“My wife and I had the absolute pleasure of staying at The Coal Exchange on the 8th of August 2025, and we honestly can’t speak highly enough of the entire experience. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and professionalism. A big thank you to Jamie on reception, who was incredibly friendly and polite – he made us feel instantly welcome and set the tone for a fantastic stay. Our room was stunning – beautifully decorated, spacious, and spotlessly clean. The highlight was definitely the spa bath in the room, which added a luxurious and relaxing touch to our evening. It was the perfect way to unwind. We also had the chance to dine at the hotel’s restaurant, and the food was nothing short of amazing. Every dish was full of flavour and beautifully presented. Special mention goes to restaurant managers Haley and Sam T, who were both outstanding – attentive, professional, and clearly passionate about delivering a great dining experience. All in all, The Coal Exchange exceeded our expectations in every way. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!”

“Spot on location. Hotel was spotless inside and out. Beautiful kept garden at the back of property. We stayed in room 8 sea veiw room at the top. Views were amazing. Room was very clean and well equipped, bathroom was stunning. I highly recommend a stay. Plenty of restaurants in area. Brilliant walks.”

“Fantastic choice of gin displayed prettily. Bar person was knowledgeable about the flavours and found my friend and I gins we hadn't tried before but loved. Lovely glasses and garnish with the drinks. Chilled out vibe when we went.”

“Lovely hotel over looking the river Severn, the staff are welcoming and we even got offered a lift to the station from the owner. We stayed here as was far cheaper than Cardiff with Ed Sheeran in concert on and only a 15 minute train trip to the city centre. Yes we would definitely stay here again.”

“Recently stayed here for a weekend celebration. There were 9 of us in total. The hotel was in a great location. Extremely clean. Breakfast was great with plenty of choice. The staff were incredible. They went above and beyond to accommodate us. Thank you so much.”

“I like this hotel. The staff I encountered were friendly and helpful and, because I like dogs, I enjoyed seeing loads of them everywhere. Breakfast was good quality and plentiful. It’s true that the place is looking a little tired in places but it’s excellent value.”

“Absolutely outstanding service from John and Steven! From the moment we got there they were extremely accommodating. My moms disabled and I was a little apprehensive booking this property due to the accessibility but they went above and beyond to help my mom and make her comfortable. They are extremely welcoming, and the hotel was very homely. The views were amazing and the breakfast was top notch. Highly recommend staying here and we will be back very soon!”

“Warm room, amazing view of the sea. Restaurant downstairs, I booked via booking dot com, received 20% discount on the restaurant below. It is within a few minutes of the pier and dozens of arcades and food places, restaurants, pubs. I initially booked this to go on a trip to the Island nearby but was cancelled due to the weather. Still had a lovely time in the area.”

“Stayed over 1 night as visiting Cwmbran. Lovely double bedroom Coffee/hot chocolate and tea available. Bathroom to a standard. If you add breakfast, dining area is very good. Only let down was that you had to have waitress service for hot drinks and cups were very small. Maybe provide a larger cup !!! Self service on break buffet. Cold drinks , juices, fruit, toast and jam available. It is best to ask for veggie sausages if you are veggie before breakfast starts, as not cooked in buffet selection.”

“Classic hotel. So much more interesting and comfortable than a premier Inn or an ibis and it was cheaper! The staff were friendly and helpful the room had high ceilings and felt classic with some art deco features.”

“The Heath Pub is an old-fashioned pub in the cathays area in Cardiff. It’s a classic pub with daily activities. Ambience: The pub is located by the road on a good spot beyond the crwys road, not very far from the University Hospital of Wales. The pub itself is a huge one - divided into 3 areas including an outdoor beer garden. One area is dedicated for the daily events and the other one for gaming and stuffs. The pub has an old- fashioned classic outlook, with classy wooden furniture and a fireplace. It also has a bunch of TVs installed at every corner where they screen sports every time something is on. Activities - - Sundays - Sunday roast for lunch, Dan’s Big Quiz at nights every week (hosted by Dan at 8:30 PM onwards every Sunday is probably one of the best pub quizzes in town, with price money at stake for the winners) - Open mic nights on Tuesdays - Karaoke on Wednesday nights - Games night on Thursdays Live music on Fridays & Saturdays They host these events amazingly well every week, and there are regular patrons who religiously attend them every week. Food: Heath Pub offers a good selection of alcohol, cocktails, craft beer including the Brains - bitter and gold. They also serve food and snacks. Service: The bartenders and friendly and fun, and service has always been quick in serving. They also love to chat with the customers and make the atmosphere look friendly. Drinks Menu options ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Decor ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ambiance ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Value for money ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My verdict: Not the liveliest pub around, but definitely has something in it to attract customers and glue them as regular patrons. Have rarely seen it being crowded except during the events at nights. Would recommend attending the events there.”

