“Went back again today 13 August with my husband to meet up with my brother who is over from Saudi. Food was delicious again. I had the prawn and smoked salmon rigatoni and a couple of half priced cocktails. The guys had burgers and fries. One had the chicken milanese burger and the other the beefburger. My brother opted for the carbonara fries as he said he'll stock up on his bacon intake prior to heading back to Saudi on Friday as it'll be Christmas School hols before he gets back to Scotland. They both had soft drinks and a coffee. No desserts as we were all too full as portions are large. I had again a £10 act of kindness emailed voucher which was handy and the 25% meerkat discount made the bill just £52.72. Thanks again to the very lovely and friendly Twandi for welcoming us back and for looking after us so we'll. See you again soon. Janice Xx”

“We had a lovely family meal here - I had the fig and Parma ham pizza and my husband had chicken Milanese. Our boys children’s 3 course meal also very substantial and enjoyed by them. House wine very nice. Saturday had live music in the early evening / late afternoon which was very enjoyable”

“Loved it, the place was excellent and made me think how much my local address needs a Weatherspoons. The service was excellent and very friendly. The food (Fish n Chips and Chilli) was better than I expected to be honest as I wasn't really expecting it to be so tasty. The atmosphere was very friendly as I spoke to a couple of customers and staff about the fact it was 35 years since my last visit, when I worked in Barr and Stroud. Weatherspoons is such an asset to have on your doorstep and I wish we had one in Blantyre.”

“On Sunday night we ordered our first home delivery from here for years - and were NOT disappointed. Punctual delivery of two piping hot starters and mains: all excellent! (Mussels in Black Bean sauce; Spring rolls, Lemon Chicken and Crispy Chilli chicken, both with boiled rice). Both meals thoroughly enjoyed!! I think some of the other reviews on here are for a different restaurant (for example, there is no Sweet and Sour Chicken on this menu). “Ordered through Airdrie Eats. Ordered a katsu chicken ramen noodles bowl... I was really surprised when it came and full of fresh veg (shredded carrot, red cabbage, sweetcorn, bean sprouts) all in their own section and not all mixed, a boiled egg (halved) and 2 crispy panko chicken fillets sliced with the soup stock in a separate carton. Beautiful! Ordered bulgoogi Beef and received chicken. It none the less, it was really nice and big one bowl portions. Both dishes a really nice change from the usual repetitive stuff. Will be ordering again soon.”

“An absolutely phenomenal meal. As steak lovers we were eager to try Tiffney’s for the first time, and it definitely did not disappoint! “We had an absolutely wonderful dining experience. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavour. The steak was perfectly grilled with a delicious crust and a generous sprinkling of sea salt, paired with thick, golden chips that were crisp on the outside and fluffy inside—great portion size too. The lamb main was equally impressive. Tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection, it came with a variety of textures and flavours that made every bite enjoyable—especially the crispy elements and the flavourful sauce. For dessert, the raspberry tart was a lovely finish. Light, creamy, and not too sweet, with just the right tartness from the raspberry coulis and fresh fruit. Service was smooth, and the overall value was excellent for the quality and portion sizes. “Went here on recommendation from a friend & wasn't disappointed. Emailed prior to reserve a table & received a friendly reply. There is a smallish car park at the back & some space at the side & on the road. Friendly staff greeted us & despite the turnover of tables being busy, the staff were attentive at checking we were all ok. The menu has a good range of choices & our food was delicious. It was also a reasonable price. Will definitely go again when visiting Stirling”

“I visited this Turkish restaurant yesterday and had an amazing experience. The owner is incredibly kind and welcoming — he truly made us feel at home from the moment we walked in. The service was outstanding from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, full of flavour, and honestly the best Turkish food I’ve had anywhere in England. I left completely satisfied and genuinely impressed. Highly recommend this place! I’ll definitely be coming back.”

