nathan served us in the restaurant on the veranda and he was such a lovely man. So attentive and actually cared. We had a really lovely 3 course meal with cocktails because he was so good at his job. I actually wanted to eat elsewhere because I didn’t think the lady on reception gave a hoot about our stay. Thankfully we didn’t, the chicken skewers were so good and the fish was moist and fluffy. Really good chef. Cheese board was a delight and the chocolate dessert. Scott enjoyed an old fashion and mojito all really great quality. Nathan made our day by being funny polite and just really good at what he does. Thank you”
“I am quite happy with their burgers, as every time I get a perfect hot and crispy Chicken Royale. The cheese just melts in the mouth and takes the whole food experience to another level. Even their bun is quite soft to it. So, even my kids can enjoy it without any issue biting or eating it. Overall, a good experience.”
“Large portions, great taste and good value for money. No complaints here at all.”
“Great hotel for a long weekend away. Staff are amazing and really friendly. Breakfast was great, everything from a fruit smoothie to a full English. A***”
“Perfect for a quick snack. I'd never had a Korean corn dog before, so I can't comment on authenticity, but it was really nice! I recommend the spicy sauce. Ordering through a machine, simple and efficient, and the man who served us was very nice.”
