“We went today for lunch, and didn't book a table. However, the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, the food delicious, The menu is very large, so choose well as the portions are generous. It's great they have a lunchtime menu option. Recommend the home made chips if you get the option if it comes your way. We have also been again recently with some friends who hadn't been before, they loved it. The food was excellent, I'd recommend the seafood salad, two of my favourite things to eat. A large portion, but just delicious. No room for pudding for me, next time perhaps! If you've not been yet. You have to go, but book a table.”
“We had breakfast here and it was lovely! Came out fresh and hot! Eggs and bacon cooked to order, Perfectly! Cannot fault the quick and polite service! Clean and maintaine. Quiet, calm atmosphere. Breakfast is great value for money, includes a glass of apple or orange juice. Highly recommend eating here!”
“What a wonderful stay at SugarBeat! The restaurant served fantastic food, and a delicious breakfast. The staff were always so polite, friendly and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. Our room itself was lovely, cozy and clean, with a large comfy bed and super fluffy towels. Thank you for making us so welcome. We'll definitely return.”
“Straightforward room in the car park of a lovely pub. Fantastic value for money, friendly people, great food. Will definitely be back again when working in the area. Zero mobile signal but WiFi worked well.”
“It was our first visit to the Black Swan yesterday for Sunday dinner. We ordered the Sunday roast and it was delicious! Plenty of food and the cauliflower cheese was the best I have ever had. Desserts not be missed however full you may feel. We will be returning regulary ( just moved to the area). Well done to the chefs!”
“One of my favourite places for brunch. Excellent food and coffee (great range of vegan options), superb service and wonderful atmosphere. The adjoining shop is lovely with a wonderful range of speciality bits and pieces that I can’t get anywhere else. It feels a real treat to shop there. Easy parking which is free for 1 hour and a great location with some other lovely shops nearby, what’s not to like.”
“We ate here for Mothers day, it was a treat. Set menu had plenty of options. Staff were amazing, I have dairy and gluten intolerance and was very much accommodated and they even made me a special dessert so I could have one. The location is beautiful and inside is rustic and very well kept and clean.”
“Visited for my mums 95th birthday very accommodating with menu for my Mum. Food was piping hot and great portion sizes. Nice atmosphere and Wed night specials as well as the main menu. Great selection also. Will definitely return Empty plates all round.”
“Lunch Experience at Jarrod’s Pantry Today, I had the pleasure of enjoying my favorite pie for lunch at Jarrod’s top-floor Pantry restaurant. At first, I was ready to leave as I wasn't in the mood for another carvery. However, I spotted the steak and kidney pie on the menu and couldn’t resist! I went back to the counter and chose a delightful meal of boiled and roasted potatoes with fresh vegetables, paired with a refreshing bottle of mango juice. The pie was generously filled with steak and kidney, and the potatoes and vegetables were cooked to perfection. It truly made for an enjoyable meal! In total, my lunch cost £17.30, which kept me satisfied for the rest of the day. Jarrod’s is a relatively large restaurant, quite popular with the older generations. The staff-to-customer ratio is nearly always spot on, ensuring excellent service. Plus, there are several car parks within walking distance, making it an ideal place to meet up with friends or, like I did today, enjoy a meal alone.”
“Was happily greeted by a friendly older lady, and nothing was too much trouble! Victoria sponge was to die for, and coffee lovely and warm! All the staff seemed welcoming and pleasant. Lovely atmosphere, although saddened to see how rude 3 local ladies were to the servers, who in all honesty did all they could to rectify a mistake. Sadly some feel very entitled, but did not hamper my experience, and will definitely be back!”
“Exactly what we were looking for. The cafe is in a lovely quiet position away from roads etc down a pretty alley way. We got a friendly greeting and could choose our table. We had builders tea and delicious scones that had just been made. It was so relaxing just watching people going about their day whilst enjoying our tasty elevenses. Would recommend to holiday makers and locals like us. We feel so lucky to have lovely cafes like this to visit.”