“A wonderful experience! We opted for the 10 course summer menu with wines and were so pleased we did! A very warm welcome and with our 4.45pm slot the place was virtually empty on arrival so we were able to choose a lovely spot to sit before being guided through the menu by our friendly, knowledgeable server who was wonderful throughout and keen to chat with us about each course and wine and seemed genuinely interesting in our thoughts throughout. We opted for some delicious apperitifs as well. The menu itself was fantastic, I particularly enjoyed the melon gazpacho to start... a great start to a summer menu (and on such a hot day). I also really enjoyed the Mussels and Fregola dish. My husband loved the pork dish. We were both pleased to be proved completely wrong about what we thought our "top picks" would be. Wines were paired well and we enjoyed all of them; I was very surprised again by what I thought my favourite wine would be Vs what it actually was. I noticed the goats cheese dish was prepared/served very differently to what I've seen on their own social media but I can only imagine this is part of the development of these dishes/menus and it was absolutely stunning so not a complaint by any means! We got married on the first so travelled up to Scotland to visit some family for a "mini moon" and wanted to treat ourselves to a memorable evening out. This absolutely delivered and we felt was great value for money. If I was to find any minor criticism it would be that the music at points really didn't seem fitting for the setting... a wild playlist that rapidly fluctuated between "bangers" to more chilled music. That being said we actually found it quite funny but may not suit all diners!”

“Loved every single thing at Porter and Rye! Initially, we were running late due to traffic and the person on the phone offered to change our booking time to allow us to still go & have enough time for our meal. Me and my friend got the Friday deal and got one of the starters. My friend doesn’t have alcohol & they were happy to change the drink for a non-alcoholic one. The steak tartare starter was unreal!! Then the steak & sides arrived, a fantastic portion for a deal and everything cooked to perfection. Everything we had was so flavorful and the high quality. It was my birthday and the restaurant offered me a birthday sweet & prosecco along with desert that we ordered which you could tell was made fresh. The service was excellent, Rachel and the team took the best care of us & really felt spoiled. The atmosphere was also perfect, felt very intimate & calm. If we could give more stars we would. “I visited the restaurant on Saturday afternoon with my family, and as the only vegan in the group, my options were initially very limited. However, when I mentioned this to our server, Courtney, she went above and beyond. She spoke with the chef and came back with several options they could prepare specially for me, which I thought was incredibly kind. The chef made a delicious arrabbiata along with garlic bread made with olive oil instead of butter - simple but delicious. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was brilliant. As a vegan, I don’t always expect restaurants to accommodate me, so I was delighted by how thoughtful they were in offering alternatives. I would highly recommend this restaurant for both the food and the wonderful service.”

“A perfect summer surprise at Oiishi. A longtime favourite that keeps getting better. My partner and I have been coming to Oiishi for over six years now, and not once have we left disappointed. This time, we decided to try their new summer tasting menu for my birthday, a bit of a change from our usual favourites, and we were pleasantly surprised. The experience was beautifully paced, allowing us to really savour each dish as it arrived. The summer menu gave us the chance to try things we might never have ordered otherwise, and it opened our eyes to some fantastic new flavours. Highlights included the melt-in-your-mouth wagyu beef, the delicate and refreshing ebi summer rolls, and the beautifully presented tuna tartare. Every bite was thoughtful and refined. We ended the evening with a refreshing mango sorbet, which came with a delightful little surprise, a perfect way to round off what was a special birthday date night. If I had to pick a negative, which ultimately wasn’t a negative as it still tasted delicious as it is, was the Chilled Ramen with Volcano sauce didn’t have a lot of spice to it. We were expecting to have a kick of heat but it wasn’t there. The staff were exceptional throughout, attentive, informative, and welcoming. Each dish was introduced with care, and a personal visit from the chef to check on our experience was a warm and much-appreciated gesture. For the quality and variety, the summer menu is excellent value. We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. If you’re looking for a relaxed, high-quality tasting experience that offers both comfort and creativity, we can’t recommend Oiishi enough.”
