“Lovely pub in a great location, with a carpark at the rear of the premises. You can enjoy the food and drink knowing it's all at a reasonable price, without sacrifice to quality. I can recommend this pub as one of the best in Congleton.”

Zu was brilliant — so friendly and attentive — and the rest of the staff were all happy, smiling, and couldn’t do enough for us. Such a great place, we’ll definitely be back again.”

“Ordered from here a few times now. Been spot on every time. We order through Just Eat to get it delievered - there is no option for salad to be added on Just Eat, so I phone up and the man who answers/presumably the owner is always very polite and nothing is too much trouble. Our sauces were missing from our Just Eat order the last time and I phoned them up and he sent them back straight away. 10/10. Think this man and this place deserved a mention. Highly recommend!”

“Ordered from just eat not direct, not ordered from here before. Ordered 2× lemon chicken, rice and chips. Said it would be 58mins and arrived in 26mins. Delivery driver was polite. Food is amazing!! Photo, has already been half eaten, so much chicken, love it!! Arrived hot. No issues whatsoever. Will be ordering from here again, thank you so much.”

And how the huge dining area has been broken down into different character areas is very clever. The menu has variety and both our meals were something new to us and delicious. “Very good little gem. Visited today for dinner, and greatly surprised of the quality of the pub. Inside it is absolutely spotless clean, atmosphere very cosy, and staff friendly. Food was 9/10 and service also, this due to not being double checked after we had our mains, and the veggies were microwaved and not fully cooked. We’ve noticed all the food comes on a plate, but chips and veggies separate which is a new thing and we couldn’t decide weather is working or not, as we had to share a bowl of chip’s between us. I totally recommend the pate, chicken goujons, and the pie for the main. The pie was cooked perfectly, and the beef was very very tasty and soft. Puddings 9/10, again, custard seemed to be microwaved and had some lumps inside and a jelly texture, but only few places are doing dessert in the house nowadays so its totally understandable. We’ll definitely be back as it was a worthy experience. Very good prices for food but also for the drinks considering the current markets. Thank you.”

“first time visited, arrrived 1:50pm on Wednesday, all desserts are £5 only. the service was good and the food that we ordered were tasty. buffalo chicken wings almost charged £1 per wing. the confit belly pork, steak pie and sea baa were delicious. both crumbles and sticky toffee pudding with custard were values for money (£5 per dessert on wednesday)”

“Visited the Windmill Cafe & Bistro and found a part of Portugal in Newcastle Under Lyme. The traditional cuisine is delicious. Lots of choice from gorgeous fish and meat dishes to a variety of just wonderful tapas bites, soup and loaves of freshly cooked traditional breads. Lovely atmosphere for relaxed eating. Owners genuine foodies and friendly.”

“We spent a long weekend in nearby Alton and stumbled across this restaurant, and what a treat! Not only a lovely change from the usual pub grub so commonly found locally, but it was super tasty. We live in London and are picky about our curries, but this place definitely ticked the box. Even our little ones really enjoyed the korma. Just be warned about those portion sizes! Great service too. Chaps who work there were very welcoming and attentive. Would recommend.”