“We were looking for somewhere and hadn't booked. Found this on the map. What a winner. I have a dairy allergy and they took it so seriously. They knew the menu inside and out. The location is stunning and would be lovely on a summer day. The food was enormous. Plentiful. Six in our group. 2 x sausage and mash. The only small complaint was the veg being a little too under cooked 1 x double house burger - handmade patty and my son loved it. 1 x kids chicken nuggets. I will say these looked lovely but for my fussy eater too much batter 1 x ricotta stuffed chicken breast. Again looked amazing 1 x vegan halloumi burger 1 x side of onion rings. All bar one couldnt finish the food. We did ask for the desert menu to be nosey but the staff forgot to bring. So we took it as a sign that was enough for us. Full belly's and happy kids. Its worth a visit”
“A good place to meet, coffee bar, library, pizza restaurant and info, toilets are available and you can sit outside on the steps leading up to the Forum, often special events take place there often”
“Its lovely, very peaceful. Its great for a stroll, lots of trees and plants, there's ponds and larger bodies of water, with ducks, swans etc. There's a boat ride available at extra cost. The cafe was nice, good value as was the shop, worth a visit.”
“Serving reasonably charged nice beer. Location is quite convenient. Parking is somewhat limited but easily accessible via bus or taxi anyway. Would recommend a visit if you're in Norwich.”
“Wonderful little pub. Great cosy atmosphere, friendly staff and punters. Tacos there fantastic too. Can’t go wrong.”
“Went in as it was part of my City of Ale trail and found the pub very relaxing and some nice interesting photos on the pub walls , and was visited by the Landlord's dog lovely little chap bit out of the way as i live on the other side of the city.”
“One of my favourite pubs on The Broads. Delicious food - had a lovely steak pie with mash and veg. Great gravy! Service was good and plenty of people in so recommend booking. Within easy walk of local river moorings.”
“We had an intimate wedding reception here just a couple of weeks ago (early June), and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Sebastian was the perfect host, taking care of everything, even though he was probably up against it, as all the planning was very loose on our side! Pretty much all the arrangements were done by email or video, with a couple of quick drop ins. The canapés were delightful and the food was fabulous. I forgot to take pictures after the canapés because it was all so delicious we all got stuck in!! The service was excellent, we had everything that was wanted to make this the most perfect wedding. Thanks so much Sebastian and also for all the wonderful waiting staff and the fabulous chefs! ❤️”
“This is beautiful pub and in an amazing location. With the smell of amazing food being prepared drawing you in. It doesn’t disappoint in anyway.”
“It's a really lovely welcoming pub with good beer, friendly staff, a quality Sunday roast and a nice atmosphere. Defo my favourite pub in Norwich!”
“Great little traditional pub with their own real ale brewery and a good selection of other ales and beers to boot. The food menu looks good although I have not tried it. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Only 5mins walk from Norwich railway station . They seem to have a regular darts team. Real wood fired pizzas at special times”
“Fantastic gastro pub. Food is awesome and great service. First time there as we were passing through the area but wouldn't hesitate to return. Nice spacious restaurant - not crammed in shoulder to shoulder. Excellent!”
“Another amazing pub in Norwich! The atmosphere was amazing, lots of good music, they also have a wonderful selection of drinks for all ages. They have done an amazing collaboration with XO Kitchens. Their food is Asian fusion, with a wide array of flavours and dishes. Today we had: "Aged beef and bone marrow and flatbread with sauce", "Korean Fried Chicken, Asian Mayo with crispy noodles", "Beer Braised Beef, Miso - Sweetcorn Puree with Togara'shi fries", "Lager, Soy and Mackerel Fillet, Katsu Ketchup with Pickled ginger and wakame" All of these were perfectly presentated, with layer on layer of sweet, spicy, or sharp flavours. AMAZING, can't fault it”
“Love this place! Pogues Mahones has such a fun vibe and the staff are always super friendly. Drinks are solid, prices are fair, and there’s usually great music or a lively crowd to keep the atmosphere buzzing. Definitely one of those pubs you can just relax in with friends and know you’ll have a good time”
“Had some great local Norfolk ale here, nice pub. Top service - more than once the staff ensured my pint was topped up after the initial pour without any prompting. Also there was a pizza van (with a proper pizza oven), which we didn't sample but think is a great idea.”
“Great craft beer and cask ales on tap and always a large selection, always come here when in. Norwich it lovely to sit by the river”
“Argyle on tour !! 9hrs to get here by train but a 20 minute walk to this pub and with a nice real ale in my hand it mattered not. Nice bar staff....very friendly and even guided me to a few more pubs on the way back to Carrow Road stadium. Lovely old traditional pub steeped in history. Sadly, another bad day for Argyle.....we got stuffed 6 - 1. Ah well....only another 9hrs to get home....”
“Been here several times over two years holidays and it's been consistently excellent service and delicious food. We'll worth a visit, very family friendly including dog friendly. Has a small amusements area and play park which keeps the children of all ages entertained. Highly recommend. Great prices and friendly welcome too”
