“We had a lovely Scottish experience with our tour group at Hermann’s restaurant in Sterling. Our guide, a bagpiper from Sterling castle piped us down from the castle to the old town restaurant and we all came inside. He told us stories, played the bagpipes and we had a wonderful meal in the comfortable restaurant. Our Piper presented the haggis, which was absolutely delicious, and addressed the proud haggis with the famous Robbie Burns poem. A Scottish flag waved in the breeze from the open window. It was a lovely experience and as Scottish as you can get in an Austrian restaurant!”

“This is both the best buffet I've ever eaten at and the best chinese buffet too. This is every different chinese food item I have ever had that I like (with one exception) all in one place. Everything was fresh, delicious and nicely presented. It was expensive but for the range you get, it was well worth it. It even had some quite quirky bits like popcorn, steamed sweet buns and siu mai. I'll definitely come back here if I come to Kilmarnock. Also the addition of pizza and pasta which would have meant we could have come with our fussy daughter when she was small.”

Ambience: depends on time .. weekdays are quiet .. Weekends, with a lot more footfall it's a buzz with happy vibes all around. So expect noise. “Tried Polski Kebab after finding an online review by chance. Place doesn't look anything special but the food certainly was. Delicious chicken & lamb kebab in a crisp bun with garlic sauce. Portion size was amazing so go with a big appetite. Staff couldn't be any nicer and very helpful. Biggest surprise was no grease at the bottom of the kebab like you get in other places.”

“We came to silverburn in the hopes of coming to Doner Haus as the one in Glasgow city centre has closed. We were apprehensive after seeing that the company has rebranded, but we are very pleasantly surprised. The menu is quite different to the original Haus’, but the food is absolutely brilliant. “Our wedding at Cottiers was just, put simply, a DREAM. I fell in love with this venue long before I was even engaged! I just knew it was where we would be having our wedding reception; thankfully, my now husband, agreed! We were blown away when we visited the venue initially. Once all of our decor etc had come together on the day (thanks to our wonderful suppliers and Team Cottiers) we walked into the hall for 'first looks': we were absolutely besotted. Not only is this venue visually stunning and provides the most perfect atmosphere for a wedding, the food was TO DIE FOR. 'Best food I've had at a wedding' is what we've heard on repeat for the last seven weeks now! Lastly, but by no means least - Eve and Erin, our coordinators, were nothing short of phenomenal. They had the patience of saints when it came to my constant stream of questions and emails -for the best part of a year. The girls kept me calm throughout and nothing was too much for them. What a credit they are to this establishment! Both girls are responsible for what we knew would be the most amazingly beautiful day ”

“Lovely place where you can order a lot of different food, listening to some good music. Prices are a little bit high, but food is soooo tasty and the staff really is friendly. They had an issue with the order app so our food came 20 minutes early, and they offered us the last 2 plates to apologize ! I would definitely recommend going there”
