“With some mixed reviews I wasn’t sure what to expect at Kildonan, but I was pleasantly surprised. Myself and a family member enjoyed a beautiful 3-night stay in this hotel, which truly has a homely vibe. With great transport links from the city centre we arrived within 20 minutes. Hamza greeted us warmly on arrival, helped us check in, and kindly showed us to our room, which was quietly situated away from the main house. The grounds were well-kept, and our room overlooked a quaint little garden. Despite ample parking nearby, it remained a peaceful spot. The room was modern yet cozy, with thoughtful touches such as bottled water, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and cookies. A flat-screen TV, plenty of storage, and a bath all added to the comfort. Whenever we needed assistance, receptionists were just a phone call away and always dealt with queries professionally. Housekeeping staff were cheerful, asking daily if we wanted our room cleaned or snacks replenished. Ricardo at the main desk was another highlight — friendly, humorous, and professional, he made us feel right at home. On our last day, with a late train to catch, the hotel kindly stored our luggage. When we returned, a lovely receptionist even welcomed us to enjoy some tea before heading off, which was a thoughtful touch. The only downside was accessibility: stairs are unavoidable in most areas, and although some ground-level rooms exist, they are limited. This could be a challenge for less mobile guests. Overall, Kildonan was welcoming, comfortable, and full of friendly faces. I would happily return and recommend it for a relaxing stay.”

“I was there in 1999 & 2001 with my family, we were really happy being there. Small but confortable rooms , well done and delicious Scottish breakfast included.. I hope for July 2023 it will be available to receive me and 2 friends.. it will be an awesome experience and grateful MEMORIES .”

“Booked a 4 year old’s party here and was impressed with everything. Excellent staff who were great with the kids, they were on top of allergy requirements and they have a good softplay setup. Let us use our own playlist for the birthday party which the kids loved. Can see why this is so popular for birthday parties in the area. Will be back with the kids some time soon”

“I have been using Lasswade centre regularly for a few years now and I really enjoy it. The reception staff are lovely. Michelle’s aqua classes, step classes and weights classes are amazing. After years of failing at several exercises I’ve come to realise it’s not the class, it’s the instructor that makes all the difference and Michelle is amazing. She is encouraging, real and motivating, knowing the perfect balance when to give a gentle push to do better and giving praise when you get it right. Her sense of humour and her energy never fails to make us all smile. She provides a relaxed, fun and safe environment to work out in and makes us all feel included and part of her team. There is always good banter that even some lifeguards and members of the public can’t help but join in as they pass. Her classes are fun and extremely rewarding. As a bonus the gym is getting an upgrade this winter which is great!”

“A truly wonderful experience at A&E. The care I received was exceptional and incredibly fast. The doctor was kind, compassionate, and truly brought me back on my feet when I had already lost hope that anything could help. The nurses were absolutely amazing — gentle, caring, and so supportive throughout my whole stay. From the moment I walked in, everything was handled with care and efficiency. Special thanks to Karen at reception, who was so helpful and reassuring. I’m deeply grateful to the entire A&E team. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

“Booked this hotel very last minute after staying in what was the worst hotel I've ever visited. Happy with the price which although is expensive, isn't that bad for Edinburgh. The hotel is surrounded by bars and restaurants but I didn't hear any of this from my room (I was on the fourth floor). The reception staff were polite and informative, giving me the details I needed for my stay and informing me where the room was. Unlike other boutique hotels in Edinburgh I've stayed at there is a lift (elevator for our American friends). The entire hotel is clean and fresh wish lush carpets (makes me assume was recently upgraded). My room was very generous, high ceilings and a very comfortable bed. There is an iron and ironing board, kettle with tea and coffee etc. (as you would expect). I would very happily stay here again”

A dedicated professional, David goes above and beyond to ensure all patients receive consistently excellent service from the entire Chong Kwan team. I can vouch for that as my children have received fantastic care from Brian for more than 20 years. I must also add that David's work on my teeth was raved about by the Lecturer in Restorative Dentistry in Dundee Dental School. He couldn't believe how fantastic the workmanship was. To get such glowing praise from a leader in the field proves what an artist David is.”

“Staff are friendly and helpful. The shop is well stocked covering most items. The bread is fresh with deliveries every morning supplying rolls croissants etc. The shop during a school week around lunch time gets very busy with school pupils coming up from Liberton high school.”

“We are looking at kitchens as part of a house renovation. This branch is very small because the business is pitched at trade customers, not retail. However, the displays that were there were fine, and the gentleman who helped us was very polite and knowledgeable.”

“We had a wonderful stay here at The Haymarket and Lairg Hotel. Friendly and informative staff. Our stay was out of season so it was lovely and peaceful which is what we wanted. There was a little hiccup with another guest but after a quick phone call to reception, the manager dealt with the issue quickly and personally and gave us the reassurance we needed. Breakfast was served quickly and fresh. Nice selection of cooked and continental items. Our en suit room was clean and tidy. It was equipped with essentials including an iron and a hairdryer and plenty of storage for our luggage. We also had a brochure detailing the many sights and attractions in and around Edinburgh in our room. We would 100% stay here again and may do so in the near future and bring our children with us. Thank you for a wonderful stay.”

“My guy Felix 10 out of 10 cinema hospitality. Was extremely helpful with all of our very complicated requirements and due to a lack of stock provided us with more than sufficient compensation in terms of popcorn and nachos this man was so helpful and eager to progress his own personal development on the tills by figuring out how to do the split payment and our extreme demands and overall very friendly and cool guy he was very open and honest about his experience of dealing with tills and just really took away any grievances we may have over a lack of stock with his overwhelmingly friendly service 100% would recommend give this man a medal and a raise. Well done dude!”

“Brilliant lunch. The lovely new family that have taken this over have found a great chef and the food was tremendous. The restaurant has been brilliantly renovated and they told us about more plans in the near future. This place is finally reaching its potential as a proper quality Scottish gastro pub.”
