“Popped into Tanifiki today and loved it. The coffee was spot on, and the banana cake was honestly unreal. Took everything down to the beach and it made the perfect little break. Friendly team, great vibe. Already looking forward to my next visit!”
“Small table only just accommodated the biggest and by far the best cinnamon bun I've ever tasted.”
“A lovely place to have a snack or even some warm soup on a cold rainy day! The atmosphere is simply enchanting, sweet yet simple decorum with a glaze of the best jazz classics, it feels like you’re in your own home but with better views. Highly recommend trying out their sweets, as they collaborate with small bakeries and are not outrageously sweet.”
“Great flavoursome coffee with a few pastry and sweet options. Tons of seating, internet/WiFi available so can use your laptop on most tables. Very friendly staff and stylish indoor decor with lots of light. Would go for another coffee soon!”
“Really nice/friendly wee place to get a quick bite, I can highly recommend their spinach and feta pastry (like a spanokopita but not as dry/flaky - much softer/denser) - absolutely delicious & I will 100% be back for another one very soon (can confirm it works very well heating it up in the air fryer guys!)”
“Ten years ago, my family and I stopped by on a whim while visiting Rosslyn Chapel. We were wowed by the food and have been talking about it ever since. On this recent trip to Scotland, we purpose planned our visit to this gem of a restaurant. The ambiance is wonderful, the food is delicious and it feels like home. You will not be disappointed. I had the steak pie, which had large and tender chunks of beef and a fantastic puff pastry on top. My wife had the fish & chips which was flakey and so yummy. Both came with French Fries (chips) and a veg. The food was as good as we remembered and we’ll be coming back the next time we’re here.”
“Unexpectedly, this was hands down the best sandwich we had on our 2 week trip! Ham and Cheese Ciabatta. The bread was perfectly fresh and the cheese was the right amount and had great stretch to it. Delicious!”
“Unbelievable. Here this tiny little beach restaurant prepared an amazing sandwich. Not just any sandwich. Chipotle chicken ciabatta. Made with chicken from a local butcher.crispy bacon, tomato, red onion, spinach, with chipotle mayo. The amazing chef makes it in front of you on portobello beach boardwalk. Sat at a table on the boardwalk looking at the North Sea.amazing bus #26 from old or new town to Portobello beach.”
“Lovely cafe inside the Eden Locke Hotel. There is great service and a good selection of both drinks and breakfast. We tried the cream cheese bagel and cheese and Serrano ham croissant and both of them where really good. Both of us hade the orange juice and its was good, we like that it were served with ice. The smoothie of the day was a tropical one and it was also great. Friendly staff and fast service. The only negative is that sometimes it can be hard to find a table.”
“The pictures say it all. Everything you could want from a cafe for an excellent price!”
“Went very early in the morning, waited in line for about 15 minutes before being able to go into the store and order. The cafe itself is very small and has limited indoor seating. When weather permits they put out a couple outdoor benches with tables for more seating. I got the plum and cardamom pastry and it was SO YUMMY! It was not too sweet had good flavor and very flaky. I appreciated them giving it to me on a paper plate inside the pastry bag for to-go orders as it would've been a little messier to eat without it. The coffee options were more on the classic side, I ordered a cappuccino and it was okay, not anything too exciting. The pastries is what I would go for! Definitely worth the wait, to avoid lines go closest to opening time as possible!”
“Great park and good party venue with soft play”
“Amazing little cafe, tha pancakes and burgers were delicious. Beautiful friendly welcoming atmosphere and attentive generous staff. If we are up in Livingston again will definitely be coming!”
“So happy we found this lovely little village cafe! Fantastic breakfast and coffee all served by the friendly cafe owner.”
“Beautiful cottage, many bedrooms, decor is great. Very remote on the castle grounds.”
“Nice to find this local coffee bean roaster. Have previously bought from many other places but this coffee is now my favourite. Frequent roasting of small batches means you can get the benefit of freshly roasted beans more often. If you’re lucky, the friendly owner will just be doing a batch of your favourite roast, so buy a coffee from the cafe next door and go for a walk around the Meadows until your roast is ready. Then take it home and have another coffee.”
“Great coffee, scones and cake. Didn't try the sandwiches or savoury options, but they smelled great too. Sure to become a regular stop. Dog friendly, so be aware if you have anyone who might be nervous (but careful owners so all was well).”
“best shop there is, customer service is always amazing and the workers are always trying to help out the community in anyway they can, thank you”
“Went here for dinner and was not disappointed.... there were 3 of us and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Steak and Ale pie was beautiful, full of tasty, tender chunks of meat , l had the cheeseburger which was one of the tastiest burgers l have ever had, the other person in our party had the Italian chicken.... also very well cooked and tasty... attentive staff but not overly so and reasonably priced. And of course you have the view of the bridges... we were there at night time so they were lit up making it more special... l would definitely recommend this place and will most certainly return one day...”
“We arrived at the torfin earlier than expected and the owner lindsey was so accommodating, the check in was smooth and seamless. The room is very stylish and cozy, but the best part was the soothing, most relaxing and roomy rainfall shower!! We ate dinner at the restaurant here, the croquettes and corn ribs are to die for we ordered 3 rounds. The fish and chips and pan seared sea bass was delicious! Katie our server made sure to check on us and provided great service! Delicious food, friendly staff, totally recommend!”
“Very tasty scone and great Americano as well. Nice quiet cafe to sit down and enjoy a beverage and baked treat.”
“Great aesthetic, combining bright and cheery with Edinburgh’s atmospheric stonework. Okay coffee, although a little small for my liking. Super friendly staff.”
“Great specialty coffee shop. Brewing pour overs, and espresso, as well as interesting matcha and cold brew drinks. The affogato was so creamy and delicious and the pastries have a stranglehold on my psyche. The space itself is gorgeous and relatively spacious. Definitely a do not miss for the coffee lovers and snobs moving through Edinburgh. All their coffees are also served with cute info cards and it's just a whole vibe”
“Ordered flat white it was to strong for me I might order a latte next time. The barista was so nice and friendly I showed he a picture of a bear drown on coffee and asked if she can draw one for me and she did , it looked so good. The place is so beautiful loved the vibes . And it’s also a dog friendly coffee shop so you are allowed to bring your dog with you.”
“I visited this cafe for the first time today because I had to do a school project about small business. I was very impressed. The staff was all very friendly. The young woman who recently became a supervisor was especially nice (unfortunately, I didn't ask her name). She kindly answered all my questions. She also treated me to a delicious hot chocolate. I'm glad I chose this place for my project.”
“Food was very fresh and delicious. Atmosphere, that felt very much authentic. Lovely Italian music, with a bonus of all the staff singing in Italian- you’ll think you’re in Italy. Staff was very friendly and always smiling too. Thank you for a lovely dinner.”
“Fantastic cafe serving great breakfasts and lovely coffee. Also a great selection of home baked foods and some exceptionally good deli offerings. Often quite busy so best to pop in if passing when quiet but wonderful service - a must visit when in the area!”
“Great wee takeaway. Coffee is lovely. Had a panini then couldn't resist their cake too. For such a small place, there's a lot of choice. Staff were lovely too and very efficient. Really reasonable prices.”
“Elegant charming and friendly. This restaurant was such a great find the food was delicious and the staff are just the nicest people you could ask for. Credit to them and to the company well done all of you. We will return.”
“Great pleasure for a meal or a snack. Very helpful staff and good menu. We had pancakes they were large and filling. The only think not to sure about wooden bench seats not to comfy they do have some more comfy seating if you book”
