“Beautiful park and gardens. Connects easily to Meanwood park and there is a walkway under the ring road heading towards Adel and Golden Acre Park.”
“Roundhay Park is absolutely brilliant – one of the best city parks I’ve ever visited. It’s massive, beautifully maintained, and has something for everyone. The lakes, woodlands, and wide open green spaces make it perfect for walks, picnics, or just relaxing outdoors. We spent a good few hours wandering around and still didn’t see it all. The walk around Waterloo Lake was especially lovely, with ducks and swans, and loads of scenic spots to stop and take in the view. The Tropical World nearby is also well worth a visit if you’ve got kids or just fancy something a bit different. Great facilities too – plenty of parking, clean toilets, and cafes dotted around for a coffee or snack. Whether you’re local or just visiting Leeds, Roundhay Park is a must-see. A proper breath of fresh air right on the city’s doorstep.”
“Great place to swim . Absolutely love the views also it was so hot day that the water was so warm . Never ever heard any place you can swim in Leeds , but this truly is safe for swim . There is a group who doing full moon swim sessions at this lake which is interesting event. I did not try but probably will join. Absolutely stunning walk with birds and nature . Hiking possibilities with beautiful views . I will definitely come to see this beautiful place again . There is public toilets available and also cafeteria with amazing views .”
“Brilliant place....myself and a friend go here once a week for pool. The table is brilliant. 10p a game!! Beer is cheap. Landlord is a nice respectable bloke and the customers ive come across are all decent people!”
“Beautiful park, amazing trees and plants. Had a funfair in park if you have little ones. Live music and has tennis courts and mini golf. Not sure if fair and live music on all time but we went on Sunday 27th July.”
“What a lovely and warm, welcoming and gorgeous gem of a pub. Kath Mark and all the other staff were exactly what you want in a public houses staff; Friendly, chatty and able to pull a pint. The beer garden is ample in space. The interior is clean and homely, a proper nice pub in a lovely part of the world. I have visited the pub 3 weeks on the trot for the last 3 Wednesdays to attend the acoustic music evening (From 7.45pm onwards)- If you want to hear great music or participate in a real, good old fashioned open session with some fantastic players this is the place for you. You don't have to be the best singer, guitarist, fiddle player or percussionist to join in, just be respectful when others are playing and join in if you like, just how it should be. I would definitely class the Bay Horse music night as one of the best I've been to, period. Great environment, great people, a local affair that welcomes visitors. They don't serve food, neither do they need to- It is perfect as it is.”
“A very well kept, clean and tidy park which really is a nice hidden gem. Great mix of trees, plants, bushes and grass and plenty of benches to relax on as well. In the Summer there is a paddling pool for the kids and it has good access to both the Castle and the Riverside.”

“It's the first time I've been but I was welcomed like a regular. Great selection of beer to add to the friendly atmosphere makes it a great place to go. Treats for the dog also added the icing on the cake”
“Great little walk and range of wildlife to see.”
“You know, I'll be honest with you. I really liked it here. Yes, it's not very big. It can get crowded with visitors. But it's best to call them in advance and they will gladly help you choose a convenient time for your family. They have an excellent team of employees who love their work and are very friendly. You can buy hot and cold drinks here. They also sell hot soups in a cups. If you get cold in the hall looking your child they will give you a warm blanket. It's very nice and welcoming here. One session is 2 hours and costs just over £8. I will gladly bring my son here more than once. Call them and they will gladly tell you everything. They are open until 10 in the evening. The adults who skate here are very helpful to the children. Everyone watches the kids carefully.”

“Arriving at lunchtime meant a small wait. We were served quickly and took seats outside, looking over the lake. Sally brought our drinks and food as soon as it was ready. As always, our meals were tasty. This is a very popular cafe with good reasonably priced food. The service is quick and friendly”

“A fabulous venue, well kept and inexpensive beer, exceptionally clean, although you need to be a member of a CIU club to gain entry if you are a visitor on the town, once inside you will have a very pleasant time. Very friendly staff as well”

“Interesting and informative to walk round. Steps for better viewing, well maintained for picnics on the grass. Special events so check their website. Cafe and toilets plus kids park, really good few hours! Car park nearby (I parked in morrisons as shopping after) and you can walk around the outside, on paths and over the road.”
“First time going here today, and I’ve never ever seen owt like it!! The place is insane, so so much to do and keep the kids busy all day. We was here from 10.15am till 4.10pm. If it wasn’t for needing to get our train back to Leeds we’d of stayed until the place closed. All the staff were friendly, polite, smiles on their faces. They were there to help if needed! The boys were gutted to go home, and are already dying to come back again!! Thank you for such an amazing day, and for a big well done for all the staff working 21/08/25, you worked your backsides off!! Xx”
“Paid car parking Cafe is great Nice walk around the lake”
“Wild , nice circular walk , parking available. A bit off road , still can go with a pram if you have medium to larger wheels. Can feed ducks there and see bunnies if you are lucky enough.”
“I had a blast on the Pugneys Light Railway today. Everyone I met there was superb, from the lady taking tickets to the gentleman driving the train. I had a very excitable autistic young man with me and everyone gave us plenty of space so I could make sure he was safe and enjoyed himself. The ride itself was really fun, there were two trains running so pretty much no wait to ride, and it was only £2 a head which is cracking great value. I may have to go back on my own some time!”
“Beautiful castle ruin. Stunning scenery. Breathtaking views at sunset. Nice and spooky at night. Steeped in history. What's not to love?!”
“Several function rooms for private hire at reasonable rates. Great decor. Two new bars. Warm welcome. Disabled facilities throughout. Also open for ballroom dancing, fitness dancing, singing for fun, theatre group, quiz etc.”
“A great place to spend a morning or afternoon. Free parking and lots of walks and trails to enjoy. Staff were really friendly and enthusiastic, and (shoutout to Elizabeth!) gave us a basic run down of the history of the house and the story of Bagshaw on arrival which was a lovely touch! Three rooms to explore downstairs and three rooms upstairs, my favourite being the Eygpt room! Entry is free, and gift shop is reasonably priced.”
