“What a delight to eat at this beautiful restaurant. My husband and I turned up without reservations today after a tough morning following a bereavement to try and take our minds off our sadness. The restaurant owner pulled out all the stops to find us a table, and his kind and friendly manner instantly lifted our spirits. The food was the best we have ever eaten, the staff were so attentive and clearly very happy in their work, and the other customers were obviously in their happy places too. Incredible dining experience in a truly welcoming place full of joy, and heart, and hope. Thank you so much x”

“Italian restaurant in Motherwell. Lovely setting. Busy but seats spread out. Attentive servers, fabulous food, very big portions. Nice atmosphere. I had the soup of the day (Chicken), spaghetti bolognese (partner had the steak) and vanilla fudge sundae (my partner had the sticky toffee pudding) 9/10 look forward to coming back soon.”

“Really nice risotto and pizza. Pistachio meringue needs a rethink it was hard and very dry, but lovely staff, free liqueur at end and my salmon risotto was delicious. Wine nicely chilled. 2 courses and bottle wine for 2 was 60 quid so very reasonable.”

“The best steak pie I’ve ever eaten in my life. Katherine assisted me with our order and she could not be more pleasant to work with. Even the delivery driver was exactly on time and delightful funny and engaging. Strangely, the grill offers chicken enchiladas. This was as tasty as food I’ve eaten in Mexico and the heat level and Mexican spices were outstanding. We will order again from there tomorrow due to delicious food and charming staff.”

“Such a relaxing place to dine. The staff are warm, friendly and really helpful. Ask for some advice on what to eat, and they'll surprise you with something interesting. The food is off the charts amazing. This is my 4th time there and each time is a treat. Lovely surroundings (check out the ceiling!) and quiet background music. “I recently had the pleasure of dining at Meat Bar, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The sandwich was generously portioned, making it a fulfilling and enjoyable meal. The Caesar salad was equally impressive. “For me this has to be hands down the best steakhouse I have ever been to, I booked me and my partner a table on a Monday night for her birthday with a note on the booking letting them know it was her birthday. All staff in the restaurant were absolutely amazing and didn't make a big fuss for her birthday and wished her a happy birthday and even gave us a card which was a small gesture but absolutely appreciative. Our waiter for the night was Steven and I cannot put into words how amazing he was, he walked us through the menu, brought a board with all the cuts of steak and showed us how big they are, what cuts would be best for us etc etc, he was absolutely unreal throughout the night and kept checking up and had really good conversations with us through the night even though Steven let us know that they were short staffed. The food was absolutely sublime and beyond any steak we've ever had and the sides were no slouch either which we absolutely loved. Overall I cannot recommend the butchershop high enough. Thank you for making my partners birthday amazing and letting us take home our leftovers”

“Absolutely bang on this place is. If you want a top class burger. This place nails it. We always visit when we’re in Glasgow. It never disappoints. Today I had the Sunshine on Beef, with an extra patty. It was so good. A taste sensation. The chips are good too, but it’s all about the burgers here. Get stuck in, all over your face and dripping down your hands. Glorious time. I also had some “luxury vanilla ice cream” and it was rather good; the regular serving (3scoops) was a nice finisher. The vibe/decor is good, staff spot on so it’s a yes from me.”

“I’m a big curry lover, and I drive from Hamilton to here to get a curry! It’s that good! That Thali was wonderful, and the Chasni sauce is fabulous. And the chef made me Lassi, even though it isn’t on the menu! My partner got the sea bass, said it was the best ever, and generous portions, can’t recommend this friendly eatery enough. Did I mention that the prices are very reasonable? You won’t be disappointed!”

Attention to detail about the quality of everything is clearly on the agenda here at Alessio's. Flavours are gutsy and pack a punch. Superb value. Service excellent. Amazing place if you like punchy flavours, your sandwiches packed full to bursting and quality of ingredients top notch. I'd come back to Kirkintilloch simply to visit here. Bravo.”

“La Casa is a bit off the beaten track but it's well worth seeking out because they serve great food. The restaurant is spacious and well appointed with very friendly staff. The lunch menu is great value and has plenty to choose from including daily specials like roast beef in red wine sauce with red cabbage. Excellent! It has plenty of free parking too. Go round the back if it's busy.”

“Yes we went into Gost with some high expectations, but what we didn't know is how strong their seafood game was in comparison to their exceptionally strong steak one. Yes both the steaks we tried were premium with a capital P, but those plates of seafood absolutely floored us down to the seabed. This place maybe be pricey; but, given that this is in the heart of Glasgow city centre, and in light of the quality of their ingredients, the talent of the chefs, and the ambience of the restaurant itself, we can ensure you that every penny will be well spent. Needless to say, there's going to be a number of food and drink items here that'll most likely be shortlisted for our end of year awards in December. In the meantime, we'd strongly encourage Gost being somewhere close towards the top of your list of restaurants to visit when in Glasgow.
