“I was attending for a two yearly check up, which they contacted me about. Found it very easy to use their online booking system to book a slot that suited me. I arrived early for my appointment and was seen early. I found everyone to be friendly and helpful. Each test was explained by the optometrist and they answered my questions. I selected a new pair of glasses and they were ready for collection a week later. Been using Specsavers for 20 years and have always received excellent service.”

“Stayed here for 3 night from the 28th of July 2025, was made welcome from a lovely guy called CHRIS who assigned us room 103. I've stayed in many 5* hotels in America, Asia and Europe, and although this was a budget hotel CHRIS was by far the best front of house staff we ever encountered. Throughout our stay CHRIS was so helpful for any information we required and couldn't help us enough. We came as guests and left as friends. Thanks CHRIS.”

“Had lovely room but there'd been a leak so moved to a suite. Very good stay. I wasn't well, the maids left me peace. Refrigerator was useful so I was able to keep cold water and a sandwich fresh. Only negative there's no light without getting out of the bed in the sitting room. Helpful staff. Free parking. Clean, quiet, 8 minute walk to the Bay.”

“The location is perfect, as it’s a short walk to all the city center attractions and to Cardiff Queen Street station. The room is comfortable and complete with all the amenities you may need. But what really stands out is the staff. All super nice and helpful. Special praise to Marina, whose amazing service provided an exceptional stay!”

“We booked the room for 4 days. Breakfast was quite good. It has other meal deals also. Room was comfortable & bus stations is just across the road. Different buses including sightseeing stop here. Check the timmings & dates for sightseeing bus. A halal buffet resturant..buffet tonight ...( 18 pound ) with more than 50 items ,is 100 meters away in red dragon mall, with a cinema..games for kids & bowling alley.”

“I called into the HiQ tyre garage on Penarth Rd, Cardiff yesterday as I had a screw or nail lodged in one of my car tyres. The manager promptly inspected my car, removed the screw in 2 minutes and didnt charge me a fee for his time as the tyre didnt need a plug fitted. Great service and courtesy...thanks to HiQ...Stephen P.”

“Fantastic experience with this company. We called in on the off-chance as we were passing. The lady who came to speak to us was really helpful and knowledgeable. We were so impressed we soon decided to place an order for the porcelain tiles we had seen on display. We have now had the tiles fitted and we are absolutely delighted with the outcome. Everyone who has seen them are really impressed. I would have no hesitation in recommending this company”

“Dan was very knowledgeable about the various items I showed an interest in and also offered tea, which was very welcome after a long walk. He checked in occasionally while I was browsing, but wasn't pushy at all. Although much of the sofa stock was bigger, depth-wise, than I needed, I found a recliner chair that was ideal and look forward to it arriving in due course. Dan also demonstrated the Fama sofa options on the screen, which was very interesting.”

“What a great restaurant. Been to the India Gate many times over the years I've lived around the area. Amazing quality Indian food that is surprisingly well priced. Recently I had the chicken tikka masala classic, with onion bhaji starter. Both amazing, sauce that came with the Bhaji was unusual but so so good. Table gets a serving of poppadoms that comes with delicious sauces and toppings Service staff are smartly dressed and efficient. Didn't have to wait for anything despite every table in the place being full. Atmosphere is cosy but professional. Only downside is you may need to book a table because they are always so busy due to their consistent quality through the years.”

“We went here as we was totally depressed walking towards The New Theatre with the many chain restaurant options. No thanks. We food this little gem right at the end just across the road from the theatre. Very warm welcome sat down straight away to a table for two. Busy, lively and fun. Service was excellent, fast and attentive. Food was quick to come out but not rushed. Cracking food all round. I personally felt the starters was a bit pricey but was delicious so... Would definitely go again. Clean and tidy through out quick to take plates or empty bottles etc. Excellent meal all round.”

“10/10!! Just want to say a massive thank you, from the bottom of our hearts to all the staff that was working on Tuesday 4th February! My cat was hit by a car ( we think) and I turned up such a mess, Hannah took my cat straight away and checked her over, the receptionists were absaloutly golden, so compassionate. They had answers and solutions straight away! They kept me updated constantly, offered and explained everything to me and now My little warrior is home on the mend! I can't recommend or thank them enough!”

“Marvelous hotel in central location with superbly appointed rooms and bathrooms. Well stocked and spacious bar, excellent dining room and friendly, helpful staff. Highly recommended but if traveling by car the hotel car park quite tight to get in and out of and is expensive.”

“Had a pleasant 2 night stay here for the Oasis gig in Cardiff. The lady at reception on the day was so pleasant and friendly when we checked in. Rooms were comfy & airy for the hot July weather. I had left items behind in the hotel when we checked out, both Rachel & Georgia went above and beyond communicating via email about my lost items and posted them out to me again. The customer service was excellent and for that alone I would recommend this hotel. Thanks guys!”

“I was on my way to Somerset for my mother’s funeral. I got a low pressure warning so tried to take off the valve caps to check but could not remove the caps. Went to Halfords for help and Jay was able to spray it and remove the cap and inflate the tyre to correct psi. So grateful, took 5 minutes. He was so polite and I was able to make my way down the M4 and M5 knowing my tyre was good. Thank you Jay you saved my day.”

“It's a beautiful clean shop. I am disabled I needed a trolley for standing and walking around the store, as I cannot walk on crutches and carry a basket. I took a "huge trolly" that's all that's there. Had about 14- bags items. I got to cashier. I put it all on belt, my back was in agony dipping in the "huge" trolly. The lady was lovely, she packed all my goods. Put it in the trolly. I left. Omydays the pavement is a slope the trolly took off into the gutter. With me hanging on. I pushed it across the road to put shopping in car,, wheeled trolly back.no ramp. I had to lift and pull it up the curb.Put it inside the store where it belonged. To collect my £1- then doors shut I couldn't walk out. I was told to walk around the store to exit!!! This is the entrance door!. I said,I cannot walk that distance without extra aid, "hence a trolly". It wasn't worth the pain for £1- So as I'm talking, someone came in. Then I jumped out. I couldn't go back there again on my own ever. If anyone says well you should should have left the trolly in the road? The situation isn't wide enough I'd have had to leave it behind someone's car. I certainly wouldn't want that. Wind may blow it and dent somones car. So no it had to go back!!!!! Don't know about me though, shame beautiful store well priced too.”

“Excellent customer service Visited to buy a new battery for my wife’s car. Price was reasonable (non stop-start around £66) and the fitting charge was explained clearly. Cameron served me and he was polite, helpful and gave good advice — made sure I was getting the right battery and that it was due to be changed anyway. Cameron is a credit to this Halfords.”
