“It was the start of lockdown last year that I decided to get a tropical aquarium. As it was a large tank and cabinet they delivered it for me, the same day. Got advice on set up and water chemistry...took a couple of months to cycle the tank properly, they do the water checks whenever I feel the need. A year on, the aquarium is well settled in with a decent selection of easy to care for fish. Better than watching the telly! Still visit for food, chemicals, and fish as needed.”

“Friendly store with lots of choice. Excellent range of accessories with lots of aquatic stuff you. Enjoyed looking at the aquariums but the cold water section could do with a few more different ranges of fish. Nice selection of Malawi cichlids. I even saw snapping turtle in one of the tanks. Excellent range of juwel accessories. Good selection of reptiles and accessories”

“The pdsa is a charity and should be treated as such The work they do is brilliant and should not be compared to a private vets . It can be extremely busy at times so waiting can be quite long also remember urgent cases get priority please be patient”

All members of staff were polite, friendly, and demonstrated excellent customer care and service. In particular, I would like to highlight the exceptional service provided by Dominic, who went above and beyond on several occasions. On my first night, when my room was uncomfortably warm, Dominic promptly assisted with sorting out the air conditioning and personally delivered a fan to ensure my comfort. On the second night, while I was at the bar, he kindly arranged for a pizza for other guests after the kitchen had closed – a thoughtful gesture that really showcased his commitment to guest satisfaction. Dominic’s professionalism, attentiveness, and genuine care for guests truly stood out and made a positive impact on my stay. “I have a strong puppy that constantly pulls while trying to walk her I visited Smiths to buy a dog matic halter. A team of staff with abundance of knowledge and did not let me buy something that did not fit my dog correctly we tried many halters on the dog but she was too small for any of the ones that we needed to control the pulling. Another place would of let me purchase one and walk away. Not Smiths staff they were amazing highly recommend this pet shop and the staff. 100% honest staff”

“Stayed here for one night 1st September for the first time. Great location for us just a minutes walk from train station too. All staff very friendly and helpful a credit to the hotel from check in to reception and breakfast staff all fantastic. Room nice and comfy bed. Had early morning breakfast able to grab cereal and toast and a coffee. Would definitely come back and stay again.”

“Missus and son were able to go for a walk on the Bridge. Don't linger too long on the bridge though - the cops come and ask if you're ok, just minding your own business having a sit down. I guess there's a lot of jumpers.”

“Little cafe outside is amazing sells nicely cooked food the sandwiches are cheap and you can’t go wrong about £5 for a sausage, bacon, egg, cheese and mushroom sandwich. Beaut scran”

“My wife and I found ourselves hungry and tired from walking around the marina area which is a revelation to see it so much changed. (I am 81 tears old and was born in the city of Hull and know a lot about the place). We called in at the hotel to see if we could get a light lunch and were greeted warmly and our dog was welcomed as well. The meal was superb and the pizza was by far the best I had ever been served anywhere. The staff were helpful and the place was warm and clean. We were served by a guy called Adam. We will certainly return. Robin Taylor.”
