“I had a wonderful experience at Villa Mamas. The moment I stepped inside, the space felt warm and inviting — relaxed, stylish, and with a touch of homely Gulf charm that sets the tone for the entire meal. It’s the kind of restaurant where you instantly feel at ease. The food was the standout. I ordered the machboos, and it was exceptional — beautifully seasoned, aromatic, and full of depth without ever feeling heavy. Every bite had that comforting home-cooked quality, but elevated with precision and balance. You can clearly taste the chef’s roots and passion in the way each dish is put together. The service was also excellent. Staff were attentive without hovering, and genuinely friendly. They guided me through a few menu recommendations and checked in just the right amount. It made the experience feel personal rather than routine. Overall, this is one of the best Middle Eastern meals I’ve had in London. Authentic flavours, generous portions, a great atmosphere, and a team that really knows how to make guests feel welcome. I’ll definitely be returning.”
“Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was upscale yet relaxed, and soft music creating a cozy vibe. The staffs were friendly and attentive, I will definitely return for another delightful meal!”
“I have been to this pub a few times.since the new manager took over (i think he has been managing for around 8 months now). They are a very friendly community based team. Today for example a lady in a wheel chair was outside and asked me.to let.thr staff kmow she needed help. Thr manager immediately let.me tell him even though he was really busy. Came out straight away and mads the lady feel special and supported. He even tried to find a comfy seat available for her and one that was not high. When I have been here before the manager was again very chatty and explained he wamts customers.tk feel special and valued. He certainly has achieved this. The ither staff also are friendly and always approachable. You will be served here quickly as they make customers a priority.the food is amazing too.”
“Lovely pub in the heart of Wimbledon Village just off the amazing Wimbledon Common. Very welcoming cosy place. The staff are very friendly and efficient, they make sure the place is well run. The lunch menu steak sandwich is perfection. Good selection of ales and beers”
“Affordable roasts and huge yorkshire puds! Good selection of beers on draught and always friendly service. Very accomodating for dogs - they even gave us a doggy bowl so we could feed her some of our leftovers.”
“We booked for a hen-do lunch at the Windmill Inn at the start of our weekend having flown in to London from Guernsey. We were staying near by and the Windmill staff were very accommodating when we arrived early with all our suitcases. The staff were welcoming and patient with our large group, and our drinks and food were all served in good time. They were happy when we played a couple of civilised hen party games at the table too. The food was really good! Lots of choices to choose from with different options to suit different tastes. It set us up nicely for our weekend of partying! Thank you to the Windmill Inn - we all really enjoyed our few hours with you.”
“Really great place to stay in London - nice rooms (amazingly quiet!), comfortable and well appointed. Staff are always very friendly and welcoming, free arrival drink a nice touch. Pub itself is a nice spot in an evening - good food and atmosphere.”
“Extremely satisfied with my recent trip to the The Great Southern we and my partner ordered a chicken burger along with the dirty fries. A good burger is hard to come by these days but the bun was lightly toasted and the patty was well seasoned and crispy. A good amount of topping and sauce. Dirty fries were nice and not over powered by the topping which many places tend to do. We also ordered a sticky toffee pudding and apple and blackcurrant crumble which were both excellent. I would recommend the sticky toffee out of the two. Will definitely be coming back !”
“After visiting a few times for dinner and enjoying the delicious food, we decided to hold our wedding reception at the Lordship in October. The food is always top notch and the staff are really helpful and friendly. The Lordship has a lovely atmosphere and everyone was so helpful when we were planning our big day. We had so many guests contact us after the wedding to say how much they enjoyed the food & the venue. Would highly recommend!”
“Great venue for a few drinks, footy, and some billiards. Good selection of drinks at a fantastic price! Always got some good deals going. Staff is also friendly and welcoming. A proper old school pub.”
“Went to this pub to watch the Tottenham match and it exceeded our expectations. The floor staff would go around the tables and ask if you needed anything more. The food was lovely and Flore especially was very attentive and lovely. 10/10 pub could not recommend more. Oh and prices very decent.”
“The Fox & Anchor is a wonderful pu Fantastic atmosphere and great service. A really homey pub with wood panelled decor, cosy lighting and a magnificent silver bar If you come with 4 people to eat you may find yourself in one of 3 little private dining rooms which are very charming The roasts are to die for however I had the pork belly and it was too dry for my liking but all the trimmings were sensational We have lived locally for 7 years and never tried it! Don’t make the same mistake as us”
“Great food, great location just off the main drag. The haddock goujons is a great alternative if you are craving traditional English fish & chips but aren't hungry enough for a full meal.”
