“This my secret place when I need coffee after 6 PM :)”
“The staff were absolutely lovely and the food was fantastic!”
“Amazing home made sandwiches, cheese scones and broccoli soup. Silvia is a very talented baker and cook. Wish we could have tried all the tray bakes and cakes too. Looked delicious. Really lovely setting in Vogrie Park. Well worth a visit. Dogs very welcome also. Thank you Silvia for making us so welcome!”
“A wonderful guesthouse in Edinburgh: They literally make you feel at home (not just because you have to do the dishes). They give you a key to the house so you can come and go as you please. Enjoy a traditional Scottish breakfast. I highly recommend the guesthouse for the excellent service, as it seems to be run by the owners. Clean rooms with everything you need. If you want something 'good, nice, and cheap,' this is a great option. Just a few meters away, you can wait for the bus that takes you to the center of Edinburgh (museums, galleries, the castle, The Whisky Experience). For economists, it's within walking distance of Adam Smith's grave and much more.”
“Brilliant, great coffee and staff! A wee break whilst doing some Christmas shopping :)”
“We stopped in here shortly before a tour we booked and it was super warm and cozy (a welcome relief from the cool, rainy Scottish weather). I ordered a luxury hot chocolate with whip and it was AMAZING. They use a dark chocolate recipe and it was to die for. Unfortunately, that was the only menu item I tried, but their pastries and coffees being served to other patrons looked good as well.”
“Easy to get a car parking space, Then straight in do your shopping, Use a self help checkout or get a friendly assistant checkout operator Has plenty of fresh fruit, but not a lot of choice in the green vegetable department. Staff are really friendly and very helpful.”
“Great service! Showed up just before 5pm and they were closing down. They were super helpful and made us some coffees even when they didn’t need to. Really appreciated”
“We loved our stay here mainly because the place was very close to the city center and it was quite practical. We only spent time here to sleep in the evenings. The place was clean and tidy with enough amenities. The room was rather small to accommodate 3 double beds but we knew this ahead of time so can't argue about it. The only thing I would recommend is having air conditioning in the room. The best thing about the place is its affordability and walkability to main attractions in the city.”
“Shame about the bad reviews. Me and my partner really enjoyed it and it's the best cafe we have been to for any zoo's we have visited. My partner ordered a Bacon Roll - it was cooked fresh and was £3 which we thought was a good price. I had Scone which had butter and TipTree Jam, I was given it on a plate in a bag which was great as I could then choose when to have to during the day without it making a mess. There were Plain scones and fruit scones which was great as I prefer plain. This was just under £3 and the scone was a good size. Ordered a drink as well. We had around a 5 - 8 minute wait which we didn't mind at all especially as they were so busy. Lots of choices and would go back!”
“One of the best dining experiences I’ve had! The food was delicious and full of flavor, but what truly made it special was the lovely lady ( Maryam) running the place. She was incredibly kind, warm, and welcoming. You can feel the love in both the service and the food. Highly recommended — will definitely come back”