“Great location and easy to find parking. The staff here are lovely and attentive and we were made up to be 'guests of the day' Room was clean and bedsheets spotless, teabags do need to be changed to a decent brand though. Some parts of the hotel were tired and in need of repair such as leaking roof and broken lift, however the breakfast was excellent and our experience was amazing. I definitely will choose The Hilton again to stay during our next rugby match and what an honour to meet the Japan team. Thanks all you made me and my boys so happy x”

“I spent one night with a friend at Zip at the end of September 2025. We paid £26 for a twin room. The room was spotless, the facilities were nice, but the staff truly made the difference. From check-in to check-out, I felt cared for much better than in many other hotels. A special thanks to Mell for her kindness and valuable support at breakfast she really set the right mood for my day. It was unexpectedly surprising to find such kind and genuine people in a low-cost hotel.”

“There was Friendly and helpful staff on shift. Easy check in/out via the phone . Room was clean and comfortable. Stayed for 2 nights bins were emptied, fresh towels given. Only down fall was there was no water bottles replaced for the 2nd day. Good price when booked with black Friday sale. Overall pleased with our stay, we will be back.”

“The hotel is the best location ever! It’s in the city center, a few minutes from the train and bus stations, and close to all the main attractions. The staff was very friendly and nice, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The price is also very good, I recommend booking directly through them as it’s cheaper than doing so through other platforms! Will definitely stay there again!!”

“This is a lovely oasis in a very busy city center. It is quiet, elegant, and well appointed. Staff is wonderful. We were on holiday when a family emergency forced us to have to extend our stay. The hotel extended our stay, daily, and made sure to keep us in the same room. They provided all amenities needed while taking care not to disturb so we could sleep in between hospital visits. They made a difficult situation so much easier for us. Gracious hospitality at its finest. From management to housekeeping to front desk. Excellent. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.”

“Marvelous hotel in central location with superbly appointed rooms and bathrooms. Well stocked and spacious bar, excellent dining room and friendly, helpful staff. Highly recommended but if traveling by car the hotel car park quite tight to get in and out of and is expensive.”

“The hotel is old and very cooky. The decor is random and old fashioned. It has wonderfully narrow corridors and massively high ceilings. The hotel is far from modern but it's absolutely charming and I loved it. The staff were wonderful and the location was great. Would stay again.”

“Had a pleasant 2 night stay here for the Oasis gig in Cardiff. The lady at reception on the day was so pleasant and friendly when we checked in. Rooms were comfy & airy for the hot July weather. I had left items behind in the hotel when we checked out, both Rachel & Georgia went above and beyond communicating via email about my lost items and posted them out to me again. The customer service was excellent and for that alone I would recommend this hotel. Thanks guys!”

“I travel a lot for work and have stopped in premier inns all around the country I have to say the service from staff was amazing, extremely friendly and attentive. The on site restaurant was great, you could tell the staff where aware and communicated back to the kitchen when to serve the next dish so you wasn't waiting long. Food was hot and freshly cooked, it really was the best premier inn I've stopped at for this couldn't fault staff and food that came out Great room (stopped in premier plus) some minor marks and wear to room but it's to be expected from a busy hotel, can't fault it today be honest Thank you for the great stay”

“My family and I stopped at the restaurant for drinks and food. This is a really nice place and the food was really nice. They have a good choice of drinks to choose from, and they had Murphy stout on draught. There is plenty of seating inside and out. The staff were really nice and friendly.”
