“☕ Review: Coffee #1 Coffee #1 has become one of those dependable, quietly brilliant spots that always delivers—whether you’re grabbing a quick flat white between meetings or settling in for a longer session with a laptop or a good book. It strikes that sweet spot between cosy and practical, making it a favourite across Bristol and beyond.”
“It was a lovely sunny afternoon, so I headed to Portishead for a walk around the marina. I decided to go for coffee, my first choice was Mokoko Coffee & Bakery, however though the queue wasn’t too long, there appeared to be a lot of people waiting for their coffee. So I left and headed to Costa, which was a lot less busy. I ordered a Cortado and didn’t have to wait long before it was ready. It was a nice coffee.”
“Great coffee, fresh bread and pastries too. I bought an extra strong Americano coffee to go, a focaccia and some items from the grocery section. All great tasting and quality!”
“Great local fish and chip place with really lovely new owners. These fish and chips are as good as you'll find in the area with excellent homemade mushy peas and tartar sauce. Large child friendly restaurant to eat in or take away. Try them out!”
“Me and my mum enjoyed our afternoon tea here so much yesterday we came back for a sweet treat today too. The food is delicious and the service is excellent too. The dairy free afternoon tea was amazing! I would highly recommend Sweet Little Things!”
“A lovely place to stop and watch the world pass by, just by the abbey and down from the historic plane tree. Great helpings, good tea, and a lovely setting. Priced for tourists, it’s still reasonable to have afternoon tea for two here.”
“Beautiful shop and lovely, helpful staff! I really appreciated their wide range of gluten free products - I just had one of their gluten free chocolate orange friands …. I think possibly the best GF treat I’ve ever had! It is quite pricey but worth it - picked up a rewards card while we were there as I know we’ll be back! And, if you’re interested, a huge Diddly Squat section!”
“Great quality food, friendly and efficient service. I had an avo and egg breakfast baguette, with tea. Very nice.”
“Visited yesterday morning post Park Run and the cafe was heaving with the usual runners and other customers. The two staff who were on duty around 9:30 am, despite being extremely busy were calmly and courteously serving customers despite having to carry out extreme multi-tasking. Always get fine service in this establishment!”
“Perfect as always! Never a complaint regarding Costa as they are outstanding every visit”
“A good place for the great elders. They come here for shopping and spend time chit-chatting with old friends. They also enjoy breakfast and lunch here.”
“This Costa is very nice, clean and spacious. It feels very cosy, especially as they have recently had a makeover. There are plenty of seats available upstairs and down. There are toilets upstairs and downstairs. The servers are friendly and quick to serve. The drinks are made to a good temperature. Staff are always friendly and welcoming.”
“Sausage breakfast roll... seriously needs upgrading (take a look at startbcks... YUMMY) Really horrible and totally inedible. Stone cold too which really didnt help the disgusting sausages. Coffee lovely as always.”
“Catte Nero is a well-regarded coffee shop known for its comfortable atmosphere, friendly staff, and good coffee (especially cappuccinos and hot chocolate). Prices are reasonable, and they offer vegetarian options, breakfast, lunch, and brunch. The cafes are wheelchair accessible an d provide Wi-Fi, with choices for dine-in, takeout, or delivery. Marcus, one of the workers, was very good . JASRAJ”
“Very lovely people who serve and create amazing food. The chillie with the jacket potato is luxurious and filled me up for my plane journey. Calming music. Would definitely come back here anytime before my plane.”
“Good size cafe Nero in the city centre of Bristol. Indoor and outdoor seating area. Plenty of seating spaces indoor. The coffee shop is fully stocked and plenty of options to drink and eat from. During the visit the place was not very busy and it was easy to find seating. Over all better than normal Nero coffee shops and I would be back if I visited the area. Visit was done during the evening hours so it could explain why it was slightly quiet.”
“Wonderful staff. Lovely service. Excellent coffee. Can’t recommend this place enough and we now come every week. Come for the coffee, stay for the people.”
“Been fortunate to have chosen this as my go 2 spot for beverages, being alien to Bristol, was welcomed by the Queenz that run the place, two hard working, charming ladies; Fran, Suzanna, due to their warm hospitality have found myself back!, so saddened to hear about Frans leaving as she is a true asset to any place she goes!, wanted to show some love for the love I received, many thanks ;)”
“The barista who helped me showed great patience and attention to detail. Even though things were clearly busy and challenging, he stayed calm, polite, and focused on getting everything right. I really appreciated his effort.”
“I recently visited Costa Coffee and had a genuinely pleasant experience. The desserts I tried were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Each bite tasted like it had been carefully made, and I appreciated the balance of sweetness. What really stood out for me was the cold watermelon and strawberry drink—it was refreshing, light, and had just the right amount of fruitiness. Perfect for a warm day, it exceeded my expectations and felt like a real summer treat. The atmosphere of the café was also impressive. It was clean, well-lit, and had a relaxed vibe that made it easy to unwind. The seating was comfortable, and the overall ambiance was ideal for either catching up with friends or enjoying some quiet time alone. The staff were polite and welcoming, which added to the positive impression. I think Costa does a great job of combining quality products with a pleasant environment. It’s not just about grabbing a quick coffee—it’s a place where you can sit back, enjoy your drink, and take a break from the rush. I’ll definitely be returning soon, especially for that watermelon-strawberry cooler and another round of their delicious desserts!”
“Top breakfast, top service, quickly served. Lovely breakfast. I also had a lovely mug to tea to top it off. Perfecto Keep up the good work. Had the medium breakfast this time. Absolutely glorious. Nice cup of tea as well ( it would be nice to have the option of a pot ). Can't wait til my next visit.”
“Friendly, relaxed cafe with nice family vibes - we stopped for some drinks and had a great time. Our littlun enjoyed the big box of toys and babyccino with marshmallows, and the guide dogs collection (plastic dog!). Can't vouch for the food, but would recommend a visit :)”
“I've been to this grounded countless times in the five years I've lived nearby, and it's always been great. The staff are lovely, really friendly and welcoming. The coffee is great, and a long time favourite dish of mine is the pancakes and bacon. Today was my first time having a burger, and it was super tasty. This was the first time I've had onion rings that I actually liked! The chips were delicious, tasted like crisps! All in all, very good, much friendly, sometimes doggos. 10/10 I will be going again.”
“We stayed overnight and loved it. The room was really comfortable and had a nice view over the river. The pub serves really good food and the staff are really friendly. It is also dog friendly which was great as we had our pup with us. Will definitely stay here again!”
“I've been in here a quite few times, and I really enjoyed the mango sunrise drink. It's very refreshing. Food is good very tasty, with lots of places to sit down or a few seating areas outside on a nice sunny day. Definitely recommend popping in and having lunch it's really lovely. Definitely going back to try other food and drinks.”
“Lovely garden centre at the top end of Bath with fair prices too. Lots of choice and free advice from the friendly staff, worth signing up for the extras you get at checkout ! Big car park down the hill so don't think it's full when pulling into the entrance.”
“First visit today, it was very good. Very clean, friendly staff, fun disco area. We had a great time.”
“Very good. During Summer months, one can sit outside on tables and chairs in the Precinct and have a cake & cup of tea. One can buy Bread, cakes, of various kinds of pies. One only comment. Just wish one could purchase various kinds of bread, rather than sort. In saying this, the quality is fresh & pleasant to eat.”
“A quick stop and we'll deserved treat! Bit of a queue, but staff are hard and fast working and order was correct. I do like this branch.”
