“Lovely food and service. We opted for the street food sharer. Its a good amount of food for 2 people. Drinks tasted AMAZING, my husband opted for the alcohol free as he was driving, and the options were fantastic. There is a good range available with food, and it caters to pretty much every dietary requirement.”

“Always been a fan of the Turkish/Greek sort of grills and what a little gem this place is in the middle of, out of all places, Pontefract (no offense to anyone from Pontefract). It's a pretty cosy establishment, about 26 covers max, but any place of that size and a focused menu set, typically means they can focus on the quality of the dishes, and boy, tonight's meal was a joy. For anyone going for the first time, I'd definitely recommend the mixed grill as it has a full range of lamb kebab, lamb chop, adana (which btw was awesome, right lamb mince consistency with the delicate balance of herbs and spices), chicken kebab and chicken wing. Rice was flavourful and the salad refreshing with the appropriate amount of dressing. Other half has the chicken Marmanis, which was indeed tasty, white wine sauce with the mushrooms just right without being too salty or sharp. Only a slight blip was a tough tendon in her piece of chicken - something that can be easily corrected I'm sure. Baklava for dessert is home made rather than shop bought so that's a massive positive for me. All washed down with a Turkish apple tea to cleanse the pallette to end a surprising but delightful evening meal. Service was excellent and attentive, the team there are super friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be back and is an establishment we will bring friends and family to. A must visit. 5*. If the team are reading this? teşekkür ederim”

“Yet another awesome sushi restaurant of which there seems to have been an explosion of in recent years which is fab! Beautifully light and crisp mixed tempura, gorgeous fresh sashimi (the mackerel seemed particularly good) and a delicious rainbow roll (I think it was). We then had a couple of the special desserts - apple gyozas and an ice-cream ball rolled in dessicated coconut, dipped in tempura batter and deep fried. Amazing! Wonderful, friendly and polite service and lovely atmosphere. Another one to recommend!”

“Friends of ours recently moved to the area, so we went to visit them for an evening, and after reading about the pub online beforehand, I was a little on the fence as the place has some 'strict' rules. However, as soon as we entered, the staff were very welcoming and friendly, and the regulars were also lovely and chatty. It felt like a time warp (in a good way) of when pubs were pubs, and people mingled and just chatted and laughed. Something that feels lost these days. No riff raff, just good people, and good beer. Although I'm only 32, I gravitate to pubs with older punters, as they're not stuck to a phone all evening, and just want to socialise and be present. We all loved the place. It was cosy, warm, inviting, and best of all, extremely fairly priced! We will definitely be back the next time we visit!”

“Fantastic shop and service. Chris Barrowclough was so helpful but not the least bit pushy. Ended up buying 3 sofas and 2 Accent chairs from their extensive selection. Customer service great and delivered by two really helpful and considerate delivery guys within 6 weeks of ordering. I would always go straight here for other furniture purchases - quality and service much better than other sofa shops and prices are very comparable.”

“Our first visit after my parents recommended it. We didn't book but we were accommodated straight away and shown to our table. After browsing the menu we chose the two courses for £9.90 . The starter arrived which was delicious followed by a lovely main course. The staff were nice and friendly.”

“April 2025 update - new landlords look like they have a plan ... which sound great. Early days but she is crystal clear and the staff are great. March 2024 update - still pretty darn good. Dec 2023 and new management. 1st visit was a big success. Ales were kept perfectly and all staff very friendly. High hopes going forward. Glad to see it both open and busy.”

Amazing atmosphere aswell as very knowledgeable on the menu which helped for somebody who also was with me whom struggled with placing a order to their preference. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. A very reasonable prices and great selection of drinks. Before we left, I ordered homemade pizza to take home which was also delicious.”

“Where do I start. Visited the sun pub for early dinner booked table online. After entering and been greeted by a friendly chap behind the bar was directed to our table which had my name on reserved. We ordered starters and a main food came out quickly and was absolutely great. We will definitely be returning to this pub for breakfast and Sunday lunches. The staff are all great and very attentive to customers. We didn't know until visit it's dog friendly aswell but we left the pup home . If you're hungry and in the area don't drive passed this brilliant pub.”

“Nas was our designer and very friendly. Not pushy at all. Very nice bloke. Responds to calls and emails. We had a few issues with kitchen, marks on doors, all replaced easily. Not Wrens fault but we had faulty hob, was replaced quickly. Tap was dripping , replaced quickly. For customer service we can't fault them. Main delivery was very good we had a time slot and day booked.”
