Bistro dining experience in Sheffield

“Really enjoyed our night out in Cafe Naaz. Great atmosphere, very classy and quality of food and prevention was excellent.”

“We were looking for somewhere for lunch and stumbled across the Olive Grove. At first, we thought they were closed as it looked dark through the windows. When we got inside we were greeted by a very friendly member of staff offering to find us a table and insisting they were open! I think there were two other customers in there, so it was very quiet. (the number of customers is often an indication how good a place is, so I was a little cautious). Anyway, I needn’t have worried. It turned out to be a lovely place to stop for lunch. I suspect as it’s a Bistro and a little tucked away, their evening trade will be their most busy time. The staff were very helpful and the service prompt. The decafe tea was good and the food excellent. I had a platter on a wooded board, with chunks of different types of bread, cheese, olives, salad and cold meats. It was delightful! By the time we walked out I felt I had just sampled a taste of Spain.”

“second visit here and 100% cannot fault ....as soon as walked in greeted and shook hands ..took us to the table straight away waiter came took order for drinks ...with in minutes drinks was here then we orderd food ....wasn't long and all came together ...beautifully cooked and well presented and generous portions ...if you haven't been here 100% defo recommend...thankyou and keep up the good work and we will see you soon”

“Food is fabulous, especially the flatbreads Couldn't work how to reply so I will just add it here. I particularly loved the Persian lamb flatbread, the Shakshuka is excellent but so are the breakfasts. I am there most Saturday mornings waiting for kids to do their clubs and it is lovely to see a busy bar/restaurant. Could not recommend this place enough.”

“Havent eaten here for 10 years and we dont eat out much- got to feel worth the money and this totally did. Very attentive and friendly service. Came with our two children and the kids burger was SO nice we kept trying to eat it! Utterly recommend the ox cheek special- the meat fell apart and was melt in the mouth. Gorgeous red wine, and the chocolate brownie desert was wonderful. We will be back, top marks to new ownership.”

“There is plenty of parting but it does fill up easily when busy!. The place looks well inside will a recent addition of a booth with disinfectant vapour in, which was comforting. The staff was very friendly and the food was great, I had a punjabi masala which was fab definitely will go again.”

“Have been told its one of the best pubs in Chesterfield so we decided to give it a try. Well worth the trip. They offer a special lunch menu during the week, either 2 main meals for £23 or Any burger get a second for and additional £4.95. We tried the burgers. From bacon, crispy onion rings , to chorizo, black pudding ,pullled pork and even spar ribs off the bone their selection is amazing. They were cooked to perfection. My stilton cheese burger had 2 patties Char grilled, with stilton cheese premelted dripping down the patties. With onion marmalade and all the trimmings on a brioche bun. Seriously the best burger for miles. The other dishes we saw coming out looked as inviting but for me I ll be back to try some of the other burger crearions. Too good to miss out on.ps. we did go back and had the K pop chicken burger, it was divine! Photo below.”

“Called in to Forest Lodge about 4-15 on Sat 1st Nov for drinks and food.Was served by Scarlett in what was a very busy pub with people watching sport.She seemed to be working the bar on her own but was very efficient and polite.Great to see a young lady doing a fantastic job in a busy environment with a smile on her face.5 stars from us”

“Tha food is wonderful, however, it's cash only, make sure you ask for your receipt or you won't get one. Service when we went there last week, was slow and I'm not totally sure how to describe the two guys working the tables, one was really nice, the other though was pleasant, but not sure about him! We were 8, 6 adults one 5 year old and a baby, and we were a loud group, so maybe he had reservations about us. We did have a lovely evening despite my gripes.”

“Went for a meal here last night, with family and wow the food was amazing. Not often I'm defeated by a meal, but the burger won last night that's for sure. Great quality food and Big portions. Can't wait to go back.”

“This restaurant was recommended and see why. The food, staff and location was wonderful. We had the 'while you waiting' snack - delicious, then starters, main course and sweet. All the food was tasty and flavoursome. I had the homemade 'pie of the day' (mushroom and ale) which was absolutely delicious and plentiful. The triple cooked chips (pinched from my wife's plate) were some of the best we have ever tasted. The menu is not extensive but after seeing what other diners had ordered as well, we noticed all the dishes had the same care and quality and represented very good value. The staff were very attentive and pleasant and we insisted on leaving a service charge as none was included. We throughly recommend this establishment.”

“This place is just lovely and the breakfast muffin is to die for , all top quality produce and cooked beautifully. On top of this the customer service is brilliant, the young waiter ( kieran)who served us today is a real asset to this establishment and at such a young age could certainly teach many other in his industry what a good job looks like :)”

“We have just enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea in beautiful surroundings served by friendly staff. I'm pretty certain we didn't need to eat a variety of sandwiches scotch egg, quiche, scones with jam and clotted cream and three types of cake but it was so good we couldn't resist. “Great pub/bar in Mexborough with loads of drink choices at very reasonable prices e.g. 6 bottles of Bud in an ice bucket for £14 (as of March 2024). Loads of seating, both inside and out with snooker and pool tables available, as well as a DJ on weekends. ☆☆☆☆☆”

Food was 10/10 The beef brisket Fries where that Amazing we got the recipe from the chef who was kind enough to write down for us. George one of the waiters was great help also.