“Let’s just say, spike is the goat! Such a lovely fella, hilarious and talented. In all my 50 years of attending pubs. Spike might be the best bartender I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting.”
“The black lion is one of my local pubs. Always receive a warm welcome from the owners and the staff. Food and drink is always of a high standard and a competitive price. If you’re looking for a pub to go and have a nice drink or watch sports which it is particularly good for this is your pub. If in the area I would recommend the black lion, you will not be disappointed.”
“We had a big group in for a family lunch in the heated garden space and everything was perfect. Kids could free flow to the play area, food came out quickly and was delicious, staff were all nailing it. And the place looked beautiful - the attention to detail for the Christmas decorations was impressive.”
“Attended first Sunday lunch offering at Naughty Neighbour, the restaurant attached to Lawrence Arms. Started with a nice local beer, then the roast belly of pork with all the veg; also ordered the roast beef. All hot, tasty, filling, plus excellent hot gravy. We had booked and there were a few walkins. Finished with great apple crumble. Good value for money too, and reasonably priced wines.”
“Great little spot for a few drinks and a tasty burger, love the spin the wheel. Anya your the best!”
“Really enjoyed our visit! Mohammad looked after us perfectly. Quick service, great drinks, and such a kind attitude.”
“Had lunch and drinks whilst watching football, huge selection of food and drinks, everything delicious and well priced! We live in Devon but next time we are up we will definitely be visiting again!”
“I had an 11-hour layover and decided to stop by Oceanic Pub. Easily the best decision I made. The passion fruit martinis were incredible, the brisket was perfectly done, and the place had a great atmosphere. Delisha was my server and she was fantastic: warm, friendly, and genuinely personable. She made the experience even better. I Highly recommend! Maria”
“The Royal Oak in Isleworth is a fantastic pub! The atmosphere is lively yet cozy, making it the perfect spot to unwind. The staff are friendly and attentive, ensuring you have everything you need. I enjoyed a refreshing pint of their local brew, which was just what I needed. The pub’s charm and excellent service make it a must-visit. Highly recommend!”
“Came for a quick drink, came here a few years ago and really liked it, still a great place. Went on a Sunday lunchtime, not the best time because it was packed. Didn't stay to eat but if you do want to then I recommend booking in advance if they take reservations. We sat outside which was fine since it was a nice day. Friendly, welcoming and helpful service from the gent behind the bar (possibly the manager/owner). Very family orientated feel to the place. Very cosy inside. Good choice of drinks at reasonable prices.”
“Lovely old pub with a superb beer selection. Would be great if they did some live music or other events. They don’t do food but you can bring food in.”
“Visited today for my mums birthday - we booked last minute after a change of plans. We had 3 courses and every single one was delicious. Highly recommend the Sunday roast and the sticky toffee! The service was great - special thanks to the two young guys (I didn’t catch their names but a really young lad and the barman with plaits) for looking after us. We will be back!”
“Great old-fashioned pub. Excellent selection of beers, great service and good-quality food. Prices very reasonable for the area as well.”
“1st time and it was a lovely pub near the Rugby (and I could park my motorcycle in the street). The young staff were welcoming, even when I asked if I could have 3 pints of Naked Ladies, if I wasn't being wound up by my buddies who drink there regularly for rugby. BTW they have Erdinger in bottles, including alcohol free so I could enjoy a beer.”
“Love the beer selection and the tacos. I’ve always rated this pub and the previous owners, so this was big boots for the new owners to fill but I believe they have done it. The pub was never busy before, and I don’t believe it needed to be be but it is nice to see a big pub with more people in it. I think the biggest draw, is the pub now sells food. There are a lot more couples and families here now and it’s great to see. I think the beer and tacos are great and the atmosphere is nice and chilled.”
“What can I say about the east London liquor company that's not been said before, well it has to be said that it's a fantastic welcoming delicious tasty informative and thoroughly enjoyable place to visit. My wife bought me a gin tour for my birthday and we had a fantastic time due to the brilliant staff. If you don't like gin then they do tours for whiskey, rum and vodka. We will definitely be returning in the near future, I have my eye on a few bottles in their shop. All in all a must visit.”
“My family and I went to the crossing and had the best experience. The food was great and the drinks too! Special mention to our great waiter Harry - attentive with a fun touch to the service. A great waiter really brings the meal to another level and Harry performed!”
